What really got to me was that They have absolutely NO customer service. After trying to reach the hotel for a week before i got there to no avail. I parked in front of the hotel where it clearly stated 1hr parking I even paid a toll just in case. I walked in and the receptionist was sleeping on the desk. I literally had to knock on the desk to wake her up. And then with no apologies she asks "can I help you" like I was disturbing her. I asked why we couldn't contact the hotel that I was worried about my reservation and she tells me that they have been experiencing telephone and internet issues for a couple weeks. No the less, our reservation is there. We checked in. She confirmed that she had parking in the back. This process took about 15mins. I go to park my car in the back and BAM! A freaking $115 ticket. I chalk it up to me not knowing the city and accept the ticket. I had to drive around the block twice to find the ally way where the parking lot was. Its to the Left of the giant fountain btw. And you car WILL scrape on the concrete going into it. You have to make a left turn at a right angle and then try to get around the cars that are already parked there and make a right turn into the parking space at another right angle. While avoiding the walls. Its literally 8 parking spots with every car blocking each other. So you have to leave your keys at the front desk so that if another car wants to move they have to move everyone's car. Oh and if you don't get there early enough that a parking is available, you're screwed and have to find a parking on the street. Happy hunting.... The room itself wasn't horrible. But It obviously wasn't clean too good. Just made to "look clean" at first glance. ... Now let's get to the complimentary breakfast. This is their menu; cup or roman noodles, cold frozen pancake and waffles with no syrup and their toaster didn't work. Boils egg, white slice bread, 5 orange slices, and Chinese pourage. Coffee with no sugar or creamer, and tiny packets of peanut butter and jelly..... I made sure to put the little thing on the door that saod i would like my room cleaned before i left. I was gone for a full day and i came back to and unclean room. I went down to the front desk and the receptionist tells me that the 1 cleaning guy they have already did my floor. Obviously he skipped my room. The receptionist then asks if I want my room clean now. I said yes I've been gone all day. It should have been clean already. I go back upstairs and wait an hour and a half for the cleaning guy to get there. He knocks once and then just opens the door. And proceeds to set up. I waited in the hall way for 30 mins for him to be done. All he did was fix the beds and replace the toiletries and trash. Nothing was wiped or vacuumed or swept. .I asked for an extra pillow and towel and was told that they don't have extras..... On our way out of the tiny parking lot, there was a car about to enter the lot but of course there's only room for one car at a time down the ally way. There is no way possible for me to back up and return to the parking lot so I ask him to let me out before he comes in. He calls me a moron and tells me that this is a one way. BUT THERE IS NO OTHER EXIT IN THAT PARKING LOT. I tell him I'm staying here so I have a right to come through here and he stay that he Works there and that I need to let him in. .... These are the people and the type of service that you will get at this hotel. If you are okay with paying for that kind of service, then this is a good hotel for you. I however am not. So this will be my first and last stay. If I could give 0...
Read moreYou definitely get what you pay for. This is a good budget choice for people who want to save money, pack EVERYTHING they need in a hotel, and don't need ANYTHING from the front desk. We stayed for three nights and I don't know if I could have done another. The biggest plus is that it's a very short walk from the subway station 7 line, which you can ride the whole way into Times Square. The pictures of the front are outdated; there's not a sign for a fedex, there's a sign for a liquor store. It's never a good sign to pull up to your hotel in a taxi and immediately think "where is it? are we at the wrong address?" before realizing that HERE is where you're going to be sleeping.
Both front desk people we talked to were rude and standoffish, and gave the impression that we were greatly inconveniencing them by checking in, checking out, or asking a question. Upon arrival we were charged $100 to our card for the room key and security deposit, but the front desk lady said it was just a hold on the card--no, it was a charge that's refunded after you check out and after they clean the room. The refund takes a lot longer to post than a released hold on a credit card, which is more annoying than anything, but it would have been nice to know that it wasn't just a hold. Day two we were woken up by a false fire alarm on our floor (8:30am, but 5:30am for us jetlagged folks) when I went downstairs to ask about it, the front desk lady demanded to know if I had just woken up (yes) and if it was still going off (yes). She said "okay, fine." and then looked back at her phone, so I took that to mean someone was already being asked to look at it. It went off for another 20 minutes. We prefer to not have the room cleaned/bed made, but the room didn't have a "do not disturb" door hanger--we asked for one, and she just asked for what room we were in, we clarified three times that we did NOT want maid service, then she said "okay, fine." and looked at her phone. The maid still cleaned the room and made the bed.
The room was fine--it was definitely just a place to sleep and very little else. There's a bed and a bathroom with a shower, a few lights, and some small nightstands and tables. The bed was clean, but not comfortable. The view from our room was the dingy parking lot and the back of a billboard. There was a TV in the wall but the remote didn't work. The wifi disconnected itself pretty often. The water pressure in the toilet was abysmal--anything beyond urine required two or three (or more) flushes. There was no hand soap and we were afraid to ask the desk for anything at that point, but thankfully we had a bar of hotel soap from a different trip. I thought maybe it had been an oversight, but we didn't get any soap even after the maid cleaned the room. They just don't give you hand soap.
Overall I wouldn't stay here again. The money saved wasn't worth the effort and...
Read moreI have NEVER experience such HORRID customer service in my life and I am a avid traveler. If you are expecting to have a clean, friendly, relaxing experience sleeping in a hotel, look elsewhere. This place smells like stale cigs and vomit. NO JOKE. im not a picky person. I just care that I have television and that the beds are clean and the bathroom looks maintained. The room was kind of clean. I didn't really feel dirty here but what happened next is just a joke! It was the last of four nights staying here. we went to a comedy show in Manhattan and came back. our flight left at 9 am the next day, so we had needed to pack up and stuff and planned on checking out around 6:30. We went to open the door and it didn't work. came downstairs and told them and they came up to try to open it. after realizing the card dealer was broken, he said "well what we can do for you is let you sleep in that room (right down the hall) for free tonight. I said "we have a flight to catch in the morning!!! when can someone be here to open the door?" he said "well someone comes at 6 but the person who can probably open it comes around 8 or 9" .......are you kidding me........ so I had to switch my flight, resulting in a $250 fee for EACH TICKET!! the next morning I called down at 7 and said...is someone here yet to open the door...nope... called at 8....here yet???.....nope they called me at 8:30 to ask what time I left the night before to go out..please explain to me what that has to do with ANYTHING?! so (still wearing the same clothes I was wearing last night) I marched down to the front desk...and they literally made it seem like it was my fault. they said if I would have told the front desk that we absolutely needed to get in the room, they would have called someone. I said "I told the guy I had a freakin flight to catch!! and that all of our medicine and stuff was in that room" they said well its your word against his. HAHA!! what a joke!!!! they then said that the most they could do for me is to NOT charge me for the room we had to sleep in. so I paid full price for my room there, I not only slept in my street clothes, but am diabetic and was without my insulin, AND had to pay over $500 do reschedule my flight. I had to pay more in taxi fees. I had to rearrange my ride to pick me up at the airport. and all they did was say "sorry"
I have emailed, called, left messages, etc and they refuse to do anything for me. I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER stay there or recommend them to my worst enemy!
please for the sake of your wallet, stay...
