Rented the room just to shower because my husband and I are remodeling our bathroom. We checked in to get keys around 9:15pm, but never went to room before we went home to get belongings to shower. Once we arrived back at the hotel around 1:50am and went to our room(230), as we were checking the room to make sure everything was working properly. As soon as we turned the light on in the bathroom, there were large roaches crawling all over the towels and tub. The chairs and sheets had visible semen stains all over them. The refrigerator was filthy and had roach eggs on the seal of it. When my husband went to the front desk to report this and ask for a different room, he was informed he could upgrade the room. After we refused to pay for an upgrade, we were told we could email the manager because he was the only one that could approve for a new room. Being that we booked the room through priceline, I had to wait until there customer service opened to report the incident and request a refund. When priceline contacted the hotel to get an approval to refund me, the manager(Samir) denied the refund immediately. Priceline informed me that I could contact the hotel and speak directly with the manager. When I called the hotel to speak with him, he refused to speak and told his employee to tell me to email him. My husband and I drove to the hotel to speak directly with the manager about the situation. When we arrived he was at the front desk helping a customer. When it was our time to be serviced, he tried to pretend he had something he needed to do. I told him I needed to speak with Samir (himself) in regards to the condition of the room. When explaining to him about the room, he asked if I had proof of this. When I showed him the pictures, he asked for the room number to go and check. We stood there waiting for at least 30 minutes for him to return but he never did. As we continued to wait in the lobby, two police officers arrived at the hotel asking what the problem was. We explained to the officers what happened when we arrived the night before and showed them the pictures of the room. The officers expressed how they didn't blame us requesting a refund and couldn't understand why they were being called to the scene over the situation. We continued to wait at least another 30 minutes before the manager came down. When he did, it was only to get someone. One of the officers asked to speak with him about the issue and requested to see the room. Shortly after, the officer returned shaking his head and expressed he didn't blame us for complaining about the room. We told the officers all we wanted was our money back because we never used to room. He went to speak with the manager about approving a refund when priceline contacted them, but he still refused. His reason for refusing was due to us checking in after 9pm, but we didn't report the situation until after 2am. Also room 220 didn't have a lock on it and anyone could just walk in. VERY UNSAFE!!! This was the WORST experience ever and I would NEVER recommend anyone to stay there DUE TO POOR HEALTH HAZARD AND POOR...

This place is a dump. I would not recommend. We booked the stay for Saturday, May 4, 2024. After driving 5 hours to get in town, my family and I just wanted to check in and rest. Upon pulling into the driveway, there were a lot of cars in the parking lot, target shopping carts and three people outside selling drugs. I had to get my two kids passed the drug dealers to go inside and check in. After checking in, I went to the room while my husband and kids went to the car to gather all our belongs as we weren't gonna leave anything in our car.
As I opened the door to our non smoking room, the room smelled like someone smoked five packs of cigarettes in the room. Whoever stayed in that room last also unplugged the smoke detector, the battery was ajar. I turned the light on into the bathroom and there were no towels in there at all. I went to the front desk and told the lady there and she gets me towels and an almost empty bottle to try and get the smoke smell out of the room. That didn't work. My husband and I tried to make it work by opening the window. The outside screen was broken so we closed the window, tried to lock it and barricade the window so no one could get inside. I sit on the bed and lift the covers to find yellow stains on the bed sheets and black/gray fuzzy stuff all over. I tell the kids and my husband to pack things up and found a new hotel for the night.
We literally spent 15 minutes in the room and packed up our things and went to the front desk to ask for a refund and return our keys. The lady says it says right on the bottom of the receipt that after I give you the keys then there are no refunds. Well I expected the room to at least be decent but it was filthy. She tells me I can email management and see what they will say. So, we left and I booked at a different hotel (5stars) and I emailed management. I emailed management at 11:16 p.m. Saturday May 4, 2024 and on Sunday May 5, 2024 I get this from management:
Good morning,
We apologize to hear your experience with us. Our team is looking further into the matter and if the issues you mentioned are true then we will issue a partial refund to your account.
Give us 2-3 business days to determine a resolution for you.
Thank you!
I left them my phone number to get someone to call me back. Now Monday May 6, 2024 I still haven't gotten a call but I will give them until Friday May 10, 2024. I am outraged at how they conduct business and I will be contacting the Department of Health and notifying of the uncleanliness...
Read moreI was attending a family wedding in Racine, WI, I stayed at this hotel 5/2-5/5 and brought my furbaby (my medium sized dog). My room was on the first floor and I had to rehang the drapes because people could still look in the window when the drapes were closed. The room smelled moldy, drawers were broken, and the pillows were flat and lumpy (among other things) - after driving for 14 hours I was too tired to complain.
The second night of my stay I was awakened at 1am to noise from the room above me. I waited for an hour for the running, jumping, and stomping to stop before heading to the front desk. I was told that a mother and two toddlers were above me. The person at the front desk said she could call the guest and ask her to try to keep the noise down. The noise continued for hours. The second night I experienced the same racket above me - two nights with very little sleep.
My son lives in Racine, WI and he visited me in my room on Saturday (before and after the wedding and he brought his little dog (my fur-grandbaby) with him. Neither him nor his dog stayed in the room, other than visiting before and after the wedding. (He did bring her little crate, it contains her bed that she naps in).
As far as my dog, she was never left in the room unattended (except when I went to get coffee/breakfast). I am training her to be a service dog, she goes everywhere with me so I never left the property without her. (And my son took his dog with him when we left to go to the wedding.
With all that said on the subject of pets, I checked out this morning and drove the 14 hours home. Upon checking my bank account I see an "additional" America's Best Value charge of $60. I called the phone number on my receipt and was told I was charged an additional 3 day pet fee for my second dog. First, I do NOT have a second dog. Second, my son came over Saturday morning with his dog - they stayed for about an hour then the both of us and the dogs left the room until about 6p (then my son AND his dog and crate left about 9:30p).
I can forgive the lousy room I walked into and even forget about the noisy, sleepless nights. But I do NOT agree with and will not accept being charged an extra $60 pet fee ($20 a night for 3 nights). I ONLY HAVE ONE DOG!
I will be calling the RLH corporate office and relaying to them, in greater detail, of my experience with the America's Best Value Inn in Racine WI. I travel to Racine often and this hotel will NEVER get my...
