The waiters seemed to do a fine enough job. However, they do charge you for chips and salsa after the first basket, which is logical but annoying. And the cheese dip was sad and I'm saying that as someone who LOVES cheese dip. Store bought is better. They also don't split checks, which I get trying to lower transaction costs or get bigger tips for larger amounts or whatever other reason there may be for this, but I would be willing to pay a little more for it when I am with a big group to avoid the awkwardness and complication to work it out later. The food was not great. My enchiladas tasted like flavorless taco soup rolled in a tortilla. My waiter offered to take my meal off the order because she could tell I didn't like it, but at that point my baby was getting fussy and I just wanted to leave instead of waiting for the order to be updated. I wish I had looked at reviews for this place before I agreed to go. Overall disappointing experience. *A response from management won't change anything about this review. It's too little, too late.*

The food is a 3.5, but the service really bumps this place up to a 4! We were seated quickly and our waitress was super friendly. Like, my wife and I thought she could be our friend kind of authentic nice and friendly. Sofia is great! As for the food, the portion sizes were great and the price seemed right for the amount of food we got. It was ok. I got a Burrito that was absolutely COVERED in queso. It was just good, but left me very full. We also got a drink called the Lava Flow. It was basically a strawberry piña colada. The vibe of the restaurant was excellent and they got our food out to us crazy fast.

While our waitress was very nice, the food is terrible. I asked about the tacos, and the waitress even warned me to get brisket instead of chicken because the chicken is dry. The brisket as it turns out is also dry. The enchiladas did not have sauce in them or on top. When I asked for cilantro I was brought some vinegary sauce with some cilantro floating on top. I think Taco Bell or Del Taco would have had more flavor than any of the food here. I have included a photo with the “cilantro” sauce. Wish I could have a refund because it is so overpriced.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Called ahead to reserve our table, and showed up to find that it had been given away before our scheduled time to arrive. After that, it was obvious that the leadership in this restaurant was close to non-existent.

Our waiter was friendly, but obviously not trained well AT ALL. We had a rather large table, so we asked for separate checks. The waiter seemed unsure about this, but said that would be fine as long as he could take our food and drink orders all together. Of course, we obliged. We didn't think anything of it, until 45 minutes had passed and we still had NO DRINKS and no sign of our waiter for an explanation.

Finally he showed up with one of the appetizers. We reminded him of our drinks (just sodas btw) and he said that the bartender was out dealing with an emergency and he could not bring our drinks to us at this time (again not cocktails or anything JUST FOUNTAIN DRINKS)

So we wait, finally our food comes, and almost all of it is either cold or BARELY warm. Again, we remind the waiter that there are no drinks still after 1.5 hours. The tacos were so cold that we ending up sending them back, as they didn't taste good after sitting for so long. He comes back with the same tacos that I guess he had just tossed in the microwave. The lettuce was wilted and it definitely didn't make the meal taste any better. The rest of the food we decided would be better off just eaten cold.

Finally drinks arrive, we are ready to go at this point. The "manager" Timmy, has been nothing but rude and full of excuses the entire time. We ask for our checks and it takes another 30 minutes for him to bring them. He pushed the blame on the waiter, other customers, and even on us, never accepting any responsibility. We requested a discount for our poor service and cold food. Timmy said he could only give us the 10% locals discount (we are locals btw) but could not remove the mandatory 17% tip. He even repremended us for asking for separate checks even though the waiter hadn't mentioned that it would be an issue. He told us that he had done everything in his power and could no longer help us.

Again, we just wanted a kind explanation as to why things were so poorly organized and we're given nothing but dismissal and attitude. He obviously had no customer service skills. Timmy is not ready to lead a team in a customer service environment, or even be employed in this field in the first place.

During all this chaos we saw several servers in corner talking, the hostess was on her phone, and there just seemed to be no direction or leadership to this team at all.

