This is a special place in so many ways and I can’t wait to go back.
We had the pleasure of staying here during peak winter for about 4 days. Obviously the location is superb and probably the main reason you might stay here during winter. But the location isn’t the only positive. It’s homey, communal (in a good & helpful way), and the perfect jumping off point to hit the mountain. My favorite part was probably the unexpected breakfast offered in the morning. I didn’t even realize it was available until we were here and was the most welcome surprise. If you’re here in the winter, you’re here to ski, so grabbing a quick meal so you can get on your way was an incredible perk. It’s not the Ritz so no, there aren’t fresh crepes… but it’s also not the Ritz so it’s highly affordable. When writing this, I read some of the other negative reviews.. and if you come here and don’t have a great experience, there’s something wrong with you.
I love this place and I feel like I’m staying in my grandpas lodge. The owners and specifically Jason are sooo amazingly helpful. We had some questions, needed to borrow an item or 2 while we were here, and they were incredibly helpful and pleasant. One of the negative reviews we read was about a checkout time.. (eye roll)… it’s a family run small business.. check out is when check out is!! It’s Park City in the winter… what red carpet do you want rolled out for you at these prices? My experience - we needed to check out late too and Jason told us no problem, just pack up your stuff and we’ll store it for you before your flight so you can sneak in another day of skiing. I mean.. how much more accommodating could they be.
The lobby has a really great fireplace to sit around after a long cold day. The beds are comfy. The overall vibe of this place is what gives it a...
Read moreA massive shout out to Jason and Ed, the father and son running the Chateau. Both of you were incredibly kind, patient and hard working. Your presence really heightens the experience at the Chateau, thank you.
We stayed at the Chateau for 3 nights while visiting Park City and skiing on the mountain. The Chateau is incredibly clean and has loads of character. There is a wonderful little cafeteria with tables and a communal fridge and microwave for the guests to use at their convenience.
This is a perfect example of you getting what you paid for. Ed spent some time with us as we made our lunches in the cafeteria one afternoon and expressed how it was a focus of theirs to try and keep the ski experience affordable while visiting the beautiful little city of Park City.
The location is absolutely knockout! A ten minute walk to the Park City Mountain Gondola, and an equal ten minute walk to the heart of the downtown area. If you have littles, there is a really fun sledding area right across the street from the Chateau as well.
I really can’t say enough positive things about our stay here. 10/10 will revisit and hope to see Ed and Jason here...
Read moreLocation is ideal, about a ten minute walk to town and just out the back door and up the stairs the base of PC is right down the street. Everything is within walking distance. The rooms are fine, like others have mentioned no thermostat, the shower temperature seemed to randomly fluctuate, no deadbolt lock and you can hear other people around you. I will say I did find the room to be very clean. The continental breakfast is minimal, but is enough to get you started in the morning. If you are there to ski/snowboard and only in the room to sleep and shower then this place is perfect. My only real complaint was the owner, I believe his name was Jason. Never a good morning, never even a word. Even when checking out, he said just leave the keys on the counter, not how was your stay, thank you for staying, etc..It was like he could not be bothered, which I found strange because he was nice to deal with over email. If you own a business it might help to be courteous to...
