Mi Casa — Restaurant in San Antonio

So my problem isn’t with the food or the service, it’s with not having any idea what you’re going to be paying when you get up to the register to leave. There’s a sign on the door that says something about fluctuations in pricing but when I went to pay I was expecting to pay like 15 bucks (menu prices) and ended up paying 40 (fluctuations in prices) ! They charge you for EVERYTHING here, and boy do they like to charge you! Chips and salsa are extra and to go orders or even to go cups are extra, and that’s on top of their “fluctuating prices”. Now, the servers were polite, the place was clean, and the food was pretty good (not great) but the shock when they told me it was 32.00 plus a 8.00 tip for a breakfast plate and two bean and cheese tacos with two drinks! There are way too many places especially Mexican restaurants in San Antonio that charge way less for standard Mexican food. These guys are banking on keeping the prices mysterious until you’re trying to leave and that doesn’t sit right with me at all. I will NEVER be back this is a very shady business practice. They also charge you more if you’re using a card, a common scam used by small business owners that pass on the fee to accept card payments onto the customer. They love taking card payments but they don’t want to pay the fee that comes with it so they charge you extra so you pay them for taking your money. Nah I don’t like...

It was my first time here. None of the workers were wearing masks. So much for the sign. I wish the mature server was friendlier. She gave me a very serious look upon entering. First impressions are everything. I asked her what time they closed. She said 2:00 there was still 40 min left and when i oredered she did not knew how the picadillo was prepared. When I told her no onions she said it did not come with onions. She gave me a look like hurry up. When my food was brought it was to go. I told her i was eating in. I feel they should not discriminate on attire idk but these women should be more friendly. I always eat out. The picadillo was ok. I did get charged an extra .50 on the receipt when she knew I was dinning in I even tokd both of them its my first time here. I asked the skinny server the one with the tatoos if they charge extra to go because I got charged an extra .50 she said ni. But it did not occur to me until after i drove away that the mature server charged me extra for the to go cup. I thought it was weird i got a to go cup when its a restaurant. I should have got a regular cup. These women are prob related to the owner. My taco was very thin. I should have taken a picture but I entered their establishment because I was hungry. Bad service understaffed and bad quality food half of it was cold half of it was brought out it wasn't even complete. I end up eating last from my family because my order half of it came out and it got cold and I had to send it back and then they brought me the wrong order I had to send it back again. I had to wait to get refills and the tortillas late after 5 minutes after the food out as the food got cold. And at the end I ended up waiting another 15 minutes just to speak to management about the issue. And all that they can do is just not charge me the drinks. It just a bad experience all the way around. I visit San Antonio every year around this time and this just made everything suck at the end of my trip. Unfriendly staff and management. And then to top it off they want to sit there and argue with us instead of trying to defeat it and just make things right and come to a compromise. You want good quality food with good service and never fails I go there every yeah.
