Update: They did provide a full refund minus that night we spent there and the day we spent waiting for them to make a decision.
But I would still please stay away from this property at all cost. We got here on 12/18 along with our 12 month old baby. Here are the reasons you should STAY AWAY!:
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT LUXURY!!
The owner doesn't not care that we had to sleep in a freezing apartment with our infant. We were forced to sleep with our baby between us because of the extremely low temperatures in the apartment. We had to cover his body while trying to sleep ourselves and ensure his head never gets covered. The lack of heating made the place inhabitable and was a health and safety violation.
Instead of providing a refund and sending us on our way, he refuses to accept any accountability for not providing what's advertised. Equivalent to defrauding hardworking people of their hard earned money.
He is trying to force us to stay in the freezing apartment with our 12 month old by offering space heaters, another hazard given that we have a toddler.
1). Other folks have spoken about pest infestations which include bed bugs. If you are one of the unlucky ones, they will travel back to your house and cost a whole lot.
3). The air conditioning does not work properly and the heat did not work. Per the weather forecast, there was a cold front that took the weather down to about 40 F which is pretty cold, especially for a 12 month old. The front desk person tried to turn it on but noted that it indeed was not functioning and we were forced to sleep in an extremely cold apartment with a baby. Maintenance guy came up with the manager the next day and said they needed to get an expert to fix it. Still no heat at that time. It's 1:44pm the next day and there is still no heat.
2). I work remotely and realized that there is no secure WiFi network available. The network name that they provide does not exist, they blame it on a storm that never happened and refer you to an insecure network.
3). The master bedroom smells unclean and moldy. With damaged walls that were filled with putty to get ready for the next victim.
4). The furniture and appliances are super dated, e.g., the washer and dryer are from the 1990s. The same is true for the furniture and the 32" old television that keeps flickering when on.
5). The kitchen faucet is gross and the joint is cover with mildew/mold. The pictures are attached.
6). The walls are paper thin and damaged. There are scrapes and dirt on the walls that have not been painted or cleaned in a very long time.
7). The refrigerator is as dated as the washer/dryer with the filter door on the bottom sticking out. Pictures also attached too.
8). Rocking and chipped glass coffee table. With a 12 month old, a chipped glass coffee table is a hazard. My wife cut her leg on this table.
9). There is a dining table that's also rocking and is hardly practical for use.
10). I seriously can't believe they have 1 television from the late 90s in the living room of a 2 bedroom rental.
The property was not as advertised. When a property is marketed in a certain manner, guests reasonably expect the described conditions to be accurate- this constitutedls false...
Read moreWell the accommodations seemed nice when we walked in. We chose an apartment made four 4 people. We had 3 chairs.
We asked for a couple extra towels (4 women with 4 towels supplied). If you would like more towels, $15 per extra towel. Are you Fricken out of your mind? We supply you with a washer and dryer... do your own laundry and wash your own towels. OK. .then....
Tap in tub doesn't work. OK. ... we are providing you with a new room. OK. .. 3 calls. ... when are you getting out of the room so we can fix the tap? When are you helping us move our luggage and the 3 days of groceries we just bought. We can probably send you someone. When do you want him? When do you want us out of the room? Bell hop never showed. We had to go get luggage carts, we had to move our stuff to the building across the street. We had to bring the carts back down.
Oh look, the bed is smaller. Let's call reception. Oh look, the phone doesn't work.
Oh look, only 3 drinking glasses.
Oh look, no TV in the living room like the first apartment had which means that the people sleeping in the living room better have a tablet with an internet TV service that they are providing themselves.
Our nice view of the pool with a sizable balcony permitting us to actually eat out there that was in the first apartment? What did we get you ask? An elongated balcony with a view on a dirty back alley and a parking lot.
Oh look, we want a rebate. Sorry, these circumstances are out of our control. No discount for you. Are you serious? Really?
Wow!
Guess who is speaking to a manager in the morning.
Oh wait, positive aspects of the new apartment that the first one didnt have:
4 chairs A sifter A potato pealer More than one serrated carving knife. 2 frying pans One large pot (to boil pasta ) Larger kitchen counter space A walk in closet (how long do you expect us to stay here?)
The couch is really not comfortable. Didn't have time to try the first one to compare.
The personnel was polite and good looking. So was my X that I couldn't wait to get rid of since results are all that really matter.
I'll continue this review upon obtaining a response from the manager in the morning.
So manager hadn't arrive when we needed to leave. We had no water pressure in the morning so the toilet wouldn't even flush. Called front desk... sorry, maintenance not in till later... great! Just fix it before we get back this evening.
The vent was so noisy, it kept us up most of the night.
..... to be continued. .....
The manager never messaged me for my phone number. At checkout we only got credited our registration fee which was minor. They refused to compensate any more.
This review will be posted on the various sites that...
Read moreI recently stayed here for the Music Festival for 3 nights. At first it was everything I wanted in Miami. Big condo. Great view. Great atmosphere. As with most hotels they have a policy of no smoking. Respectfully I sign the agreement of no smoking with no issues. My friends and I were bought some cigars and we're smoking them on South Beach. We put them out and shoved them in our pockets. The next day we were going to finish our cigars. We walked out of our rooms and took the cigars out of our pockets and waited for the elevator. Mind you the cigar has not been lit since the night before. We met a seemingly house cleaning lady. We had a great conversation. She was from Columbia. We left the hotel and lit the cigar in my car and continued on our way. I get a call from the hotel saying I was smoking in the hallway AND the elevator! I went back to the hotel and tried to make my case the cigar was not lit and we definitely did not smoke it. I asked the front desk lady to call the Columbian housekeeping lady so she can plead my case. That "nice" lady is the one that lied on me and my party in our faces and said we put the cigar to our mouth and smoked it. As we argued she changed her story stating we had another person with us. They were dead set on charging me $200 for something I did wrong. Granted the cigar did smell and I apologise for taking it out of my pocket HOWEVER I did not violate the agreement because it was not lit nor did I smoke it. The front desk people were EXTREMELY disrespectful because when they decides to have a conversation among themselves they start to speak Spanish!! And had the nerve to say force of habit. I finally talked to the GM she said she will check the camera and if our story checks out the $200 with be waved. Sure enough I got a call and they apologized for the inconveniences. This place has great rooms but there staff is extremely disrespectful and will try to charge you every chance they get. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone. The nicest person I met was the Valet guy parking my car. I really considered checking out early because that genuinely made me and my party upset. I really hope they retrain there staff or something because that was one of the most disrespectful experiences I had at a hotel. Like even the GM started speaking Spanish to the front desk and I had to stop her and tell the GM "hey sorry but please do not discuss my problem to your employees in front of me when we ALL clearly speak English" Super 8 probably has a better...
