Good food, good atmosphere, but appeared to be a rough night for our waitress. Make a reservation and you'll likely have a better time.
First time visitor, will probably try again if we're in town.
Arrived shortly before 6 without a reservation and asked for a table. A party with a 6pm reservation showed up right after us and was immediately seated.
The main room appeared to be mostly full and we had a toddler, so the hostess was nice enough to put us in the spare room behind the executive lounge.
We were seated by 6:05. Our waitress got there around 6:15 to ask for our drink orders, so we went ahead and made our meal order at the same time. Our drinks arrived at 6:25 and we waited until 7:00 for our meal.
Fried flounder had a cracker coated breading and took up the entire plate it was served on. The breading wasn't too my taste, but the flounder was great. Asparagus was an upcharge but was boiled, so if you don't mind that flavor/texture, go for it. Baked potatoes were delicious.
The ribeye had a really good flavor and was cooked well. The coconut shrimp was very good as well.
We ordered what we thought was a dinner portion Chicken Caesar Salad, but it was smaller and more bland than the dinner side salad, which were served around 6:45.
The waitress came by at 6:45 and 7:45 for tea refills.
The manager stopped by and very kindly asked if everything was okay around 7:15, but we were just more focused on leaving and we didn't want to bother.
We asked our waitress for our check and a box at 7:30, but ended up having to ask the hostess for our check at 7:50 because we were tired of waiting.
We also asked for the manager at this point, but just didn't want to wait. We paid and left by 8:00.
All in all, we will likely try it again at some point, and we're looking forward to a better...
Read moreMy husband and I went here to celebrate our 12th anniversary tonight. I have so many good things to say! Let me start with the hostess ... she was the sweetest lady & seemed to genuinely enjoy her job. It's so nice when the first person to greet you is kind & full of joy. Our waitress, Andrea, was new, but she was fantastic! Very kind, attentive to the perfect extent! She didn't hover but she came by at just the right times to check in on us. Our food was great! They first brought us freshly made, warm bread that was delicious! The presentation of our dinners was perfect! My husband had the fried shrimp and found the batter to be very tasty! I ordered a ribeye steak, loaded baked potato & asparagus. There was a slight misunderstanding as to how the cook thought I wanted my steak vs the way our waitress told him I wanted it. Unfortunately, it was under cooked. I didn't want to send it back, but even the waitress could see it wasn't right. She offered to bring me a fresh potato & asparagus, but I declined. I was pleasantly surprised when the manager came to our table to tell us that she noticed the mistake. That was the most pleasant surprise of the night. How kind of her to come to us without us asking! That was refreshing to say the least. We were treated so well by everyone there. We are only visiting but we love this area. The next time we come back, we will absolutely return to this restaurant! I strongly recommend this place! The atmosphere & staff are amazing and we thank them for a very nice evening! Oh, and there are beautifully made replicas of ships, schooners & fishing boats on display. Be sure to...
Read moreWe ate dinner here over the weekend. We decided to try it because it had pretty good ratings and everything else was packed. When we arrived it did not appear busy at all but because we had a toddler we were directed to the back in another room where I assume they place all individuals with kids. Which is fine I get it. The place is definitely older and had a “grandmas house” vibe. We ordered the crab nachos for an appetizer which was $14. For the price we expected way more. It appeared to be nothing more then a fried tortilla with some crab, cheese, lettuce and tomato thrown on top. My husband ordered crab cakes for dinner and I ordered the fried fish/shrimp and chips. My husbands crab cakes were very wet and hard to eat and were a rather small portion even though the waitress said the portion was good size. It wasn’t. The platter I ordered was okay. I noticed the dinner rolls we received right away as frozen store bought kind that I actually buy myself. Good rolls but not what you would think your getting at a what appears by the menu a high scale dining menu. Overall I would not dine here again. Our bill was almost $100 dollars which was fine but the food we received was not worth the price. We decided on a whim to go here and the yelp reviews steered...
