While the hotel is well located in the essentially the heart of San Francisco, and the rooms appear to be newly renovated which makes for a nice vibe and feel in the rooms.
Our particular experience was anything but pleasant and was chosen to be shared to make all future guests at least aware of what could happen.
We booked through Booking. Com, we arrived and were told there was no parking available on the private lot and would have to find parking on the street where we would then be required to vacate prior to 6am for street cleaning.
Thankfully after taking a peak throughout the lot one final stall was available at the far back suitable for maximum a mid sized SUV at most. Definitely something to consider if you find yourself with a larger vehicle as the lot is somewhat tight with the stalls closer to entrance being best suited for the larger vehicles.
We were given our passes to our room and made our way up the stairs and upon scanning into the room we were greeted by who we discovered a little later was the on duty manager just getting out of the shower. Leaving my now deeply frustrated wife and grumpy child I make my way to the front desk to claim the proper room key for our room one level up as the room we were first given was under maintenance and the wrong one.
We enter into our proper room, and I begin setting up the couch bed and laying the sheets when I hear my wife screech in disgust as she steps on to a ball of hair left on the floor on her way to the bathroom, to make matters worse we turn on the lights on the whole space to expose a few other balls of hair and many other strands of hair throughout the floor and hand prints on the shower door and more hair in the shower. Along with dirt and grime throughout the floor near the space entrance.
To add insult to injury, we pull the bed covers back and find yet another hair right in the middle of the bed during our brief investigation to see the depth of dirt throughout the room.
Immediately the front desk is once again contacted, they then say they will come see us in our room in a couple minutes. 10 or so minutes pass and no one comes, turns out the other employee on duty had made her way to the lower room where we were initially greeted by the freshly showered manager to quickly clean the room to give us another opportunity to stay the night and up to this point no sign of the manager. I end up making my way to the lower level when I finally see him.
We have an exchange with the manager emphasising how disgusted we are and my wife opts to inspect the lower room in an effort to feel some comfort prior to agreeing to stay, as she goes in after the brief cleaning to inspect. She decides to once again pull the duvet back to find yet another few curly hairs across the surface of the bed.
As you might imagine, this was the end, another exchange followed with the manager eventually providing a direct refund after stating we would have to deal with Booking. Com instead.
All this to say, inspect your rooms prior to getting settled, it appears as the manager stated to us that the housekeeping team isn't on top of things the way they should be. There was also some justification from the manager we talked with trying to state it was normal for them to shower in the rooms and we shouldn't expect anything else as the room was under maintenance even though they were going to give it to us anyway after a brief cleaning.
If you have any other options at all, maybe keep this place at the bottom of your list, we ended up going with an airbnb and we're far more pleased even with it not being in the...
Read moreThe rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. End of the good thing . We stayed her because its in the middle of everything and we weren't spending much time here and only staying for two days but never again. First when they found out my parents were handicapped they asked if we wanted a handicap room and my mom said yes...the lady told us it was on the fourth floor?!?! I'm not sure how that makes sense. Bigger tub maybe?so we stuck with the room we have. Next the elevator was last inspected in 2014 it was supposed to be inspected the first of last month. If it has been they haven't posted the new inspection paper. The balcony is slightly slanted and the bars seem sketch . All the outlets either as loose or pooch ou . My parents room had a shower cap over the fire alarm for reasons we don't know. We plugged a phone charger and it shorted the bathroom light. Their AC was unplugged before they moved into the room and after one look at the plug I wouldn't let them plug it back i . My room had AC that worked one night but the next night when my wife turned it on it smelled like something was burning and no nothing was on top of it. They dont have extra blankets. And the shelves in the fridge are broken. Oh and the toilet runs forever when you flush it. And finaly after being out of the room from 11 am until 1030pm we came back to a clean room which was nice but also a random sink full of water. Like someone pulled the little thing up on the sink so it would plug and filled it with water...
Read moreMy stay at La Casa Hotel in San Francisco was absolutely fantastic. The room was comfortable, the parking was safe and conveniently located, and the hotel was close to everything we needed.
But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. Here’s our wild story: I was traveling with a friend visiting from Australia, and we accidentally left her passport in the room safe. We didn’t realize this until we were two days and hundreds of miles away. Talk about a panic moment!
The staff at La Casa were absolute lifesavers. After we called them, they not only located the passport in the safe but went above and beyond to solve our problem. They personally took the passport to a local UPS store and had it shipped to our final destination in Washington State. Who does that?! Most hotels wouldn’t go to these lengths.
Thanks to their diligence and helpfulness, we avoided what we thought was going to be a long, stressful drive back to San Francisco. WOW!
From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing. They gave us great tips on where to go and how to navigate the city, and we always felt safe—something that’s so important when two women are traveling together.
I can’t thank the La Casa Hotel team enough for turning what could have been a disaster into a smooth and memorable experience. I will 100% stay here again, and I trust their staff completely. Thank you for...
