This was absolutely the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at!! Our local Holiday inn is better than this "Resort". First and foremost I wasn’t aware that there was no on site parking you have to walk 2 blocks just to get to your vehicle to go anywhere. The room was absolutely disgusting, sand on the floor when we first got in the room, bed was creaky every time you moved and very uncomfortable, flat pillows and ones in my opinion need to be thrown out, our bed sheets had stains and sand in them like they never have been changed or even washed. Balcony was so small you could barely even walk on it. The bathroom was also very small you couldn’t have two people in it at one time getting ready. You have to ask for new towels, the lady at the front desk acted like the towels were coming from her paycheck (like she didn’t want to give us any). Shower was absolutely disgusting there was still hair on the shower wall and sand by the drain, it had not been cleaned at all. I’ve worked in housekeeping before and this was absolutely horrendous, It was made too look like it was cleaned but wasn’t. We didn’t even have anyone take our trash I had to take my own trash to the trash cans. I understand the hotel was (cheap) and you get what you paid for but basic cleanliness shouldn’t be a issue and definitely something you shouldn’t have to pay extra for!! They wanted extra money to clean your room for you! Which should already be done!! I originally booked a different hotel and couldn’t stay due to plumbing problems, I picked this hotel because it had a kitchen to save money on breakfast and lunch, to just arrive and find out there was no utensils, plates, glasses, pots and pans nothing to cook with. Not to mention the fire alarm went off and everyone had to evacuate the building when we had tickets to a dolphin cruise that we were unable to go to because we couldn’t get into our room to get ready or get our car keys. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone!!! It honestly needs shut down and based on the reviews I’m surprised it’s not been already, I just wish I had seen them before booking. You would think management would look at these reviews and see that the rooms were horrible and due a through inspection of each room before guest arrive to take care of the cleanliness problem at least!! This hotel is a DUMP.

Let me start off by saying this..."OYO" is totally On Your Own. We wanted a long weekend get away and the price was right and the photos looked great. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and what a hot mess this entire hotel is. 1) Upon check in our room was to be a King Suite, however we were put in a king efficiency room which smelled of smoke. (2) Went to the front desk and asked for another room, well this room didn't smell of smoke, but it was the only other room they had. (3) We should have been in a King Suite but was in a king size efficiency. There are a number of things that were wrong with stay. I am going to leave a long list and I cannot make this stuff up. There was no silverware, cookware, pots or pans, dishes, glasses or even coffee cups. There was no table to eat on (even though it is a kitchenette), the so called sofa (chaise style without the cushions) was so stained, we had to ask for a sheet to put over it so we could sit on the sofa. There was not a security lock on the front door, the doorwall did not have a lock, the refrigerator did not have any door shelves, the cripser was broken, the floor was filthy and they couldn't do anything about it. We bought an $18 pot and pan set so we could cook in the morning, but decided we can't stay here. We checked out the very next day. We purchased this through Priceline and when we did ask for our money back, the girl at the desk said she could not make that decision. I asked who could and she stated the Manager. I said I want to talk to her and her response was that she was not in until Monday and she was unable to call her. What a rip off this is. My husband and I have been relentless with Priceline and we were finally refunded for the nights we did not stay. Take heed every one. This place will not be in business for long. The lobby was filthy and I will NEVER stay in Myrtle Beach again. I should have know from previous experiences as with the Dayton House. Go further north or stay at Surfside Beach. You will thank me later. I have to give this a rating of 1 Star but it is most definitely a -1000 Star. I wish I could put the photos on here because you would definitely decide to go some place else.

I rarely leave reviews; however this is the WORSE beach stay ever!!! I booked and paid for my room online for one night since we were headed to another city and paid the deposit upon arrival. We arrived early and was told we'd receive a call when the room was available. That was perfectly okay. She gave us a parking pass and offered us pool usage until. Nice!!!! The kids chose the ocean instead of the pool. I stayed at the beach for 2 hours until 3:30 pm. According to their website: check- in is at 3 pm so I returned to the front to check-in since it was after 3pm. The lady at the front said that my room was still not reporting as ready so she pinged someone on the walkie for a status update on rooms. We left to grab food since the kids were hungry. I didn't receive a callback until almost 5 pm. Upon walking into the room, there was a smell, but I had lysol and cleaner and was going to spray/clean anyway once I checked the room out. My daughter shrieked and stated there was a spider on the night stand. I looked and thought it was just a spot, but once I moved closer, I saw that it was someone's fake eyelashes that were sitting there (not hidden at all so I snapped a few pictures and went to desk- see pictures below). The other woman at the front was very nice and apologetic. She called "head of cleaning" and I showed her the pictures. She stated that she inspected the kitchen and bathrooms and someone else was supposed to inspect beds and that area. SMH! We were moved to another room that we cleaned and sanitized ourselves (the floors were filthy- see pictures below). The kids wanted to connect to wi-fi, but I realized that I did not have its password. I went to call from room and realized that there was not a phone in our room so I went to front, asked for password, and informed them that we didn't have a phone (3 hours later a guy came to room only to say that he checked the phone that he brought with him before he left but guess the jack does not work which is probably why there was not a phone). They are renovating, which is great and I understand that but glass and broken down beds are leaning in places that we as guests have access too (ie as soon as you walk into the front door and ground floor in the 15 minute loading/unloading area. They have freshly painted using a stunning aqua blue and white but the paint does not cover all and the parts showing are extremely dirty areas (horrible paint job). The refrigerator was clean, but the stove was dirty and outdated. The other furniture pieces are nice and look great in the room. The bed was as an okay sleep. However, while sleeping at 9 am, we received knocks on the door. I looked out peephole, and it was a worker with a notepad with room numbers on it. She asked are we checking out today? (First off, your system tells you what I paid for so no need to awaken sleeping guests). She also asked what time are we leaving? (Secondly, your website says check-out is at 11 am so NO need to ask me that at 9 am.. Ask that, if It is 11am and I am still in the room). My alarm was set to wake at 10:30 am since we were tired from flying the previous day. I am leaving this review at 10:30am on July 21 with banging, scraping, and drilling occuring since I was awaken. I have also taken pictures of how organized we left the room and stuff by door left with us (in case they are upset with...

