Studio Z, an Ascend Collection Hotel — Hotel in Saint Robert

This hotel was such a good value. The front desk staff were over-the-top friendly and informative. The morning staff asked multiple times to let her know if we needed anything at breakfast. Our guest room was small but SO clean, with nice hard floors (no iffy carpet anywhere!). Nice wall-mounted flat screen tv, good pillows and blankets, temperature control was good. Room was a bit small, with a desk and a few counter-type areas to put your bags. Could have used a chair to sit in (seen in photos of some rooms). Tub/shower was an unusual “triangle-shape”, like in a corner, which means it was a bit tight unless you pointed the shower head so the water came out horizontally. LOVE that they had nice quality shampoo, conditioner, and gel dispensers on the shower wall. Breakfast had a good variety: bacon, omelets, pancake machine, hard-boiled eggs, yogurts, toast, bagels, pastries, 3 kinds of cereal, coffee, milk, orange and fruit juice. Pool wasn’t open yet, so no comments there. Staff also mentioned that we were welcome to use the fitness facilities at a hotel 2 doors down. ★☆☆☆☆ Heartless and Unaccommodating – Not Military Friendly

I booked a stay at Studio Z Hotel in advance for my daughter’s military graduation — an event our entire family was looking forward to. Unfortunately, just before graduation, my daughter suffered a serious injury during training and is currently hospitalized on base. She will not be graduating as planned, and our trip had to be canceled under extremely stressful and emotional circumstances.

I reached out to the hotel to explain the situation and request a refund or even a credit, providing full transparency about the emergency. Despite this being a genuine medical crisis involving an active duty service member, the hotel refused to offer any flexibility or compassion.

It’s incredibly disappointing that Studio Z doesn’t support or respect military families, even in situations clearly out of our control. Their lack of empathy and unwillingness to work with us is unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those traveling for military-related events. They’ve made a painful time...

We were not impressed with this motel at all. We have stayed at several Ascend motels and this one was way below the quality of the others. Our room was extremely small. The clerk told us the breakfast began at 6 when it was 6:30. When we booked the motel claimed to have a hot breakfast, but that is only on weekends we came to find out this morning. They were doing some sort of remodeling or something of that nature upstairs yesterday late afternoon/early evening. It was extremely noisy and impossible to relax. The room was just too small to relax in. We were not welcomed as diamond members when checking in. We have stayed in well over 100 choice motels over the years and seldom are we as disappointed as were last night.
