Arrived March 27, 2021 for dinner. COVID precautions were in place and followed. My wife ordered the shredded chicken bowl with a side of Avocado. Plenty of chicken and other ingredients in the bowl. The tortilla bowl was old and tasted that way. The avocado was from an old avocado and had black spots on it. My wife ate picked at and ate around the bowl as best she could. Not very good! My turn! I Ordered the Carne Guisada plate. The Carne Guisada had no spices other than chili powder in the concoction. The refríed beans also had no flavor but had plenty of chili powder and the beans looked dark red. The rice color was good but again no spices, not even salt. They sell their tortillas! I got two which were tough and barely warm. If these were home made, I suspect a cook who doesn’t know the basic ingredients of tortillas. The waitress was good and she served the food in a timely manner. We tipped our usual 25% as both my wife and I have waited on tables as youngster - at Mexican and Full service restaurants. Perhaps their fish dishes are better. Read moreThis is one of the better restaurants in this area. This restaurant serves good Mexican food as well as great hamburgers. This restaurant lacks in service. I had to ask for extra napkins twice at the counter. I was ignored on my 1st attempt. The waitress was a order taker & not too good on her services to our table of 6 people. After she wrote down our orders & she took it to the cooks she brought our meal ticket to our table& we never saw her again until I went to the counter to ask for refills on our ice teas. I'm not sure what came over me. As I was paying for everyone in our party's table I did leave her a 15% tip. Our lunch total came to about $88. & some change. I hope that in the future we will receive better service along with our terrific food. We have found in the restaurants we have eaten at since the restaurants have reopened for inside dining the waiter/waitresses have been extremely lazy. My wife had some issues at the Aransas Pass, TX Pizza Hut a couple days ago with the waitress. She paid for the beverages& food prior to sitting at the table. She & her friends got paper plates & plastic cutlery & a to go glass of ice tea. The waitress never returned to their table after bringing them their pizza. That waitress did not receive any tip. I usually tip based on the service that we receive from the waitress/waiter. As I earlier statement our food...
