First upon booking the total price of the reservation turned out to be more than 100% the originally stated cost after taxes, this was not mentioned until they processed my payment and I received a receipt. 5 minutes after booking, I reached out to the host who’s alleged name is Randall, his response was basically “despite the sudden price hike, you are lucky to have gotten such a great deal on an amazing home in an exclusive area, there will be no refund”. I have been vacationing in PR for 2 and a half weeks, and until then every hotel/bnb and host had been amazing so I did not want to sour that trek, and so I decided I would enjoy the hotel I had already paid for albeit without fully agreeing to the full price. Within the first couple hours after checking in, it became obvious this hotel was not worth the originally stated price, much less the higher price total. There was ridiculously low water pressure in every faucet, toilet, and shower. At times there was no water at all. I immediately reached out to the Randall, who claimed to not know why this could be happening. First he tried teaching me how to use the shower, which I knew already, then he claimed to check if the water tank was functioning properly which apparently it was, and finally he claimed to teach out to a plumber to service the unit immediately. That never happened, no one ever came to fix one of the most basic and essential utilities expected to work in a rental unit. From beginning to end of our reservation, we were not able to shower or at times wash our hands at our hotel. We had to shower at a gym nearby paying 15$ for day passes each day of our reservation. On the last day of our reservation, after more than 24 hours without a single update from the host, I reached out again asking for a reasonable partial refund and reimbursement for the money I had to spend at another business to use there shower. Did the host read this message? According to WhatsApp yes he read it. Did he care? Likely not, did he reply? Not at all. To this day, 2 days after checking out I have not heard from him or his LLC. Actually I have heard back from their booking page with automated messages asking me to leave them a review, so here’s my honest review. Do not book this unit or any unit in this building which they likely own entirely. It’s not a “beachside” property like they falsely claim, it’s 2 blocks in the direction opposite of the beach. As per my experience, essential utilities such as running water are not guaranteed. While concern and accountability by the owner/hosts is also not guaranteed. Read moreI reserve the apt for two night from 12/28-12/30 Upon arriving at the apt at 4 pm. All doors were open and the place was not cleaned. The super/owner had to call the cleaning crew to come in because he was not even aware it was not cleaned. I can supply the text as well. Since Randell implied that I was stating something different. and we were told to leave for a while. I retunred around 9:30 pm. We have discover there as no hot water at all. And there was barely any water coming out of the faucet in the kitchen. I have emailed , called, and text the property and the only response I got was they will look into it the next day. 12/29. No one showed up l. Still no hot water to showe at all. To address the washer in the unit we were told after inquiring that it was outside of the building around the corner. 12/30 when we had to leave at 12pm. Someone showed up at 10am said they are the plumber. And they had fix the pipes in the kitchen. I have no access to teh kitchen to tidy things up to leave. And the cleaning crew shows up at 11am and we have to leave. The owner Randel have not repondes I. Regards to teh hot water which we did not have for the whole stay. And will not compensate for zero hot water. Imagine on vacation in Puerto Rico without any hot water to shower. Read moreMy friends and I had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It is located in the perfect place for exploring San Juan. The neighborhood is super convenient for anyone visiting PR, close to good restaurants and really good coffee shops. It is also less than a one-minute walk to the beach, just across the street. It’s 5 minutes by Uber/Lyft to Isla Verde and about 10 minutes to Viejo San Juan. There are plenty of shops for souvenirs around and supermarkets too. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. The common area is spacious, and the kitchen is well equipped, lots of room overall. We were six and had a comfy stay. The KTJ Krug team was very friendly and always responded promptly.
