When I heard of a matcha shop thatâs open as late as this place was, I was super excited! We drove 20 minutes away to arrive at 9PM. Saturday night, the shop was empty, staff mopping the floors. I do wish we were a little more welcomed. As I mentioned, we drove from a while away and it was our first time. Would have loved to get a little run down of the place or get asked if it was our first time for some recommendations.
Our first order, we ordered an ube coconut oatmilk matcha and a mango cloud matcha. Both iced. The ube coconut was very meh. I was hoping to be more excited by it. The mango cloud was pretty good. Both could have been mixed a little better. They were both very thick and grainy.
We then made another order of 2 hot lavender matchas with oatmilk. Hoping this was a no brainer, I was a little disappointed. There was way too much lavender syrup in both of them and just felt rushly made.
Love the idea of a late night place to get a soothing matcha but overall, I wasnât impressed. Loved the athletic and layout. It was very clean. Iâm sure itâs a cute spot to study and hang out. But maybe better next time.
CAME BACK TO ADD:
We also paid THIRTY DOLLARS...
Read moreI visited Zen Haus yesterday and ordered 3 drinks. Unfortunately, after waiting about 40 minutes, my order was still not ready. When I inquired about a refund, I was informed that a manager was needed to process it. After waiting several more minutes, I had to leave as I was running late for work and couldnât stay any longer. I left without my drinks or a refund.
I then called the location and was told that they handle both the beauty and Zen Haus calls, and that I would need to request a refund through their Instagram account. This required me to take time away from work to message, follow up, and make additional phone calls to finally receive a confirmation.
In the end, I was told that nothing could really be done to compensate for the time I lost at the location or while processing the refund. Later, I was offered a free drink for everything.
While I understand that sometimes things happen, I do hope that the process can be improved for future customers so situations like this are handled more...
Read moreWe were really excited to try Zen Haus this morning, but our experience was far from what we expected. The girl serving us (she had bleached brows) was very rude which ruined our visit. She saw we were unsure about the menu (different sweetness levels etc) yet she responded with blunt, deadpan answers that were unhelpful and off-putting.
On top of that, there was a vintage clothing stand where we were ready to purchase four items. When we tried to pay, we were told the only option was Venmo or Paypal. Since weâre not from the U.S., the code didnât work. We asked if there were any other payment options, but she mumbled something like no not sure, ( surely we could have paid cash or paid by card and she could have used her account) we ended up walking away without making any purchases so whoever was selling their clothes lost out on a few sales.
From the moment we walked in, the vibe was off. Itâs really disappointing because Zen Haus clearly promotes a welcoming atmosphere, yet it felt...
