Our stay at this Marriott location was initially relatively uneventful. Small things, such as no plugs next to one side of the bed, are inconvenient but managable. Our biggest issue was with the front desk. We arrived late and were greeted by a 'sorry, I'm not here' sign so we retrieved the luggage from the car hoping someone would materialize at the desk when we returned (which after a few more moments, they did). The following day we did not check out by 11 am, as a gold elite member we needed to take advantage of the 2 pm checkout this status affords its guests. After it was evident that we were not out of the room by 11, we received a call from the hotel informing us that we did not check out by 11. After relaying that we were under the impression we were able to check out by 2 pm I was rather rudely informed that a delayed check out must be requested. Now, combined with the unusual absence of the desk clerk upon our arrival, as well as always being asked about our check out intentions by other locations when we checked in, it escaped us that this was only available upon request. Obviously this was not an unsurmountable problem, however one would think that an employee dealing with someone who presumably patronizes their hotel frequently enough to achieve a reward status would curb their annoyance at not being informed of our intent to check out by 2. Apologies to you, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Rockport; we will try to do better by you in the future.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could . VIKAS is one of the rudest managers I’ve spoken too . I was first given a room in which something so simple as the tv not working, made us switch the entire room . Went to the second room , my babies , 2 and 3 year old were sleeping and ROACHES were crawling on the wall. Didn’t even finish my food bc I was disgusted. Complained again and AGAIN they were going to move us rooms but this time to the THIRD floor . When I asked for a refund VIKAS rudely told me no bc I was offered another room and I wouldn’t be getting a refund . Even called their corporate they made a claim and never got back to me , so here is a google review for you . Do not go to this hotel , it’s not even as nice as the pictures the managers are rude . Not to mention I called several times and Vikas didn’t want to even give me his name he said “they’ll know when you call “ how unprofessional is everyone working for Marriott. Will never go back and I hope Marriott regrets hiring someone like Vikas to represent their company. Also want to mention that all vikas had to do was approve a refund and he couldn’t even do that , he rudely put in the email “refund declined there will be no refund for this guest”

8/23/2025: I hate to give anything less than 4 stars, but this hotel had an issue that was hard to get over. Jordan at the front desk was super nice and helpful, the bed was comfortable, the rate per night of $170.00 was okay, the ground were clean, the pool looked clean, BUT... the rooms all have a blue tint that was so obnoxious and really messed with my eyes. It was truly awful! Even when the sun went down, it was still bothersome. The photos I took with my phone have absolutely no filter on them. It was Smurf blue!!! I wanted to ask for another room until I realized ALL windows had the same tint. I looked around the room after exposure to the blue and it made everything look pink. Way weird! I know it wasn't just us because we spoke with a lady in the elevator who made the same comments. I would never stay there again strictly for the blue and how it affected my eyes. I don't know who decided on that, but it was a terrible idea. We did not check out the inhouse bar since we brought drinks with us. We also did not have the breakfast. I am not a fan of hotel breakfast since it rarely lives up to expectations.

I would like to recognize the entire staff for amazing service all delivered during our stay. There were a few instances that come to mind, which I want to note:

The gentlemen checking us in was very friendly, he made sure to point out exactly where the breakfast is served (most people just state it's on a particular floor), he then explained the difference between the two bartenders that would be working during our stay (he noted one will come out to service the pool area and the other we would have to visit for drink if we were in the pool area).

Another gentlemen working the front desk during the afternoon and night made sure to wish us a swell time at the beach, and then as friendly as could be asked us about our day when we returned. This same gentlemen was about to turn off the gas to the grill, when I asked him to leave it on. He began to explain the $25 dollar fee to utilize it. I responded explaining that information was not provided to me when I inquired about it during the reservation. Without missing a beat he said, "I am sorry you were not informed and I don't think you three (my wife,5 year old daughter, and myself) are going to be using the grill for a substantial amount of time, so don't worry about the fee tonight." I was very pleased with his willingness to address what he saw as a small failure on the staff's part. We shouldn't have been surprised as the experience would only continue to get better.

The cleaning staff was just great too. Our room was taken care of even after it was passed by (due to the do not disturb sign), to address the other rooms. When we passed the staff in the hallway all took the time to speak with my little girl, who is a very approachable and talkative little girl. All were genuine in their responses and doting on my child.

The various staff members manning the breakfast were on top if it. Not only were they continuously stocking the various breakfast items, but all worked hard to continuously clean the tables and take empty plates from us and the other guests when appropriate.

The pool and room facilities were very pleasant and exceeded my expectations. I am glad the lady who booked my reservation easily convinced me to reserve the king suite instead of the double king room.

We will be back again and again. Thank you for helping make our beach trip and vacation as pleasant as one...

What a disappointment this stay was. Check-in was nice, the attendant at the desk was friendly and we had a nice discussion, but he failed to mention the hotel policy of a room only being cleaned every five days. Since we were only staying for 3 nights, it would have been nice to understand the policy upon check-in. There is a hanging sign in the bathroom stating that if you want fresh towels, just leave the used ones on the floor.

The first morning my wife and I got out of the hotel late and assumed we just missed housekeeping. When we returned to the hotel that evening, I asked for fresh towels, which were provided without an issue. The next morning, in order to not miss housekeeping, we went out for breakfast. Upon returning, the room still had not been cleaned, so I went to find out when it would be. The front desk clerk then alerted me to the cleaning policy and provided me with more clean towels. If you stay here for less than 5 days, be prepared to have to ask for towels and to have your trash cans emptied, if needed. I suppose you can leave your used towels outside for housekeeping to pick up; otherwise they will just pile up in your room. At the price of rooms in this facility, I have higher expectations.

More issues with the room: Windows - the blue tint is very annoying and takes some getting used to. If you are unsure of what color shirt/blouse you are going to wear, take it to the bathroom as the windows do not affect them in there. Mildew smell - the entire room had a strong smell of mildew. The wall paper by the tub was also torn and it appears there is water damage in that area. Power for charging - there are only plugs on one side of the bed and on the desk. With two phones to charge, it’s not convenient at all. Mattress- very uncomfortable mattress pad and covers are very...

I felt really blue after staying in this hotel. This hotel was downright creepy. It is in a wonderful area in a resort community, and the photos on the website looked great. But what they don't tell you is that because the windows are tinted a heavy, azure blue, and as result all natural light that comes into this hotel is blue. Really, really blue. The food looks blue. The shower looks blue. And yes, the bed looks blue. It was one of the strangest stays that I have ever had. The woman who checked us in was great, but the service in the breakfast area was dismal at best. Breakfast was supposed to be from 6am - 9 am I think, but when I went down about 7:30 there was barely any food, and what there was seemed to have been there for awhile. The biscuits with the congealed gravy were harder than a hockey puck, and instead of scrambled eggs, they served these weird egg saucers that were folded in half. Needless to say, breakfast was inedible.

When I went to get coffee, all of the carafes were out except for a half cup of regular. I tried to use some of the "Beautifully Presented" half and half that was served in the paper carton it was purchased in. I could get past that, but when I poured it into the last of the available coffee, it came out in clumps - truly spoiled milk.

I went back down about 30 minutes later and noticed that the staff person hadn't left her perching spot since I left - still apparently on her phone behind a half wall were she could see that things weren't going well, but didn't seem to care. Most of the food was gone, and didn't look like it would be replaced. At least there was some coffee, and the spoiled mile had been removed - now there was only Coffeemate.

The best thing about the stay? The photos that I can share on social media from this stay - no one would believe this experience...
