Read moreThis location of Hey Tea is definitely a busy one! If you didn't find a crowd during your order, then you're lucky! The store is spacious but in a weird way: there are some seats but they are planned in a way so that there's more room for people to stand/move. I do understand that they're primarily a to-go spot.
One thing that bothered me was the accessibility of the menu. They only have the menu on a tiny digital screen which is really at the cashier's desk and you're only able to take a proper look at it when you're close to the cashier. In other words, you can only read the menu by holding the line. Now this is a very busy location, and doing that slows up the ordering process. There are a few bigger digital screens, but I think they're a waste because they only show one or two images of selected drinks and only display their name. They really need to use those bigger digital boards to display their full menu.
Sometimes it's hard to hear the cashiers because of the crowd, they try their best to call your order number as loudly as they can, which made me feel really bad for them. The cashiers could be given a mic or maybe customers should get text notifications when their order is ready. No cashier should be yelling and hurting their throats. There's a board that displays the order numbers once they're ready, but then it's hard to see your number when you have 20 other order numbers alongside and if you're standing away from it.
Since this was my first time and I didn't want to hold the line, I just ordered the Coconut Mango Boom that was advertised on the bigger digital board. The cashier was sweet and helpful, asked me if I wanted to customize the order, I was so confused as I took a look at that tiny screen menu and anxious, I just requested to have zero cal sugar in my drink while keeping everything the same.
The drink tasted alright, it also had sago. It's worth a shot if you want to try...
Read moreI been to the Midtown location so many times because I was in love with the drinks there. When I heard they opened a new one in flushing I got so excited. I waited in line today for almost a hour and who's not excited to buy 1 drink get 1 free. When I got to the front of the line I made my order and they tell me it is 1 free drink PER ORDER instead of buy 1 drink get 1 free. I was ordering so many drinks it messed up my order and my friends were like they will order theirs and the worker was like if you guys need more time to think leave the line. Me and my friends were left speechless, it is not like we didn't wait in line and also the way they advertised was wrong, the fliers they were handing out printed "buy one get one". I ended up buying all the drinks, I was totally fine with it, I like the drinks a lot. Costumer service could've been better, I know they were busy but still could've been more polite, especially when we waited in the sun and in line for like almost a hour. I did speak to another worker afterwards asking about the advertising making sure I didn't get scam by that rude worker. He was nice and apologizing for that lady or else the service I would rate it 1 star. I waited like another 20 minutes and got my drink, all I can say is I am disappointed. It had less toppings and flavor compared to the one in midtown. I don't think I would be back to the flushing location, I will stick with my midtown location, much better service and taste. Disappointed with Heytea for...
