We stayed at the Amethyst Garden Inn Bed & Breakfast while visiting Savannah, Georgia and it was amazing! #bedandbreakfast #savannah #georgia #holidays #traveltiktok

Escape the winter by heading to the southern U.S.—humid and warm weather awaits! First time visiting the coastal historic city of Savannah. Came to check out the famous bench from *Forrest Gump*, but the downtown streets here are stunning too—full of British-style old mansions. We booked a place called **Amethyst Garden** 📍 402 E Gaston St, Savannah, GA 31401 Found it on Expedia—there are several similar historic homes turned hotels in the area, but this one caught my eye with its all-purple exterior. Located in Savannah’s historic district, it’s super walkable to other spots. The biggest surprise? We were the only guests that night—basically had a whole mansion to ourselves! [🎉] Plus, there was a lovely Black woman as our housekeeper. The house was built in the 18th century, with many original details preserved. The next morning, she whipped up a simple American breakfast for us. Super chatty—she even mentioned a ghost-hunting TV show filmed here before, but they found nothing. "Don’t worry," she laughed, "I’ve worked here 13 years and never seen a thing." [😂] The place was cozy—plush beds, no creepy old-house vibes or oppressive layout. (Though I *did* Google for ghost stories before booking, just in case. [🙈]) She also shared old photos and original blueprints of the house. Highly recommend staying in one of these historic mansions if you visit Savannah—such a unique experience! I’m obsessed with these European-style old homes. #Savannah #HistoricDistrict #SouthernCharm #TravelUSA #BoutiqueHotel #ForrestGump #OldWorldElegance

My experience with Amethyst Garden was wonderful! The Ivy Room, where we stayed, as well as the rest of the house, was charmingly furnished, with an attention to detail—lovely hardwood floors & high ceilings to boot. Our room was spacious and quiet, and my fiancé was thrilled that the bed was so comfortable (so was I; he is picky!). They bathroom was large and like new with a Roman-tiled shower and glass door. Everything was spotless, and the breakfast made by Chemise was a delightful treat (snickerdoodles — yum!). Savannah proved to be a lovely, romantic city, and I would recommend Amethyst Garden for a Savannah visit.

Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill tremendously since the last review in 2015--I'm guessing it's due to new ownership.

Upon arrival at 12 noon, my best friend Teryn, her 11 year old daughter, and myself were greeted by the front desk clerk for check in. She informed us that they had assigned us a smaller room than we would probably want, and so she offered the larger room for an additional $30/night. Upon seeing the larger room, we agreed and paid for the entire weekend's stay upfront ($600+). We then proceeded to spend the next 9 hours siteseeing and touring Savannah.

At 9 pm, Teryn received a call from the front desk clerk saying the owner had come by and said that he doesn't allow 3 people in the room we checked into, and our only options were to pay for a second room (at $300/night) or pack up and go elsewhere. She apologized profusely, saying the owner wouldn't budge, but that she would refund us for the inconvenience. We could actually hear him next to her telling her what to say to us, but refused to talk with us directly. After an unsuccessful 1.5 hrs on the phone with Expedia (who we'd booked the room through) saying that because Amethyst House collected our money directly their hands were tied, we headed back to collect our things and move to another hotel.

Once there, the owner refused to refund our money saying we'd already checked in, but he would be "generous" and allow us to all stay in the room for an additional $90/night. We of course declined, instead insisting on the refund we'd been promised. Even though the front desk clerk was upfront with the owner and admitted she'd checked us all into the room earlier and then offered a refund when the owner told her that was a mistake, he still adamantly refused any solution that didn't involve him collection more money. We had to pack up at midnight with an 11 year old and go to another hotel, all the while he's still refusing to refund us our money even though we didn't stay even one night.

There are SO many beautiful places to stay in Savannah and so many wonderful people who will treat you with kindness and welcome you to this great city--don't waste your time or money on this fraudster who will scam you out of $600 and then kick you out into...

Excellent. Amazing Victorian era home impeccably appointed. Very nice location, not quite in deep historic district but close enough, but also close to mall, airport etc.||My daughter and I stayed in Hydrangea room which was perfect for us, but needs a better description than provided. Many families might be inconvenienced. The price of this room reflects its unique and problematic layout which for us was a bonus as otherwise we would have to purchase the use of two rooms whereas the price is only slightly more than for one room.||The entry is into the main bedroom, which then progresses to bathroom and then to second bedroom. There is not a full wall between the second bedroom and d the bathroom, so sounds from bathroom can be easily heard||Owners made an effort to mitigate this by enclosing the toilet with a door and shower area also has a door.||However for the person in the second bedroom to exit the suite, they have to go through the bathroom and through the Master suite. Since it was only my daughter and myself, we worked out a signaling system when we were in the bathroom. She stays put at night so not an issue for her to stay in second bedroom but if she wanted to go out at night, she would have had to knock on Master bedroom door and then travel through it to the exit.||This suite has no TV which again, works for us but might not for everyone.||The breakfast was good and always fun to share breakfast with fellow travelers, night time snacks a bit weak but Savannah is a city of treats and great food so a great breakfast is only two blocks away again if that is an issue for you. It...

The Amethyst Garden Inn is an absolute gem! The house itself is stunning—inside and out—with a timeless charm that instantly makes you feel at home. We stayed in the Hydrangea Suite, and it was perfect. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and impeccably clean. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. ||Chemise, the host, is truly the heart of this experience. She made our stay unforgettable with her warm hospitality and attention to detail. But the absolute highlight was the breakfast! Chemise is an incredible cook, serving up authentic Southern-style meals that were not only delicious but also made with so much love. Each morning was a feast that we looked forward to, and it was hands down the best part of our stay. ||The location of the house is also fantastic—everything in Savannah seemed to be within a 30-minute walk, making it so easy to explore the area. We loved trying out nearby restaurants like The Public and Clary’s, which were both excellent recommendations. ||Any bed-and-breakfast in Savannah would be fortunate to have someone like Chemise running the show. Her dedication and passion for hospitality shine through in every aspect of the experience. We can’t recommend the Amethyst Garden Inn enough—it’s a true treasure...
