Made a reservation for dinner. Arrived 8 minutes early. Folks in front of us in line and no one at the reception. 5 minutes later another family walked in and now 9 of us were in a very small reception area. Finally, 1 minute after our reservation time, someone came to seat everyone.
We ordered different combos of Teppanyaki, Sushi. Squid salad. Pepsi, Sierra Mist, and sweet tea were the drinks. The tea tasted old, anyone who's had old tea knows what I mean, and we replaced with water.
The sushi was outstanding. Nice, full, well rolled, and delicious. The house soup and salad that were included with the teppanyaki were delicious. The squid salad was different but good as well.
For the teppanyaki, disappointment there. Part of the reason to eat this is "the show". We'd eaten here a few times before over the last 10 years or so and had always been decently entertained. The cook at the area next to us (we asked for his name afterwards. He's called WeWe (pronounced ouioui like the French) was putting on a great show. There was a little girl at our grill who was there celebrating her 10th birthday and she was just taking it all in and her facial expression just showed how much she was enjoying it. When our cook came out her focus shifted and she sat riveted with anticipation and a big smile. Our cook barely spoke and did two tricks (the initial big burn and a volcano that burned more outside than inside) . He came, cooked, left, and the other guy was just finishing up, although he had starter at least 15 minutes earlier. We were so disappointed for the young lady and her little brother. The rice was good, the steak was good, the veggies were good, but all our seafood was overcooked. One good point was that the other cook eventually came to our grill and gifted the young lady a stuffed monkey and that made her day.
All in all, i give it a high 3. The 5 stars on atmosphere was because the family who sat with us at the grill were great company and the other cook's enthusiasm and performance were outstanding and...
Read moreWe came here today wanting to do the Hibachi grill. When we arrived we were told we had to make a reservation for the Hibachi grill. I advised the hostess that information should really be on their website so customers know to call prior to driving to their location. Her response “it’s not our responsibility on what gets posted on the website.” And the negative experience begins. We asked to speak to the manager. His name was “Phil” we suggested to him the restaurant should put information about the hibachi grill so customers know. His response “we don’t have a website for the restaurant.” When we told him “yes you do” he response changed to “oh, the owner is responsible for that information” and proceeded to ask my mother what Asian nationality she was as if to dust the main issue under the rug. My mother was insulted by this. My mother advised him the hostess attitude alone was enough to warrant at least an apology and him asking her Nationality was irrelevant to the entire situation. Do you think we received an apology? NO. We watched several other families arrive wanting to do the hibachi grill and were also informed they had to make a reservation. They too made the same comments. The actual food outside the hibachi was Ok. The quality of the food could have been better. Because of the lack of customer service we will not be returning to...
Read moreAs usual, the food was delicious. However, unfortunately we were confronted by a waitress from H--- (Jo-Anna)! We noticed the restaurant wasn’t busy, so decided to eat there. I waited approximately 7 mins to be seated, but Jo-Anna ignored me & started cleaning a table. I asked if I could sit at a table next to me & she said, “No, it’s not clean.” The table only had a few crumbs on it. But worse… Jo-Anna didn’t even attempt to stop clearing the other table. My friend couldn’t believe it & “quietly” remarked to me, why couldn’t she just quickly wipe the table. Jo-Anna immediately spoke out and told us to be patient. I approached her and said, her rudeness wasn’t necessary & that we were just wondering why she couldn’t just wipe the table. She refused to listen & told me to step back & get away from her. I couldn’t believe it. I asked her name & asked to speak with the manager. She smiled & gestured like, “Who cares!” The manager, Pramook was so very understanding & explained his unfortunate circumstance. He quickly wiped the table & personally served us. The service he provided was outstanding! I wanted to give him a huge tip, but found out all the waitresses shared their tips. Wow….that’s why Jo-Anna is comfortable being ugly & rude to customers….she hangs on the coat tails of the...