The one silver lining? Paige. She was an angel. I'm pretty sure she was the bartender, but I know that she was running around trying to make everyone happy and was so nice and apologetic, but obviously overwhelmed with things to do. Maybe she should be in charge? She knows how to handle a situation with grace.

After a decade of coming here this was enough to make it so we will...

We had a party of eight meeting at the restaurant on a Saturday around 4 pm. We called ahead to see if we needed a reservation, and were told it was first come, first served. Ok, no problem. We arrive and get seated immediately, but two from our party were still on the way. We don’t live in Park City, so we are all driving from the valley. Our waitress arrives and we all knew we were in trouble from our last experience with her not splitting checks. I asked very nicely if we could have three separate checks and she acted like I kicked her dog. After, she brought our drinks then asked where the rest of our party was. They were 10 minutes away. She then tells us we have to order and eat fast because a large party was coming and we would need to be out of there. Again, we called ahead and were not told anything. Even as we were seated, nothing was said. We contemplated leaving, but we were celebrating a birthday and didn’t want to raise tensions. We told her it would be ten minutes and she just walked away. She returned in 2 minutes and told us to order. Again, we didn’t want to ruin a get together, so we tried to order as quick as we could. Once the other two in the party arrived, they could not order because our waitress took the menus. So our two late arrivers had to wait 15 minutes before they could order themselves. It was very uncomfortable and poor communication from the restaurant. We have had many problems with the waitress there, and we even talked on the drive up about hoping we would not get her. We did. We will not be returning to a place that treated us with less importance than a party coming in. Why make a drive up from the valley? I’ve been treated better at Wendy’s. The food though was fantastic! The Claimjumper is the best burrito in Utah. Shame they don’t value customers.

Update 9/4/2023 I’m glad the owner responded, and I really hope they get their stuff together at the restaurant. But I think the response is a bit sour. I’m not sure who in my party wrote a review, but I’m glad the message was received and thank you for giving them money to come back. My problem is with your response, sir. Does it matter to you that we were all upset? I can’t control what my party members did, and I don’t want a gift card to return. Throwing money at people instead of cleaning up your establishment is lazy in my opinion. You dare wonder why I gave one star? I’d give minus 30 if I could and it’s a damn shame. I’ve never had a problem with the food, it’s the service and the uncaring way your establishment treats people. Look at the last few reviews and learn something from what we are trying to tell you. I really hope things turn around there, as we love the food, but that waitress is awful. There was no need to be treated that way and it’s not my ‘one star review’,...

We went here for a late lunch on 6-21-15 with 8 people in our party. 1st, By far the worst service I've had in a long long time. We had to wait 25 minutes for a waiter. There were lots of employees milling about, but not to many patrons, only 3 or 4 tables with people eating. When he did show up it was only because we flagged him down. He was short with us as if he was in a hurry and we were stopping him from getting to his waiter of the year award ceremony. We saw him 3 times, once to take our order, once to deliver our food, and again to bring us the bill after my 10 year old son went to find him to say we'd like to pay our bill now. Never to refill our drinks or to see if we were ok, or needed / wanted anything. Then when he did bring the bill, he had the nerve to ad what he felt he deserved for a tip 17% (written with pen on our bill $113 + 17% tip $19.21 = $153). There are 3 kinds of people in the world, those who can count and those who can't. He added $40 to our bill for his 17% tip. What a douche bag. 2nd The food was not that great. Over priced and under sized. The 4 kids in our party split 2 meals. We all had water to drink. So 6 meals came to $113 + tip. Not terrible, but not that great either. Most of our meals didn't come with anything. Where we live in southern CA, most, if not all Mexican dishes are served with beans and rice at least. Shortly after leaving we were looking for something else to eat. In closing, we came up from So Cal to visit family in Orem. They wanted to take us to Park City to eat, shop and just look around. Park City is a cool place and most of the hour drive to get there was beautiful. I'm sure there must be great places to eat there, but Baja Cantina isn't one of them! I wouldn't walk next door to eat there, much less drive an hour...
