Our visit with Days Inn by Wyndham in San Antonio was DISGUSTING, we cancelled our week with them & found a new hotel within 1hour of being there.
•The location wasn’t the same as my confirmed booking. Apparently they moved locations. •We pull in the new locations parking lot & it’s so crowded it felt like someone would hit our truck. •The office was under construction-covered in sheet rock dust & has a counter, & a cafeteria style chair sitting in the corner. We received no paperwork & were told parking would be $12/day. I called when booking on 5-25-21 they said $10/day. I also confirmed no covid restrictions on the pool, which they didn’t have now since they moved locations. •The King Suite, which they confirmed on 5-25-21 had a couch. We open the door to find a bed, desk/chair, two open faced cube side tables, & larger open faced cubed “dresser” that had a microwave/mini fridge & no drawers for clothes. We start looking around the room & it was DISGUSTING! Within 15mins of being in our “clean & ready room” I had to ask housekeeping for a broom & dust pan because I could see hair & dirt on the floor. My son had kicked his shoes off in our truck during our 7HOUR drive there, so I carried him to the room barefoot. Within 15mins of being there, his feet bottoms were BLACK. There was no closet rod to hang clothes, no dresser for clothes, no couch (which was confirmed) for our “king suite” & it was so dirty we had to get out. Hair in the room, dead bugs on the floor, bed & on the extra blankets & pillows they brought to our room that were “clean”. There was hair stuck to the door with some kind of nasty mush stuff. Finger prints on the blinds above the AC. Finger/hand marks on the door & walls. There were ants crawling around the floor. Soft spots in the floor that you could feel sink when you walked on them. The door didn’t seal properly & there was no chain lock to keep my young ones safely in the room. The bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way. There was cracked/dried grout in the track for the closet door which we could barely open-it was clearly broken. My husband went to ask the manager (Joann-the GM) where the couch was, the closet rod, chain lock on the door, the dresser & more. Her response was “we are under renovation, we are still waiting on those things.” He asked for a roll away bed, which there website said was available on request, they didn’t have those either. I spoke to her & asked why we weren’t emailed & informed of all the errors/changes that would be taking place surrounding our visit. I told her I called to confirm multiple things on 5-25. Her response was “changes began June 1st & because we booked through hotels.com that it was the 3rd parties responsibility to email us, not theirs.” I said YET, I have received MULTIPLE emails from Days Inn reminding me about my upcoming stay at their old address with no information about any changes. Her response-well we can just cancel your stay & refund you for the entire visit & you can go back home. I told her I didn’t drive SEVEN hours with my kids to turn around & drive back home because they lied to us.
My husband went to the office to cancel & get our refund. The manager-Joann-the GM-told him it would ALL ($671.05) be refunded & show back up on the card in a few days. Again no paperwork. We were in San Antonio from 7-10-21 to 7-16-21. By Friday our FULL amount was not back on the card. They refunded $525.11-they stole $145.94 from us. My husband goes back up there & talks to Joann. She said they automatically charge for 1nights stay when you cancel, but a request had been put in for a full refund & it should be in our bank by the following Monday-Wednesday. He requested paperwork & we left. We arrived July 10th, canceled with an hour & were told we would receive a FULL refund in a few days. The date is August 10th & we STILL haven’t received our money! They are liars and thieves and will be reported to the better Business Bureau and...
Read moreRestroom want clean when we got there. I booked for 3 nights stay. After the first night, the cleaning ladies were knocking on the door around 1030 and before I could open the door they barged in within 15 seconds not even allowing me to get to the door. My wife was still in bed in underwear. Then around 130 that same day, the housekeeping manager I assume (cuz she had a clipboard) did the exact same thing. She knocked one time and barged in before I could answer the door. I paid for 3 nights and they asked if I was checking out or staying another night. I told them I was prepaid and booked for 3. She apologized but didn't make it any better cuz it didn't seem sincere and she walked off. Then after this we decided to hit the town and upon our return to our room that evening, the room key had been deactivated. Had to go to office and they had deactivated key and they asked if I had decided to stay another night? Meaning key was deactivated because I was showing I checked out. Omg... Here we go again. Anyway, they activated my key and I told them about housekeeping and being rude earlier that day. She just smiled and apologized. Luckily they didn't rent out our room while we were gone. They all need to get their act together and also need to report housekeeping. They need to knock and have them wait for a response from inside before barging in. It gets better... The very next morning which was our 3rd day now, the same exact thing happened again with housekeeping. About 1030 am the cleaning lady knocked and barged in. Good thing I had the latch on this time which I normally do but forgot to latch the door the night before because we got to room after a night out on the Riverwalk. Anyway, I yelled back for her to close the door and then went to answer it. Told her that we weren't checking out and it was rude of them to just barge in like they do. Wait... Gets better. Then about 30 minutes after that, the same manager as before with her clipboard did the same thing. Knocked once and opened door. Latch was still on. I gave her a piece of my mind and how unprofessional they were and that it was rude to wake people and just barge in. Again on the last day, they did it again but I was up already and heard them coming. Waited by the door and as soon as they knocked I answered. They already had the key and caught them about to insert it in the door to open it. Check out isn't even until 12 and they were already pretty much running us off around 1020 am. Started getting bags together to load in car and the same housekeeping manager as before knocked and asked if we were checking out. Omg! What is wrong with these people?!!! Never will I stay here again and will not recommend it to anyone. Bad experience being woken up around 10 everyday. Couldn't sleep in even if we wanted to because of these rude housekeeping people. So much for my vacation stay......
Read moreOk so the good, you are 2 blocks from the Alamo , 3 blocks from the river walk mall, right by the hwy if that means anything to anyone. Ok so the bad goes like this : They only had smoking room for us non smokers is what it is, definitely a smell but to be expected. We saw the floor of a few other rooms that had tile/hard wood laminate, we had carpet that just holds the grossness of smoking.... that room needed a make over bad. The bathroom door handle was about to fall off. The fan in the bathroom didn't work..hard to flush toilet (like you had to pull the handle a few times to get it to work) and tiny bathroom that if you put your clothes on the rack wrong there falling in the toilet. With the pics that they show, it seems like half of the rooms are or have gotten a make over and the other half are ??? Maybe in the process or who knows, good luck if you get one of them like we did. Now here is the major thing, the hotel, the building was split in 2 on 2 separate blocks separated by another hotel in-between... Everytime our room card didn't work (3 times) I had to walk down the stairs and across 2 streets to get it fixed , the parking lot for building 2 was narrow... Big trucks like a crewcab were tight. It was a fight for outlets to charge phones... This day and age that should not be a problem, lack of outlets. Really ? The gap at the bottom of the door was just an invitation for anything large to crawl in, seriously like 2 inches no weather seal. Beds were okay. The free breakfast area is like 2 small tables in the front office/check in/out area, we opted for Dennys down the block rather than be that cramped with others we don't know an d get somewhat better food. Put it this way, Overall it was a cheap place to stay that's near everything cheap being the key word. One final thought... When I searched for a hotel I put free parking in the filter, this came up that's why I chose it. When I got there parking was 20 a night, it got waved due to only a smoking room left as opposed to having a non gross non smoking room but still if your search engine returns this hotel with free parking you were warned it...
