3/22/2025 Update: Third time was the charm and finally got to have a very good whole pie from Forbidden. Updating from 2 stars to 4 stars. Not perfect for two reasons. 1) We indicated twice to the young man taking our order (who admitted that he was new) that we were dining in and while everyone else sitting in the new dining area were being served their food, we received a text and needed to pick ours up and bring it to our table and eat it out of the box. Not a huge deal, but better attention needs to be paid when taking orders. 2) As good as Forbidden is, they are still quite expensive. Other similar quality spots across the city tend to be a good bit cheaper. If you happen to be visiting and are staying downtown (or happen to live downtown or in the Quarter), Forbidden is a great option that's nearby. But for other locals keep in mind that there are other great options around the city as well that will likely be both easier to get to and less costly Original Review: One hit, one miss. First visited on 2/2/2025 and had excellent slices. Perfect amount of sauce and cheese and baked just right. Had an almost "juicy" quality. So much so that I couldn't wait for superbowl week to pass to bring my fiancée. Well, now post Barstool review they do not seem to be handling the pressure well. Waited for about an hour for a whole pie (burrata bliss). Which, I don't mind the wait. The issue is what we got in exchange for the wait: a cold, dry cracker of a pizza. I was concerned when the lady handed us our box and there was ZERO heat coming from the bottom. But I just kinda shrugged it off and we left because they're so busy. Well, come to find out the pie had basically no sauce or cheese on it and was dry and cold like it had been sitting around for some time. Unlike the first slice with that lovely bright tomato sauce and just right gooey cheese, this was a pizza flavored cracker. Night and day from what I had on our first visit. Guys, I know y'all are getting slammed now due to that review. I can't imagine the pressure everyone must be under now. But please don't let it tank quality and standards. The pizza that I received today should not have been allowed to leave the shop. And I saw a couple others eating outside from both whole pies and slices that varied wildly in how they looked. I really hope you guys are able to bounce back to what I had a couple of weeks ago because it really was excellent.

i The pizza here is fantastic! It’s probably one of the best in New Orleans. I’d probably go there three times a week. One time, I ordered a whole pizza, but since the website doesn’t let you order half cheese and half Italian Stallion, I had to choose Italian Stallion and ask for some items to not be on the other side of the pizza. But there was no option to remove pepperoni from the other half. So, this particular time was my third time ordering it that way. The previous two times, they got it right. This time, I asked for a pizza with just half cheese and half pepperoni, since I had ordered half Italian Stallion and half cheese. Since there was no option to remove pepperoni from the other half, I had to ask for it in the requests like I did the other two times. When I opened the box, I noticed that only two slices of cheese didn’t have pepperoni on them. The other two cheese slices had pepperoni cups on them, like at least five or six. Since I’m not a meat eater, I’m used to maybe two or three accidentally getting on a slice, but this time it was too much. So, I left a voicemail and Pete called me back right away. He told me I could come get another. While on the phone, I realized that they forgot to put the sausage and bacon on the pepperoni side as well. I explained that to him, and he said I could come back the next day to get another. When I came and got the pizza, they made sure the pepperoni wasn’t on the cheese, but the sausage and bacon were still missing. I mean, I couldn’t really get upset because he tried to make it better, but when my boyfriend tried to explain that they got the order wrong again, he basically just told him, like “This is your pizza.” You can’t really argue with him in that situation because he tried to make it better and I appreciate it, but I think maybe it was just busy and he maybe didn’t get what I was saying. So, it was probably a misunderstanding, but the pizza is so good that I’ll give them another try. i’m going to attach a picture of the pizza that wasn’t right and how it was when i would order it before.

I walked from Ceasars all the way to here for this. I only came here cause they had the best reviews when it come down to other pizza spots. But it looks like the people that left reviews don't understand what quality pizza is & this is not it. I do like the way they decorated the pizza. Outside of that, im not coming back here. Ill eat the pizza from Ceasars casino. Response to Owner: I dont give a damn if I gave 5 stars McDonald's & Ihop. At the end of the day I would eat from McDonald's "being the least of my favorite" before I eat from this garbage place. You see how burned up your pizza is that they serve me? Yall pizza is more darker than my skin tone, hell the pepperoni by itself is darker than any parts of my body. Out of all the years eating pizza i never seen a burned pepperoni, are you serious bruh. I dont even get quality like that from McDonald's throughout 39 years of my life span being on this earth 😂😂😂😂😂 who you kidding. Seeing you see where I left my ratings at, Im sure you seen my ratings at Stella's in Collingswood NJ & Stadiums in my hometown in jersey city NJ. Let any one of those spots open up shop anywhere in Downtown N.O I bet ya'll won't have no customers at all cause they'll know what REAL QUALITY pizza is. I'm truly glad you brought up McDonald's ratings honestly cause guess what, I'll eat 6 meals from McDonald's back to back before I get serve yall over burned up, dried up, overpriced crusty the rusty pizza from yall. Hell even my mans that live down here in N.O told me I should've order Domino's instead of ordering this garbage from yall😂😂😂😂😂😂 & i told him i agree. The reviews overhyped this garbage.
