This is a Courtyard by Marriott. Not sure if it's a rebrand or what's up with the name. Management for this property would benefit from some sobriety. Hotel is under construction, management COULD list this on the app, website or third party sites, choose not to. Bar and restaurant on-site are closed due to construction, also no notification of this. Point of booking a hotel with a bar on-site is so that you don't have to leave. They give you a list of other bars within a couple mile radius incase you want to casually go for a long walk instead of grabbing a drink at the downstairs bar. Breakfast hours are wrong. They hand you a sheet at check-in with breakfast hours listed, breakfast ends 1 hour earlier everyday than on the handout. 2 of 4 elevators are working. The elevators are slow because of this. One of the broken ones is the staff elevator. I kept seeing them struggle, with us, to get between floors. Plan 10 minutes to travel up or down each time, each direction. Parking garage is meant for miniature cars. Think a 2 door Smart Car. My rental was an Elantra and I really struggled to get through the garage. I overhead the front desk telling a guest that the parking is first come first serve and if you're unable to get a space, it's completely on you to find different parking. They also charge $40 a night for parking. The parking garage is on levels 2, 3 and 4. I'd say 35+/- parking spaces per floor. The stairs do not connect to the lobby. One set of stairs is for emergency only. The other stairs are accessible, but the first floor exit takes you to the east side of the building. The east entrance is under construction so you must walk 2 blocks to the west of the building to get in the front door. The alternative is to wait the 5-10 minutes for the elevator to arrive.
Lighting in the rooms is subpar. Think dark speak easy vibes where you can't really see the bartenders face when you order a drink. The lights are placed so that the room is lit, but not placed so that the light is usable for much. I had to drag the bench into the door way at night so I could see into my suitcase, none of the other lights were adequate.
Fridge didn't really work. It cooled to 45-50° F. It looks new.
I usually travel with my medication that requires medication, I'm glad this trips timing worked out so I wouldn't have to throw away my medication.
The only usable real outlet is the in bathroom. All outlets in the bed area are covered up and only accesible through the provided extension cords or built into cabinet outlets. You know the kind with a lose connection and not enough power to fast charge your phone? Very annoying.
The are many great hotels in the area, choose one of them. Save yourself the numerous headaches of...
Read moreThis hotel is absolutely terrible. The entire hotel is under construction. They do not warn you that it is under construction when you book it online. The lobby is disgusting with holes in the roof and wall all over the place. The elevators do not function at all, so if they put you on a higher floor, you are completely screwed. One day we had to wait almost 25 minutes for the elevator and while waiting for it to go down, it just completely turned off the switch and wouldn't allow us to request the elevator to go down. So we had to click the up button travel to a bunch of floors and then finally we're able to go to the lobby. The biggest problem is the fact that the staff do not care at all. When we complained about the non-functioning elevators they said oh. We're aware we're working on it and then did absolutely nothing. Additionally, the hotel does not do anything about the homeless people who are camped outside of the hotel, which makes it a little bit scary to leave at night.
The hotel rooms themselves. I believe our being renovated but the room they put us in was disgustingly outdated. It looks like it hasn't been updated since the early 2000s. Not to mention our television didn't work initially so had to wait an hour for an engineer to come by and try to fix it.
Even worse is the parking situation this hotel. Not only are they charging $40 a night. The hotel parking entrance is the scariest and most narrow entryway I have ever seen. There is damage all over the walls for the ramp from patrons who crash their cars. Furthermore, parking garage is poorly structured so that if you would like to exit the garage, you have to make a 15-point turn because one of the parking spaces is directly in front of the ramp and if you don't plan on scraping the side of your car along it, it takes a while to align the car when there's a car parked in that spot, which should not be a spot to allow for the ease of exiting the garage.
All in all terrible accommodations despite a decent location. I would highly recommend you...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Although my husband mentioned the hotel’s lower rating, I wanted to give it a fair try and form my own opinion.
At check-in, the staff let us know that the hotel is currently under renovation, so some areas are still a work in progress. While there’s no onsite restaurant or gym, they provide local dining recommendations and discounts, and they offer a complimentary pass to a nearby gym (less than half a mile away). My husband tried it and had no complaints. They also did mention they provided a basic continental breakfast.
The location is definitely a plus, it’s right in downtown Little Italy, which is a great area to explore. Parking is available in a small garage directly under the hotel, which is convenient, though it is tight and costs about $40 per night. They do mention that if you can’t find a spot and were planning to pay, you won’t be charged. There are also nearby garages, though I’m not sure of their rates. We opted to keep our car parked the whole time to avoid losing our spot. I’m assuming if you park elsewhere they’ll need proof of that in order to void your payment at their garage.
The hotel room itself was decent and had the basic amenities we needed. The restroom could have been a bit cleaner, as the shower curtain and carpet had some stains. The room did feel humid at first, but once the AC was on, the temperature stayed comfortable throughout our stay.
One of the main drawbacks for us was the elevator situation. During check-out, it took about 10 minutes to get one since we were on the 14th floor, and many other guests were also waiting on different floors. With only three elevators and not all of them functioning smoothly, it was a bit of a hassle during busy times. Not to mention that it was hot while waiting for the elevator and once inside of it as well.
Overall, the hotel has potential and some good qualities, especially the location, but there are still areas that could be improved as...
