Rum Bullions Island Bar — Restaurant in Reno

Have been here many times & always enjoyed it. Not this time. The place was empty. Ordered 1 drink & 1 beer from male bartender for $10. 15 minutes later ordered 1 drink (same type of drink) from female bartender and it was $13. There is no menu so you have no recourse as to the pricing or what is even in the drink or what is available. The 2 drinks were completely different. They had only just opened & our table was filthy. When I asked for a rag I assumed she would come clean it but no...I was given a towel to do it myself. When I returned the rag she replied "thanks doll". Not very appropriate. We visited the Rum Island Bar in Silver Legacy Casino this evening (Thursday 9th). The ambience of the bar is nice as are the drinks. Certainly not shy on the amount of alcohol!

It's just a shame they choose to employ such a rude bar tender. It took almost 15 minutes for her to even acknowledge we were at the bar, let alone serve us. She was somewhat dismissive in her approach when she finally did serve us which led us to think we should not tip her. She then said in a sarcastic manor, "Oh thanks a lot guys." I don't think I should be expected to tip a bar tender regardless of their behaviour?! This is certainly not the type of service I expect from an establishment such as this. Bad drinks, overpriced, rude security, mediocre staff, country music at a tiki bar? They don't even have a specials menu.

Worth grabbing a drink if your desperate and can't leave the hotel and really want something tiki, otherwise not really worth the visit. The decor is okay, but not overly tiki. I've been here a handful of times and they are always rude, forgetful, or bad at making drinks.

Tip to the owners, tell your security to chill it and not make customers feel uncomfortable. Tell your bartenders to welcome people and not ignore them at the bar. And get an actual drink menu and some tiki options. I have diamond status and am now much less likely to come back, heading to...
