Where do I began 🤔 My original reservation was at Homewood Suites which is next door. My check in time was at 9pm at Homewood suites. On my check in day before coming to Savannah, I got a blow out on the expressway in Adersville. I called roadside assistance and the wait was ninety minutes. They came and changed the tire. I drove to Walmart in Calhoun for a new tire. After getting tire and sitting in traffic on 75 South it was almost check in time and I was nowhere near Savannah. So I called Homewood letting them know the situation and I was told ok she’ll let the night auditor know that I’m a late arrival. I arrived to Homewood after a stressful day at 2:00am I get to the desk and was greeted with an attitude but night auditor. Oh you don’t have a reservation, I cancelled the reservation because you wasn’t here. Also she said she wasn’t notified that I was coming late. The person before her didn’t tell her that I called. Night auditor was rude and wasn’t trying to accommodate at ALL. She didn’t care I had nowhere to stay. Plus the system was down so she was telling me everything she couldn’t do for me. So now I’m in Savannah without a place to stay until Saturday 😣
LET ME TELL YOU HOW MARRIOTT SAVANNAH RIVERFRONT SAVE THE DAY ❤️🙌🏽🥰💯
So I go over to Marriott Savannah Riverfront and their system down as well. BUT they worked through it by making copies of my card and license to process payment when the system was working properly. GAVE ME A ROOM 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 and I was so grateful. My daughter and I were so exhausted and all we wanted to do was shower and get to bed. We had to be up at 7:30am for school orientation. After getting dressed I go to front desk to check on payment and to see if they needed anything else from me. They were very nice again. So I continued with my day. After getting back in for the day I went back to the front desk to add another day. I love this hotel and I will return to the Marriott Savannah Riverfront. First impression is everything. I love how they worked through a tough time to accommodate my daughter and I. I’m forever ♾️ grateful ❤️💯❤️ My daughter will be here for four years and this will always be my hotel to stay at EVERY visit. Thank you so much Marriott Savannah Riverfront 10 out 10 The bed is comfortable. You’re within walking distance to restaurants, shops and the ferry ⛴️ plenty of parking. If you park in the parking deck follow the signs for lobby to get parking close to the lobby doors and elevator. There’s a bar and restaurant in lobby. Breakfast restaurant on second floor. Spa on first floor. Fitness center on first floor. Swimming pool was open as well.
On my last night at Marriott Savannah Riverfront I had a special delivery to my room by the food and beverage supervisor Wesley. Chocolate covered strawberries. He said he saw my review online and wanted to bring something to show appreciation and to cheer my daughter and I up. My daughter and I were both so excited. I really love it here. Marriott Savannah Riverfront turned the beginning of a bad trip turning it into the best trip ever. This is confirmation that my child will be in the right city for college at the Savannah State University. This is definitely the place I’m staying while my daughter is here for the...
Read moreUpdate: Thanks for the quick response but really the hotel is a major disappointment. We have not yet been moved to the room we booked and the current room has some issues that needs to be addressed. The carpet is just yuk. Really gives me the “ick”. We’re certainly not walking around the room barefoot. Shoes/slippers required! (Not that the hotel provides any) The coffee machine is missing a foot and then leaks all over the cabinetry. The walls and doors are paper thin so you get woken by others at all times of the night. The toilet really doesn’t want to be flushed and for a moment there I thought it was going to flood. Not what I expect for the price Marriott River Disappointment after disappointment. We made it abundantly clear that we would be arriving after 6:30 pm. It seems that the hotel were not exactly prepared. We have booked twin Queen Riverview. We were directed to room 330. Unfortunately, the hotel seems to have experienced some flooding, and outside our room were a number of evaporators and other large and noisy ventilation equipment. The room also smelled like someone had been smoking in there recently. The noise and smell were unacceptable and I find it very disturbing that they assigned that room KNOWING that it would be affected by the noisy equipment, the damp and the smoking smell. We went back to reception to ask for a different room. It seems that they were now overbooked and our room type was no longer available. Arranging another room took in excess of 10 minutes to work out. They then found us a room that was not Riverfront and instead overlooked the car park. Whilst the room was to be “compt.” for the night and we’d be moved to the room we had originally booked for our remaining stay, I have the overwhelming feeling of being undervalued as a client. Furthermore, the room that we were given reminded me of their lower priced chain hotels. No bath, lower value amenities, no in-room safe, lack of luggage storage, and more. The furniture has been renovated but the carpet is disgusting and wallpaper (or painted wall panels) makes you feel like you’re in a motel6. Quite frankly, it would’ve been better if we had stayed at one of the lower priced chain motels. At least then, I wouldn’t feel like I had been ripped off, and duped. Not happy. Not worth the price. Not...
Read more!Very Important! The people employed at the Marriott were truly top shelf. Kind, professional, expedient. 5 star people all the way. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights recently and we ate there each night. We got something different each night and each meal was amazing. It’s difficult sometimes to figure out where to eat when staying at a hotel. Not here. This restaurant is a great choice every time. Staff were crazy good as well. Polite, friendly, and never forgot about us or took too long. We had a room on the second floor facing the Savannah River. It was easily one of the best views that could have been had. Everything from small personal boats to very large shipping container ships went past our windows. Was very captivating at times. Plus, the scenery on the other side of the river was beautiful. What we saw from our room was never disappointing. The reason for only 4 stars- The room we stayed in was not cheap. We know now that it wasn’t for the amenities within our room, it was for everything else I’ve mentioned. The hotel itself was beautiful. However, our room was as basic as it gets. No microwave, very small motel type of mini fridge. One tiny table near a small couch and one chair near a small desk/table type thing along one wall. Our first night there we ordered room service and ate our dinner 10 feet from each other because the table was so small. Also, our windows were dirty and a little grimy. I attribute this to being directly on the river. Our actual view wasn’t bad, but I have professional camera gear that I take with us on most outings. Most pictures from our room were bad. My camera was either grabbing parts of the dirty windows or focusing on them all together. We went out and did the touristy thing so we have lots of great pictures. But very few from the spot that captivated us so many times. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel. There was nothing “Bad” about our experience. Hotel = 5 stars. Restaurant in the hotel = 5 stars. View from room = 5 stars. Room/windows = 3 stars. Room was very clean and everything worked, just very basic. I expected a little more for the prices and the caliber...
