Oh and what do you expect? Its $180 a week but after 30 days you don't have to pay reno room tax so it goes down like $20. If you pay a month is like $620. Small fridge that works. Yes cockroaches..but if you keep your food and dishware in plastic tubs from Walmart (3 big ones about $20) they don't come around much. At first my roommate was lazy and didn't clean up well and it got worse So I made him clean better and kept everything put up and they went away. Also keep your garbage picked up and take it out..then the roaches are few apart. But many places in reno have roaches. The only way to get em is to fumigate for a week and that ain't happening because it would just cost too much. This isn't a place to stay the night its a weekly residential. And honestly they have rooms at the sands for like $20. But the roaches didn't just pop up. People bring them in and are slobs so this will always be the case. I've seen rooms get broken into but not my room because we work opposite shifts so some ones always here. Keep valuables in your car. They do have air con but you need to ask. They are movable units. As for bed bugs there aren't any in my room but our mattresses are in plastic. $200 is more than enough to get you in. We just moved from the bay area and its a good place to get on your feet but obviously you don't want to spend your whole life here. I don't know about the phones we have mobiles like the rest of the world. There are drugs everywhere and I mean the world not just here. Its not Amy worse than anywhere else I've lived. If your living here it's due to circumstance so suck it up. The staff is cool except one guy kinda has an attitude but its okay. They are putting a lot of work into the place and there are like 7 maintenance people during the day. The waters hot, the fridge is cool the microwave works and the water pressure is good. I'm on the 5th floor and its pretty quiet. The cable is only 17 channels but its free. The power went out and they had it fixed in 20minutes. For $170 a week its alright. oh and they have a little store down stairs and its pretty cheap for most things. Cheaper than across the street. 20oz sodas are like 99¢...
Read moreThis motel is what you make it. The bugs are there. Only if you allow them to be. Keep your room clean and take the right preventative measures and it's not an issue. The elevator and the hallways sometimes smell, my room doesn't. The walls are thin and you can hear everything, it definitely brings a sense of humbleness and mindfulness. With that being said I don't mind living here paying the outrageous price of $1200.00 if those were the only problems that one had to deal with . The biggest problem I have with this place and the reason why I would tell everyone and anyone not to stay here is the little black man that works the front desk, primarily graveyards. If at any time you unfortunately cross his path much less the fact need his help. Beware and be ready to not only be cussed but also made to feel as small as humanly possible. He takes it upon himself to belittle and harrass you for no reason other than he can. Or thinks he can because he's been doing his job for two years. He is about as disrespectful as any person I have ever met and has no business whatsoever being in the customer service industry. Why this owner still allows him to have a job is beyond me. He is a liability but most importantly he is just a bully that makes you uneasy to be around. That is why I would recommend finding some here else to stay. Not because of bugs or smells or cleanliness. Entirely because of the tiny man who works behind the front desk who takes it upon himself to demoralize the guests who really pay his paycheck. I truly hope the owner sees this and does something about it. Before something bad happens. One of the guests already ended up pulling a gun on him because he had had enough of this guys harassing banter. Unfortunately the old drunk barely scraping by went to jail while the bully...
Read moreHad no choice but to stay here for a week a couple months ago while I waited for my apartment to open up, couldn't find a room to save my life. There's absolutely no reason to stay here unless you have absolutely no where else to go. Never had any issues with bed bugs but the amount of roaches was comical. Wi-Fi didn't work and they charge for it, AC didn't work, people running around all night making noise, fights, drugs, drug dealers, halls really do smell bad and the building is in a questionable state.
Honestly I could have dealt with all of that mentioned for a week, roaches? One or two here and there I could deal. Twenty to thirty just hanging out all over? I don't think so. I complained and was told they would spray, they never came to spray. The excuse the front desk gave me was they lost their pest control guy and no one had done his job for six months.
Unless you want to have late night conversations with roaches, this place should be avoided...
