Sphere Self-Portrait Photo Studio — Local services in San Diego

Our family photoshoot at Sphere Photo studio was a blast! The appointment making was really simple with flexible slot options. After making the appointment, we had a lot of questions but the owner Alesia patiently answered all of our questions and put us at ease. Alesia provided recommendations on the backdrop options and also helped us co-ordinate outfits that would make us look the best. There is ample parking right outside and around the studio which made parking a breeze. This photography studio is very high tech with professional lighting, amazing backdrop options, props, big mirror for posing, clicker for taking pictures, screen for instant review and a digital clock to keep a watch on time although we never felt rushed. Alesia provided a great guidance on where to stand and sit for great pictures. Note that we were a big group of 10 people including a toddler and a newborn, however the studio was very spacious to accommodate all of us easily. All of us had fun taking family pictures in various different big & small groups, couple pictures, pictures with kiddos and also solo pictures. Also, we being our own photographers made even the people who were camera shy really become very comfortable which resulted in amazing pictures. We received the pictures within 24 hours which was lightning quick. It was a fun family activity and the amazing pictures were just surreal. The professional lighting, high end cameras along with the backdrop & props made our pictures really pop with zero effort. I came across an add on instagram and found this self-portrait photo studio! I’m pregnant with our second and I decided late in my pregnancy that I did in fact want maternity photos. I wanted so badly to do a studio style photoshoot but didn’t know anyone I could book last minute. Luckily this studio had appointments in the next few days! I am SO happy we found them because our photos came out exactly how I pictured they would be or better.

Because we can bring our own props, I wanted to use fast food in our photos. I was running behind so I ordered Door Dash to the studio and the woman at the front desk was SO kind to run out and flag down my Dasher to pick up my order for me.

They have other props in the studio you can also use and they give you a clicker to take your photos. There’s no visible camera but a giant mirror so you know exactly how you look. They also set up a timer for the allotted window of time you booked it for. I didn’t plan much beforehand so the 45 minutes flew by — mostly because we were having so much fun. Our edited photos even came less than the promised 24 hours turn-around time! All around amazing and unforgettable experience!!...

I purchased a voucher to use at this photo studio during a weekend with my friend in San Diego and was notified under 24 hours before the appointment that the AC was broken during a heat wave and that we should reschedule.

We were unable to reschedule because neither of us are from the area and we could not change our plans to come in earlier the day of our appointment. I had to issue a chargeback through my credit card because Sphere said we could have continued with our photoshoot in an uncomfortable environment and would not refund our money.

The person I communicated with to schedule the appointment was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated that they tried to reschedule with us and informed us of the situation. However the fact that they expected my pregnant friend and I to come do our photoshoot without AC during a heat wave and refuse to provide a refund is unreasonable. They keep suggesting a reschedule but we are not...
