My 2 kids & I booked a room here & had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I wouldn't recommend staying here 2any1. Lets start by saying there are 2different buildings &the Villa is the "step child" &U get treated as such. The first afternoon we were there we walked back from a restaurant that was a few blocks away in the rain. We got 2the room &had TWO bath towels, yet 3 of us checked in. So, I nicely called the front desk &asked them if they could bring us another towel. The guy @the front desk immediately told me "we have 1 housekeeper &she is cleaning a bathroom N this building. If U want a towel U can come down & get it URself". 1st off, that is rude 4a "fancy hotel" that Im paying a resort fee to daily 4towels. He expected me to leave my kids in the room by themselves, go out N2 the pouring rain 2 the next building &get a towel. I told him that I could wait for them 2 bring the towel as we had 2people that can take a bath 1st. They NEVER brought us a towel that day. The next morning, they brought us towels knowing they refused 2bring them the night before. Thankfully I packed a beach towel so that my daughter could dry off. The next morning,I had been up since 6:30am sitting on our balcony waiting on the kids 2 wake up for breakfast. We went downstairs &our breakfast was freezing, so I hope U all enjoy breakfast with "gas station" quality. After that, my daughter wanted 2 go swimming &there was no access 2 the pool. Another lady was already trying to get to the pool and was aggravated because she didn't understand why the elevator wasn't going 2the pool. I went talk 2 the very rude manager and she said "safety pre-cautions" 3 times to me stating that it was "drizzling earlier". I stated that I had been sitting on my balcony since 6:30 am &there was no rain &that the rain isn't coming until the afternoon so it would make sense 2swim now. She cut me off &said "safety pre-cautions". I went back 2my room with 2 disappointed kids &called the surrounding hotels. All of their pools were open so I decided it was not in our best interest 2stay there 4our vacation because of the rude comments &customer service &the fact that I was paying for resort fees &for amenities that we weren't being allowed 2use because the manager said so. I asked 4a refund, &the manager in a lobby full of people says "well the pool does open at a certain time you know". It was now 9:30 &after breakfast, there was no time restraint &that wasn't here story just 5 min before when there wasn't a lobby full of people &she kept telling me that it was because of "safety pre-cautions" &it was drizzling outside, from her office in the middle of a building. I told her I wasn't going 2argue with her &I just wanted a refund so I can go 2a hotel that will allow us 2use the amenities I paid for. She said "i'm not going 2argue with you either. I'll go get you a refund." I waited in the lobby for paperwork about me checking out &a refund &the rude manager told me "you can leave". I asked if I can get some paperwork on my credit &she said "U don't need paperwork, I am on the phone with booking 4your refund. U can leave". I went back to the room &packed everything &we went check N2 another hotel, that was fantastic &the customer service &food were amazing. Glad we made the change! However, switching hotels my daughter also accidentally forgot 1 of her airpods there. I immediately called to tell them that &even offered a finders fee in which they declined. I called 3 mornings in a row &they claimed they didn't find it. They could have easily let me go back &look. Since then my daughter's airpod has been found/stolen &disconnected. I wouldn't recommend this hotel 2my dog. ALSO, I NEVER RECEIVED A REFUND! I was promised 5-7 working days, then 14 days, and now the manager said "well it depends if it was refundable or not" which wasn't her story when I was in the lobby &she dismissed me telling me I would get my refund. She also said she would have the person above her call or email me about my refund &that never happened. Save yourself the headache and money &book...
Read moreI am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at The President Hotel South Beach on Wednesday, August 5th - August 6th. While the room itself was pleasant for the price, my overall experience was overshadowed by what I believe was false advertising regarding your pool access, resulting in significant disappointment, particularly for my 7-year-old daughter.||Background:|On Wednesday, August 6th, during a day trip from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, my daughter expressed excitement about swimming, either in the sea or in a nice hotel pool. After researching for over half an hour, I selected your hotel specifically because your listing clearly stated:||“Pool available 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM.”||We checked in at approximately 4:30 PM. After enjoying the beach for two hours, we returned to the hotel to use the pool, only to find that everything went downhill from there.||The Problem:|The elevator to the pool (located in a completely different adjacent building) was not functioning properly. When I inquired at the front desk, I was told bluntly, “Oh, that's because the pool is closed.”||When I asked why, pointing out that it was before 8:00 PM and that the pool was the reason I booked, the staff member gave no explanation, no apology, and no effort to resolve the issue. Another guest expressed the same frustration, and when we requested to speak to a supervisor, we were told none was available and that no one could be called. After 20 minutes of back-and-forth, we were simply told to “come back at 8:00 AM.” The front desk staff at the time was robotic, unapologetic, and did not offer any explanation for this immense inconvenience.||Day Two – Still No Pool:|The next morning, after breakfast, my daughter and I got ready to finally enjoy the pool before checkout. But guess what? At 10:00 AM, still no access. This time, a supervisor was present. She apologized for the inconvenience the day before and explained that the pool had been treated with chemicals and would reopen at midday. She encouraged us to wait, and we waited.||At 11:00am, a whole hour later, I inquired for an update to ensure we would not be disappointed again. Thankfully, she said it's still set for midday, but that someone would go check the pool to see if it could be open sooner. That was the first time my daughter smiled. We waited, waited, and waited. At 11:30, I walked to the Supervisor again for an update, and this is when we got CRUSHED.||The supervisor brought out a sign stating that the pool would remain closed for two days!!!!! This was not only extremely frustrating but also heartbreaking for my daughter, who had been looking forward to it since booking. It is the ONLY reason why we booked.||The supervisor 'apologized' and said she would look into compensation, but could not immediately look into it because their 'system was down'. She said she had my info and would be in contact, but a week has since passed with no resolution to date. This is further upsetting.|||Your property advertised pool access as a feature available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, yet it was completely unavailable during my entire stay. No prior warning was given. No compensation was offered. This is a clear case of misrepresentation of services, something that in many jurisdictions is considered deceptive or even unlawful.||I documented other guests approaching the front desk with the same disappointment and confusion, proving this was not an...
Read moreEven though I only stayed here for a single night, the hotel and staff were so great I had to leave a review. I arrived early and figured I would have to wait two hours until my check in time but they were able to get me a room right away. The Room itself was beautiful, floor length mirrors on one wall and a floor length mirrored closet. The entire thing looked very modern but still matched the all white beach theme the place had going on. The bathroom was amazing as well and I felt kind of bad that I didn't even get to use most of the amenities because I went straight to the beach and then met friends. There is a rooftop pool that I didn't use but I did go up to check it out. It is relatively small but the view and the vibe was great. They even have a person posted at the pool who hands out their own info if you want to call them for anything pool related. It is only one block from the beach, and there is a walgreens less than a block away as well and walking distance to all sorts of amazing places in South Beach.
They give you two drink tickets for happy hour drinks. I figured they would be watered down but the drinks were great and the bartender was amazing as well.
Next day I had the breakfast buffet which was a continental style breakfast but all cooked fresh there and served by staff. They have their own on call taxi drivers and the doorman will give you price quotes so you can compare to Uber/lyft and choose which one to take. I took the taxi and the doorman took all my bags and loaded everything for me and gave me updates on the taxi while I was waiting, on top of all the other people he was also helping. The taxi driver was also very lovely and I had a great ride to the air bnb I was staying at with friends. I don't remember how much I paid but it was very low for the location (it was a weekday so maybe that is why) so I was pretty blown away by the complete red carpet treatment I got for only staying there a single night.
I wish I had more stuff to add but I was there for a very short time, I would absolutely book there again though if I go back to Miami. Thanks for the great stay...
