Staybridge Suites San Antonio Downtown Conv Ctr, an IHG Hotel — Hotel in San Antonio

I had to travel for work and brought along my husband and 2 kids. (2 years old and 2 months old) The 1 bedroom suite was wonderful and allowed for me to go in the bedroom and shut the door to sleep while the kids played in the living/kitchen area. The rooms are sound proof and I slept very well while my husband watched tv and the kids played in the next room. The staff was VERY friendly and worked hard to make my stay enjoyable. The hot breakfast and social hour in the evening were wonderful! Free food, beer, and wine in the evenings cant be beat! And then we had a full fridge/freezer to keep our leftovers, dishes and a microwave to warm them up, and a dishwasher to clean up afterwards! There is an outdoor pool and a patio area with a couple of grills. People were grilling steaks and there were even people on the patio carving a pumpkin! You really feel at home at this hotel! I just wish it was warmer so we could've enjoyed the pool and patio more! There is a washing machine and dryer that are free to use. You just provide the detergent. (Which they sell in the mini store that they have by the front desk.# Speaking of the mini store, they have drinks, snacks, toiletries, and other items for sell right in the lobby. If you get the late night munchies, just walk downstairs for some ice cream or cookies! They have DVD players in every room and books and DVDs in the lobby that you can borrow while you are there. The wifi is free and there is a business center with computers and a printer for use during your stay. The only issue we had with our stay - There is an event venue right next door that holds banquets and parties. One of the nights we stayed, there was a banquet going on there. They had an outdoor DJ and dance area. The music wasnt blaring, but we could hear the bass in our room. The music went on until about 11:15 PM. Just when I was starting to get irritated, the music finally stopped. But this was just one night and the other nights were nice and peaceful. #Note: Our room was on the side of the hotel that faced this venue. We could see the banquet happening right from our window. I suppose if you get a room facing the other way, the noise may not even be an issue.) Overall, this is a WONDERFUL place to stay. As a family of six with kids ranging from 5 to 18 years old we recently have the pleasure of staying at the Staybridge Suites during a challenging time. My husband had just undergone total hip replacement surgery and the Staybridge Suites went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and convenient. From the time we arrived, we were impressed by the twenty four hour secured entrance providing us with piece of mind. The daily hot breakfast served on-site was a game changer. Ensuring our family was fueled for the day ahead. The well stocked pantry was also a lifesaver , allowing us to grab items we may have forgotten to pack. The hotel's amenities including the pool and fitness center were hit with our kids allowing them to burn off energy and stay entertained. But the real standout was the exceptional service we received. While my husband was recovering from his surgery the housekeeping staff was attentive and courteous in cleaning the areas we requested with care. A special shout out goes to Miss Gloria at the front desk, Who went above and beyond to assist us with our military paperwork and answer all questions we had. Her professionalism and kindness made a stressful situation much easier to navigate. Overall the Staybridge Suites truly made our stay special and comfortable. The 24 hour secured entrance, daily hot breakfast, on-site amenities were incredibly convenient, secured parking behind a gate that required key access, and the three days a week- social hour with appetizers and alcoholic beverages of you choose to partake, but it was the staff's attention to detail and genuine hospitality that truly set this hotel apart. We had a magnificent two bedroom King suite that sleeps up to 8 people, with a kitchen, fridge, stove top, dishes, etc. We would highly recommend the Staybridge Suites to any family especially those with unique needs as they demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring our every need was met.
