This is one of Savannah’s newest hotels in the river area and it did not disappoint. Front desk check in with a breeze, however, I did start getting several charges coming on my credit card. When I called the front desk about it, the attendant told me that the girl who checked me in, which was a young white girl, did not run my Credit card correctly for incidentals, which is why those charges began to come in. Honestly, the girl who checked me in seemed a little snobby acting, so I’m not sure if she did that on purpose or she is just incompetent, but be careful when you check in and ask the front desk attendant to make sure they run your card correctly. This hotel appeared to be designed to appeal to the business class and the hallways where the guest rooms are remind me of the TV show Severance, which I thought was hilarious. No real complaints about the room, but be warned that they will not come and clean your room daily even if you request it on the app. You will have to call the front desk daily to have someone come up and change towels, etc. I will also say that they came quickly and were very friendly. I also liked that you have to use your card key to access floors in the hotel which is an exceptional security feature that all hotel should have. One thing that is puzzling about this hotel is them neglecting to have microwaves in the rooms or at least downstairs in the lobby area. I don’t think this is very convenient for people traveling with a baby. Unless you were traveling with a bottle warmer or something you will not be able to heat your baby’s bottle nor will you be able to warm up any food for your child or yourself. I guess the hotel knows the food in the area sucks so bad that nobody will probably want to bring any back there lol. To access the Main Street, you either have to walk up a flight of stairs or you can walk up the cobblestone walkway which I wouldn’t advise. You can also go to floor 5 (f I remember correctly ) and exit street level which is pretty convenient, but I don’t know why the front desk doesn’t tell guests that upon checking in. The rooftop lounge is very cozy and with checking out, but, the lavender martini is disgusting and definitely not worth the price. The bad about this hotel is the parking which is the main reason I knocked off a star. There is no parking lot outside the hotel…you are forced to park in a corner deck and pay $50 for valet parking or $45 a day (or whatever the owner wants to charge according to their website) if you park yourself. This is 100% price gouging from whomever owns that parking deck. There’s no way the fee should be that high for people staying in the hotel. Also, if you allow valet to park for you, be aware that these guys are whipping your vehicles around that parking deck at record breaking speeds. I had one almost hit me in someone’s nice, expensive BMW, and there are no corner mirrors to see what’s coming, so no one should be driving that fast in the deck. Overall, I think this is a good hotel for maybe one or two night’s stay, again it’s definitely geared towards business class, but I don’t think I would stay here again if I need to stay...
Read moreThe location is great and the hotel is very nice! Being a newer hotel you can tell they are working through a few kinks. I booked two separate reservations since I used points to cover one night and had a river front room on the second. I had reached out prior to our stay (via the mobile app) and asked if it was possible to have a balcony room for both nights so we didn’t have to move rooms. The hotel responded they could do that. When we checked in that had not been noted and they did not have any balcony rooms left for our first night. No big deal, just a little disappointing.
The gentleman who checked us in (maybe a manager) was awesome! He took the time to try and make it right even though he was very busy. While he couldn’t get us in the balcony room he made it right with an alternative solution. Employees like him make me confident this hotel will find their footing. All the rest of the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Valet was good, I somehow missed this hotel had valet. I will say the valet is a third party so it does not appear the hotel has much oversight on the valet. They did not communicate super well that you have until 1PM after checkout to get your car out to avoid a $25 fee. In addition, after 1PM I could not use the valet app anymore to request my vehicle.
The rooftop bar was a nice spot. The drinks were good and reasonably priced for Savannah. The food is what you expect for a hotel, decent but not great. Savannah is full of so many great food options next time we will save the money.
All the things we experienced were minor. We would stay here again, and we come to Savannah at least...
Read moreI booked a king front river view room with a balcony as a 4th July surprise for my wife we drove down from Va. for a 4 day getaway. I paid in advance for the room. I read reviews where people not getting the rooms they paid for so I called the hotel to verify the room I paid for was the king front river view the lady on the phone told that yes it was a king front river view with a balcony. I even called Marriott Bonvoy Member services they told I should get the room I paid for. So when we checked in I asked the young about the room and told me yes it was a king front river view with a balcony. When got to the room it was king corner river view room so that point I am pissed off. My wife just said forget and let’s enjoy. The water pressure was was very very low and the water was not getting hot so we took cold showers. I have been so disappointed with Marriott service, I understand it’s a new hotel, but come no hot water or water pressure. I paid for the front view room so in the evening my wife could come to our room have a glass of wine and watch the ships go by. As a Bonvoy member I was so disappointed in the hotel. I really wanted to give the AC Hotel a shot being where the hotel is located I was expecting better. As a long member of different hotels. We checked out the next day and checked into the Hyatt Regency Hotel down the street. May be I will give AC HOTEL another shot later on this year when we return for a longer getaway. I am only giving the 2 ⭐️⭐️ because of the water pressure, hot water issues and given the room I paid almost $400 a night Disappointed Marriott...
