Not a great experience at this hotel. Stayed here for three nights and the location is excellent but the staff is seriously lacking. The one rearaurant on-site has strange hours and okay food. The room service is non-existant and has a terrible selection of everything including cocktails and wine. The rooftop bar was cool and had a good selection of everything. This was great on thursday night when I could run up for a few drinks for me and my wife but on friday the bartender refused to give me more than one drink.
The rooms are very small and everything feels cramped. We were traveling with two small children and they tried initially to give us a two separate rooms that were joined by a common area also with another entrance to a room that was not ours. They made that right and upgraded us to a two bedroom suite that was very nice but it was only available for one night so we had to move again to a standard room but at least it had a door connecting the two rooms from the inside. Honestly they tried their best to make it right but the hotel is lacking in many areas. The large two bedroom suite wasn't stocked with anything. No drinks or snacks of any kind. The small two joining rooms had snacks and a small fridge that was almost as cold as it was outside in June. The door lock was totally jacked in our kids room and wouldn't lock. Our inital room that was two separate rooms with a single locking corridor locked us out for 20 mins the first time we left. We had to be at a wedding that evening and couldnt get to all of our stuff which made us late. The day we had to move from our two bedroom suite we had another wedding function and had to pack up and leave our stuff for them to move. When we returned the girl at the front desk was totally clueless and had no idea what we were talking about. Luckily we saw the manager we had been working with which she said was unavailble and he got us to our room. It was just time after time of staff having no idea of what they were doing. The last room we were in was on the second level and you could hear people walking in the floors above you. Apparently this hotel and the sea bird right next door are both hyatt properties. I haven't stayed at sea bird but can't imagine its any better than this with the same staff running between them.
Overall it was just a dissapointing experience mainly due to the staff. The only staff the actually remebered us and did a good job were...

Read moreWhile the hotel rooms and view are very nice, the hotel is just not worth the price. The pool is very small with only 9 pairs of loungers, so they get taken quickly in the morning. And since the pool area is so small we were constantly splashed by kids in the pool because there’s just no space for them to play.
There’s not many restaurants nearby and frankly the town is a bit run down so you end up feeling compelled to stay at the hotel which doesn’t have the facilities to support all guests. Dining options on site are limited and the beach is not the best.
Lastly there is a stage right in front of the hotel on the beach and both mornings we were there a local band started at 9am with super loud music. We like music like everyone else but there’s a time and place for loud rock music and 9am is not it. The windows and doors in the hotel are no match for the speakers in the bandshell.
Overall the hotel was frankly built in a city that isn’t ready for it and the service and grounds is what you’d expect for $300/night not $700. I would not recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing...