2 stars here is going to be rather generous.... and it is because we had an excellent ocean front balcony with spacious double suite... we stayed with family who booked the hotel for all of us. Definitely would not have been a hotel we would have ever chosen based on the reviews of other guests.

CONS: Don't expect to check in early. Not necessarily a con but when we are told at 340P to come back for our room at 4P and then come back at 410P and to be told it is still not ready... Check in staff was very slow and not so friendly No kitchen/hand/bath/beach towels in the room. Do yourself a favor and get these at check in. The towels you will receive are old, paper thin and scratchy No paper towels, kitchen dish soap, sponge etc. Toilet running and not wanting to flush entire time. Shower/bath clogged up immediately, took half the day to drain Their walkway shower from the beach does not work whatsoever No TV remote for our second room and the one for the living room area had batteries that died after using it twice. Elevator is a nightmare. Each time it took ten minutes just to get to the top floor bc it stops at every.single.floor. It seemed the elevator to the right didn't even work because it never opened the entire two days we were there. I can see why the rooms were behind on getting cleaned. It seems there is no service elevator for housekeeping. Every time the elevator stopped at a floor, there was a housekeeper waiting to get on with their cart but since the elevators were always full, they never could. Lazy river doesn't use tubes Pool area is filthy, make sure to wear shoes if merely walking through it. Parking is across the street (which isn't the worst thing or unheard of for a lot of hotels in this part of Myrtle Beach) but don't expect a garage. There was only one luggage cart up front that we ever saw for the 15 ppl who were waiting in line. If you don't park strategically at the front of the hotel when you are wanting to check in, you could definitely be blocked in and the only way to get out is to reverse back into the main road. We found lots of souvenirs in our room to include empty beer cans on the balcony and under the kitchen sink. The seating is limited, especially for a double room ocean front balcony suite. The only seating in the living room was a chaise lounger type thing and a single chair. There was literally more seating on the balcony then in the entire hotel room. Very limited kitchenware Very outdated furniture/decor Shower hygiene product dispenser empty

PROS: Great oceanfront view Entire hotel room was spacious with a long hallway separating bathroom and rooms from kitchen and living room area Full sized kitchen Hot water Easy access to beach with private walkway 3 pools and a hot tub outdoors 3 block walking distance to mini amusement park No roaches/bed bugs seen

Just know you are paying for easy access to the beach and a place to lay your head. If you can be ok with those two things alone, you will get your bang for...

We should’ve heeded the warnings. After reading all of the other reviews, we were admittedly put off but still wanted to give this place a fair chance. To start things off - Yes, parking is a DISASTER. You have to park across the street and it’s very limited. We got there initially around 12, we knew early check in was subject to availability, which is fine, but the point of this is to say.. there were 3 people at the front desk at this time. They had no available rooms for early check in, which was fine, so we came back at about 4:15 which is their normal check in time. The line was out of the door.. there was one poor girl working the desk and we waited over an hour to get checked into our room. There were people infront of us who’s rooms werent even ready who had reservations and one lady said she didn’t get into their room until 9 pm.

We got into the room, and it was mediocre at best. The view was nice, and the roku tv, but there were lots of little things that could’ve been taken care of. The shower head had pink mold/soap scum build up, the bathroom door hinges had rust, the toilet itself was crooked on the floor, and we had no hot water. I brought it up and joe who was very nice, offered to send maintenance up to fix it, but it was more inconvenience to us than anything as we were in and out of the hotel enjoying our vacation and just wanted to be able to come back and take a hot shower that should’ve worked in the first place (which is expected of people).

The pool, lazy river, and hot tub were nice for the most part, and the direct beach access was also nice. They also had some people downstairs serving mixed drinks and shaved ice which was a bonus.

We did not see any signs of roaches or bedbugs personally, other than some big palmetto bugs down by the pool drains but I think thats to be expected.

Lastly, this morning (our last) as we’re getting ourselves up and ready to pack and leave, housekeeping beats on the door at about 9:30… (checkout isnt until 11, late checkouts acceptable until 12 with no fee.) She said she was just seeing if we were still here.. Okay, a bit annoying but whatever. As we’re moving bags out and helping my brother in law who was in the room beside us she asks us again if we’re done. ..No. We felt very rushed and harassed by her constant nagging, and it seemed that she sat there the whole time hawking over us.

No complimentary breakfast, no housekeeping unless theyre nagging you to hurry up and leave, and yes you do have to go downstairs for fresh linens, but that wasnt a huge problem for us. The left elevator also was out of service off and on and made this terrible creaking sound when it was in operation. The mattress was definitely firm, but what bothered me was the paper thin bedding they had on it.

Overall the experience was pretty meh at best. There’s many other hotels and resorts in the area, so until they can get their shit together, I wouldn’t...
