Communication was amazing! Got many helpful emails with videos showing where to go. Checking in and out was very easy. They don't have a lobby. Everything is done with your phone. You don't have a room key. Instead you have codes to get into the buildings and other spaces. Location of this hotel is absolutely perfect! Free busses are constantly out front and will take you anywhere. Many shops and activities surround you. The complex has two different buildings each with different amenities and parking. Building A has two hot tubs both indoor. One is on the second floor with a sauna while another is on the third floor. During my visit, they are currently renovating the third floor so that hot tub isn't operational. The sauna on the second floor isn't operational either but the hot tub is. It was very hot which I enjoyed. Be aware that the second floor hot tub is a step up while the third floor is a step down. The Building A elevator from the parking garage and its surroundings can definitely use some work. The elevator outside and inside was very dirty and the ceiling outside of it had a massive hole. The entire parking garage was dirty and in need of a clean. Building B is where the fitness center is and the main pool are located. Both buildings do not connect so to go between them, you have to go outside and walk across a courtyard. It isn't bad but not the most ideal especially in bad weather. It was a rainy and cold weekend so we skipped the pool because of having to walk outside. You have to walk through the fitness center to get to the pool. The main pool is indoor and outdoor with two hot tubs. One is outdoor while the other is indoor. The pool is very nice but around it and the indoor hot tub where lots of bugs. They'd get into the hot tub and pool creating piles of floating bugs, which we'd have to fish out. That wasn't fun. A sauna is located in the main pool area but we didn't use it. Our room was fantastic! It felt very clean and tidy. A bit of dust on the TV and behind some things could be improved. They had a couple of battery operated candles which is a nice touch. However only one was operational as the other had dead batteries. One of the balcony's in our room also had a dead bulb so it was very dark. These are only small things and overall we loved our room. I felt very relaxed and clean. Looked recently renovated. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything you'd need. Plates, bowls, cups, utensils, spatulas, a can opener, pots, pans, even a crock pot! A few plates had some knicks in them but were very clean. Some towels for the pool would've been nice though as we had only one towel per person. They have many extra pillows and blankets too. Overall I'd definitely stay here again! Other than a few minor things, our stay...
Read moreWe had booked a beautiful three bedroom at the Silver King Lodge and upon one of my upcoming confirmation emails it stated the pool was closed for renovations. I called and they said yes the pool is closed but they have a sister resort nearby that’s not “as nice” but would be the same price and the pool and hot tub were open. We were reluctant as the room we had booked was amazing but since we did have kids with us we knew a pool was going to be more fun for them and agreed to the trade. We got there and there is no front desk and it was like a ghost town. I called and they said they emailed me codes for the room and the access doors. They also stated there was only one parking pass which if you rent a three bedroom likely there are three couples coming. They said we could get two more passes for the rest of my party but they had to park outside the silver king which is just down the road but still inconvenient when you have things to bring with you so we worked on packing everyone’s things into the car and up the road and made do. The parking garage was empty the whole weekend so it made no sense they couldn’t park there. On our first night everyone got swimsuits on and headed down to the pool at 7:45 to find the pool closed. There was another family leaving who also wanted to swim. It stated the pool was open until 10:00. We called and were told that there was no one they could get a hold of and not sure why maintenance would close early. Not having ever seen one person the whole time that would be an employee makes you wonder if maintenance wanted an early night off but it was a Friday night and people pay good money to get together with friends and family. The person on the phone apologized and said a manager could call the next day when we expressed how upset we were for trading an awesome three bedroom for a quite frankly mediocre one. She also said maybe we could move to our original booked room at the Silver King and be granted access to the pool at the lodge the next day. I received a message from the manager the next day and he said we could move but no pool access would be granted. At this point it was not worth an argument so we just stayed and let our kids swim in the pool that day which was open. We have stayed at the Silver King more times than I can count over the last 15 years and I was very unhappy with result of the “trade” for the same price which I think we should have paid far less for this room than we did for the other. Yes, it’s “off season” but the paying customers should be a lot more appreciated...
Read moreThe unit was as described, convenient, and comfortable. However, that was completely overshadowed by the issues my family had while trying to enter the building after a long travel day. We received the initial email explaining the check in process well before our trip. The video and instructions were clear. The day of our arrival, I was in business meetings and my husband was on a flight with 2 of our boys. The follow up email was sent, as promised, around noon. They arrived at the unit around midnight. There was a blank beside “door code” on the check in email. My husband assumed that the code to enter the building was 305# as it was listed as the common code with nothing beside it. They were locked out with a wind chill of 0 in a place they have never been. He called the 24 hour number provided and spent about 10 minutes trying to explain that the code was missing and they couldn’t even get into the building. They were tired, cold, and getting nowhere. I called and spent another 15 minutes arguing with the gentleman on the phone that he needed to call someone else or do something different as it was the middle of the night! It might not sound like a big issue, but I assure you if you spent a day traveling from the East Coast to a resort you’ve never been to, arrived in the middle of the night, and were unable to get into a unit you had already paid for, without a single human, around, in 0° weather (that you weren’t dressed for), you would be frustrated too! Day number two, my 14 year-old called me and was unable to enter the unit. Evidently, the door code we were given, was only temporary. I was only skiing one day and had to come from the top of the mountain down to the unit to take care of the issue again. I called the number and was promptly transferred to someone else to help me. That extension went to a voicemail. I hung up, called back and was not very pleasant to the nice woman who answered the phone the second time. I told her it was unacceptable and I refused to be on the phone locked out of the unit for another 30 minutes! she was able to help me within just a few minutes. If that had happened the first time we had an issue it would not have been a big deal. Two days of my vacation were impacted, and I still get frustrated thinking about it. I understand that oversight happens but the way issues are handled makes all of...
