I steered my daughter to Havertys so she could purchase her first bed and desk, instead of using rooms to go.
the purchasing experience was good, but it was after the sale that Havertys became a mess.
Bought a bed and desk on June 3rd, explaining that the deliver needed to made on July 1st. Reached the email confirming a July 1st delivery. Later received email confirming a delivery time betwen 430pm-630pm. Received a call saying the delivery was doing to be around 730pm, and that was no problem.
Before 9pm received a call saying the delivery cannot be made Saturday because the drivers exceeded over time and the delivery was rescheduled for Friday July 7th(this done without even calling the customer to consult). I watched the GPS tracking of the truck drive right past my daughter's place and saw the GPS showing the delivery truck back at Havertys on Rivers Avenue, North Charleston.
Why was my daughter delivery not given priority since Havertys made the mistake, over another delivery. A delivery for Monday should have been schedule for my daughter.
Meantime my daughter is now sleeping on the floor, because of Havertys mistake.
Went to the sales room and the sales person said they cannot do anything and they have nobody to contact. So no help available to see about getting the furniture.
I never had Rooms To Go miss a delivery in the 20+ years of purchasing. Havertys has really created a bad impression to a first time buyer due to how this situation is being handled.
Please don't respond with "customer please call the store manager", it should be the store manager reaching out to the customer to get this resolved.
Talked to customer service, so if Havertys makes a mistake it is the customer problem, not Haverty.
Learned from daughter's friend parents, they experienced the same issue with deliveries. So people remember that Havertys delivery is not as good as Rooms To Go and Havertys does not deliver on Mondays. If your delivery does not happen, Havertys does not bump other deliveries, they will just inconvenience the customers who deliver was missed.
Havertys has failed a first time buyer and probably has lost this new customer to a competitor.
We are not asking for any discounts on the purchase, or future credit. Just asking Havertys to get her furniture delivered in a...
Read moreThis experience was a great store experience like never before. Since COVID; unless you're at Chic Fa le, it is very rare these days to get someone who truly enjoys there job and still has good customer interaction skills. I have a history with Haverty's furniture and was looking to upgrade my existing queen bed to a king size. I am now on disability versus a good paying previous job. I went in knowing I couldn't purchase right away but wanted too see what I was looking at "cost wise." Well, Mr Rapoport not only listened to my needs; he payed attention when I mentioned my rooms were small. He let me pick out what I liked and printed a report of the bed frames that included the dimensions and suggested I go home and measure before moving forward. So glad he did because I would have been super disappointed to buy a King furniture; only to find out, my bedroom was entirely TOO small!
Eventually I will need a new mattress and I even thought about moving my existing nice Haverty's Queen bed to the guest room and still getting new bedroom furniture but in a queen size. I could probably fit the King bed inside the room, but it won't fit a dresser or nightstand and getting into the closet without removing the door isn't ideal.
I am so thankful for his gracious time and communication for my specific needs! I honestly wish it worked out because I would want someone like that to get a commission bonus off my purchase. I am actually not so much disappointed that I can't upgrade my bed; more so, sad I can't make a purchase off a sales manager who did an A+ job that day!
By the way, my existing Queen bedroom furniture is still going strong and looks as beautiful as the day I purchased it 30+ years ago! If I got to have kids; it would have been something nice to pass down....
Read moreMy last 2 visar the store has been awful. Poor customer service, over promise under deliver. Iv spent over $20k in this store the last 5 years. I go back in Nov to buy a King size bed, cost me $6k for this bed and the mattress co was offering two pillows up to $300, with purchase. All they had were standard size pillows, didn't want those because they were two small for the bed. The sales person (Albert) share that he will look into king size pillows si I was calling him every couple weeks asking about these pillows. So finally he said come look at the one we have and see if you like them. So i go into the store and he said he has to order ki gs size pillows, so I ask if they come in and i dont like them do inhave to buy them, he says yes. Nuy this time I'm fed up with the whole process, so I again ask him to just give me a third standard pillow (pillow are $99.00) He says he can't, I said where the manager he calls Barry over he says I cant. Now I'm in the sales industry and customer service is first and foremost especially for a repeat customer. And I know how o e of these gentlemen behaved when they purchase an item from where I work. He was relentless. And they didn't want to throw in a $100 pillow and the manager said no also. $20K Dollars in furniture and you can't throw in a $100 pillow. Couldn't not believe it. Will not spend another dime...
