The view is beautiful and right now the bar is not super busy since it's a newer hotel in Savannah. I do want to come back and try again after they have had more training and get into the swing of things. I am a Celiac which means I can't have gluten. Gluten includes all forms of wheat including barley, and malt. I was super excited to see that they had Daurra Damm as a beer option because it is a beer I can drink that is gluten removed. The server was unable to find that beer and instead brought us samples of the Tropicalia and local brewery Hoplin'. I live in Savannah and know for a fact that these beers are NOT Gluten Free. I tried to talk to the server but she swore up and down that these beers are gluten free and say so on the bottle. I know for a fact that this not true but did not want to "argue" as it was easy to order a cocktail instead. While the server did offer to get a manager I simply declined because again, I knew what I could drink and with someone who has an allergy, it's my job to take care of me, not the restaurant. With that being said, I also was afraid to order any food or ask what was Gluten free because I did not feel the staff was trained to tell me that answer and for it to be safe. Overall, the view is great but there are other rooftops and bars where I know I can get safe drinks and food that I will visit again before...
Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews, but this one was so frustrating I had to say something.
Went to this bar last night with a few friends. We were excited to try the place, but the bartender — I didn’t catch her name — clearly didn’t know what she was doing at all. On top of that, she spoke really bad English, which made everything twice as difficult.
We asked for three simple drinks: a gin and tonic, a margarita, and a beer. She looked confused and had to ask us to repeat everything twice. She ended up giving us a glass of tonic water with no gin, a margarita that tasted like lemon juice and salt, and a warm beer that wasn’t even the one we asked for.
When we tried to politely explain the drinks were wrong, she just smiled and said “yes yes, is good,” and walked away. It honestly felt like she was just guessing what to make. At one point I saw her pour rum into a wine glass and hand it to someone calling it a “cocktail.”
It was awkward, unprofessional, and frustrating. Communication was nearly impossible, and the drinks were a disaster. I don’t blame her entirely — clearly the management shouldn’t have someone behind the bar who isn’t properly trained or prepared.
Bottom line: Don’t come here if you’re expecting decent service or even basic communication. We ended up leaving early and going to another place...
Read moreDid a reservation on OpenTable for 530pm. Arrived 15 min. early. No host at the stand. Went to tell the bartender we had reservations. She checked the name and then proceeded to say there’s no table at the moment for outside seating, although we saw a few. and we told her that we have reservations for outside seating. So we told her we would just wait at the bar, since we are early. Then, other people came and they were seated right away. We sat there wondering why we couldn’t be seated yet when there were other tables available outside. She then changed her mind on which table she wanted to give us, while we just waited very confused as to why this was taking so long or why she was arguing with another server on where to put us. It was so uncomfortable, as if we were not there at all. They were so disorganized and it was supposed to be a date night for us. I canceled the reservation while they were still arguing in front of us. L they ruined the date night for us and we will never go back. Terrible service. It shouldn’t have been that difficult to be seated with a...
