My wife and I checked into our room today, when we placed our luggage in the room we noticed the floors where sticky, as if a soda was sprayed/leaked over 60% of the floor and the cleaner did not mop the floor. We requested to switch rooms, and this was accommodated.
After having to wake up at 2am, to catch two flights from another state for our time in Tennessee and having driven for over 4 hours, and arriving later in the evening, we were quite hungry and ready for dinner. We decided to leave our luggage in our new room, and go out for dinner, not having inspected the new room, believing it would be in better condition.
When we arrived back from our dinner, the state of the new room was far from being described as being a habitable space, fit for humans. I will list the issues in dot points below,
The door was covered in filth, grime, stains and flaking paint
The door did not securely close, nor lock effectively for protection
The floor was covered in stains, and sticky waste
The wall mounted lamp would flicker faster than Usain Bolt running a 100 yard dash, and possibly cause a seizure
The TV remote did not have a backing cover, exposing the batteries which could lead to a fire
The room was infested with insects
The bed base was dirty
The car parking ticket that had to be displayed in the car window, to be visible for parking validation had our room number displayed. Which would leave us vulnerable to any person walking through the open car park to know exactly what room we would be in, and wait for us to leave and steal our belongings, or an even worse scenario, that I wouldn’t even want to begin to think about.
The pipe under the bathroom basin leaked water out onto the floor, providing not only a slipping hazard on the tiles, but also posses significant health risks (Black mould for example)
The toilet paper holder was broken off, leaving the only option being to leave the toilet paper on the dirty floor
The bath was disgusting, and appeared to not be cleaned from previous use
The toilet where you sit, had dry human fecal matter on it (Which I unfortunately had to clean off, as my wife needed to use it desperately and had no other option)
Other guests, and also persons that were not staying in the building congregated in the open carpark as well as all three balconies of the building, did not appear to be of sound mind and unfavourable character (Drug/Alcohol affected, homeless/pan handling, domestic disturbances etc)
We understand that this is a budget friendly motel, however the above issues are not acceptable in any circumstances. These issues led my wife and myself, feeling unsafe, uncomfortable and dirty.
I have been trying to get a refund from this, but all contact numbers have been disconnected and they won’t return emails or messages through...
Read moreSpent the first couple of days of our vacation here. Wish I would have read the reviews before I booked this hotel. We got in later than expected and didn't really see the exterior condition of the hotel, but when I went to check in, the gentleman in front of me was trying to get towels for his room and got 2 (I think he requested 4 for his family). Checked in and went to our room. First off, there were several people in the public walkways smoking marijuana in the open. Opened our room, even though there was no light near the door making it difficult to see the lock to open the door. Went into the room and started trying to turn on lights....only 1 lamp and the bathroom lights turned on. How do you unpack in the dark? Also found that the bed did not have a blanket on it and there were also no towels in our room. I trekked back to the front desk, explained that I needed towels, a blanket, and at least one lamp. Luckily the overnight front desk clerk had arrived early. He walked with me to the housekeeping area and was able to get me a couple of towels and said he would get more plus the blanket and a lamp. Sure enough he did get the missing amenities, although I think that is something basic that the rooms should have been furnished with. The next morning, we could finally see the condition of the exterior. We weren't expecting the Ritz Carlton or anything like that, but this place looked as though it was in a perpetual state of remodel. all over the place were broken pieces of room furniture, mattresses stacked next to the dumpster that blocked at least 4 parking spaces. Water puddled on the walkways from the ACs in the room or making tiny streams down the ramps between floors. There was one elevator located about halfway down the walkway, that worked questionably, but then left you walking past what appeared to be the homeless encampment of pot smokers and quite frankly some sketchy looking people. All in all, I was quite disappointed in the condition of the room when we arrived, but pleased that someone was able to provide us with the missing amenities. WIth several other, much better looking, hotels near this property, the location is wonderful. At checkout, I overheard other guests asking the front desk to call the owner/general manager again to address mold they found in their room. The front desk clerk argued that he had already put himself on the line for calling once about their concern, seeming that he was more fearful of telling management of poor maintenance than he was interested in providing customer service. I then had to stand there for several minutes after they left for the front desk clerk to come back to get me a printout of my receipt. All in all, I would avoid this property if at...
Read moreChecked in and stayed for about a week. 6 people- 4 adults, 2 kids. We had a 3-queen room. First thing we notice is the lack of pillows- 3 pillows for 3 beds when they knew we had 6 people. Furthermore, the room smelt atrocious of dog and water damage. There were large metal staples scattered about the room as well, trash in the bathroom trash can upon arriving, and overall the place was not clean. There were stains on one of the beds sheets as well and we saw a few bugs the first night.
Other things we took note of was the broken safe- which we had little intention of using but nevertheless. Either an outlet didn't work on the wall or the devices meant to plug into it didn't work- or couldn't plug in (the placement of the dresser wouldnt allow the microwave to plug in and we had to manually move it every time to use it). Our television wouldn't turn on and we had no remote to figure it out either way. The bathroom was equally nasty to the rest of the room, the shower filthy, trash already used, the sink clogged with tissue. They also only provided one roll of toilet paper already half way used, and 3 towels and a small rag- again, for a 6 person stay.
Given the price and location of the hotel, we expected better. Room service never once came by, in fact, it seemed they avoided half of the second floor entirely. Even when we asked if they could bring us more pillows or at the very least, towels, because we were 6 people with only 3 towels.
The service overall was not great. First night I personally went to the front desk to ask for pillows, to be told they couldn't help us. Okay. Went down the second night when I saw they were doing laundry- perhaps a bit pushy but again, we need pillows. Told the laundry would have them and I go over there, also to grab a few more towels. Laundry guy was inattentive and dismissive- no pillows, only towels.
Third day we talk to a new lady who directly talks to the room service woman, and yet we come back and theres still no pillows although she said she'd get us some. We end up buying pillows at Walmart. Overall, the front desk was not very awful- the few times we interacted being cranky, not very helpful, nor good with directions.
Truthfully one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. After a 14 hour drive, the last thing you want to do is stay in a place like this. Service was awful, the room was awful, and the smell was just out of this world bad. Not to mention the general plaza was disgusting, trash and litter scattered about, old, broken furniture piled up outside of rooms, as were mattresses and tabled and what not in front of the hotel, in the parking lot, and behind.
Tried the Cook Out though....
