Super 8 by Wyndham Mount Laurel — Hotel in Mount Laurel Township

How to start….

We came down from Montreal and needed a place to sleep before an Event in Atlantic City. We saw on the road an hotel that was around 120$ ish USD near the turnpike. Location was okay, there was restaurants around, near the turnpike and near the highway, also near a walmart for groceries and etc…

When they say « breakfast included » they mean toasts if there’s bread left after 6am and stale coffee but no cups.

The strong smell of humidity is something we expected, but when we got to the second floor to find our room, we were heavily hit by a smell of garbages that looked like they haven’t been taken out for days ( and we saw the garbages and all the juice they were leaking near the elevator, the didn’t even hide it)

We made our way to the room because we still paid our 288$ USD for 2 nights ( which is crazy, my van is cleaner than this ) and opened the door. The smell was okay, it was less heavy in terms of humidity, the toilet wasn’t flushed and someone had the kindness of making a huge dump and leaving it there just for us as a welcome gift. The smoke detector was somehow wrapped in a plastic film, which was weird and the bed was full of stains. We talked about it with the girl in the down lobby who said she’d be right back but actually never came back after 20min of waiting.

I asked for a refund the next day and got the same treatment, not even an offer to change a room. At the lobby an other man was complaining that the AC was not working and the TV either in his room and they switched him from room to room three times before he got something that actually worked

The AC was SUPER loud, it’s a bit hard to sleep while it’s on but it’s better than no AC i guess. As ironic as it seems, the TV was not working either in our room.

The cherry on the top, when we left, someone was finally at the lobby and told me i could’ve got a refund for the second night at least if i asked earlier ( which i did but still didn’t got anything since they left everytime ). We went packing the car and a naked man was scratching his genitals in the window on the second floor next to the main entrance and had a big smile on his face when he saw people outside.

When i dropped off the keys and told the personnel in the lobby, they were laughing.

Stay away from this...

If it wasn't for the manager Casey and two other customer service reps name Jordan and 'Q' I would give this place a 2 star. Casey is so nice, she's very helpful so is Jordan and 'Q' I deal with the three of them mostly, they were all very polite and super helpful, their customer service skills were well professional . My room was nice and I was comfortable. AND NOW FOR THE NEGATIVE PART, THIS HEAVY SET GUY THAT I DONT KNOW HIS NAME WORKS AT NIGHT AT THE FRONT DESK ALWAYS SITTING ON HIS CHAIR AND SEEMS TO DONT LIKE TO BE BOTHERED IF A CUSTOMER WANTS HELP. CASEY, JORDAN AND 'Q' IS ALWAYS STANDING WHILE DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS BUT HES ALWAYS SITTING, SO UNPROFESSIONAL. ONE NIGHT MY KEY FOR MY ROOM DOOR WAS NOT WORKING, SO I WENT DOWN STAIRS TO ASK HIM FOR A NEW KEY, HE LOOKED AT ME LIKE HE WAS SAYING TO HIMSELF 'WHY IS THIS LADY BOTHERING ME' THE WAY HE TOOK THE KEY THAT WAS NOT WORKING OUT OF MY HAND WAS NOT NICE. THEN LASTNITE AFTER 9PM AT NIGHT WHEN I WAS READY TO GO TO BED I HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING ON MY ROOM DOOR, MY BOYFRIEND WAS AT WORK SO I KNEW IT WASNT HIM PLUS HE WOULD HAVE A KEY TO LET HIMSELF IN, SO I GOT UP AND OPEN THE DOOR AND THERE HE WAS.I HAD A BALANCE OF 20.00 DOLLARS YESTERDAY, OUR DEBIT CARD WAS ON FILE AND HE COULD OF JUST GO ON THE COMPUTER AND TAKE THE MONEY, WELL HE MADE IT HIS JOB TO WALK ALL THE WAY UP THE STAIRS TO THE 4TH FLOOR JUST TO KNOCK ON MY ROOM DOOR SO LATE TO ASK ME FOR THE 20.00 DOLLARS, HE SAID 'I WANT IT NOW' I ASK HIM WHY DIDNT HE TOOK IT AUTOMATICALLY OF MY DEBIT CARD, HIS EXPLANATION MADE NO SENSE, WHICH MONEY WAS ON MY CARD. I GAVE HIM A LITTLE OVER 20.00 DOLLARS IN CASH, HE ASK ME IF I WANT MY CHANGE BACK I TOLD HIM NO KEEP IT, I WAS TOO ANGRY TO EVEN LOOK AT HIM. ITS NICE HERE, I WOULD RECOMMEND SUPER 8 TO ANYONE BUT AVOID THAT MONSTER, ASK FOR CASEY, JORDAN OR 'Q' THEY WILL HELP YOU IN A NICE AND POLITE WAY BUT PLZ AVOID...

SUPER 8 I’m not thrilled at all with this stay. Free WiFi huh. Internet never worked in this room the whole stay. Guess what. I had to use my hotspot data to watch any type of tv. Chair in the room was broken. Stains all over the carpet, toilet paper holder broken. Please watch out as this could cut a child in the bathroom. Hotel hallways have either some sort of mini split unit. They were disgusting and black. Trash on the grounds were there from the time we checked in to the time we left. What is the point of having a door with no access if you leave it propped opened with trash. For some reason Super 8 believes their price rates are correct for some odd reason. Not sure what was over the main door to the room. It was either black mold or some type of smoke. Light fixtures were falling out of the ceiling and lampshades were broken. A/C did work great in the room. It was very hot hot and muggy outside. Ice machine and vending are only located on first and third floor. But watch out for guest filling coolers. Ice machine on the third floor was completely empty. NOW TO THE BED. Hotel policy is not to smoke in the room but the one blanket had nothing but cigarette burns all in it. The top and fitted sheets were clean. But the mattress cover was filthy. Had hairs and was picked be on belief. No bugs tho. But I still can’t get over the fact I paid over 200$ for this room and then had to use my own internet when it clearly states free WiFi. I will be reaching out to Super 8.
