Based on other reviews.. I went in knowing this was gonna be a hit or miss. Glad it was a hit! I will say.. it’s a simple sandwich for $15 though.
Food - we got the lekker spread (chicken curry), the dank sauce wings, and the conquistador sandwich. And of course the iced tea. The lekker spread.. the portions just didn’t make sense. For one spread choice it was $8, which was in a tiny togo ramekin, but then came with red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, and 2 pita breads cut up into 8 triangles. You basically pay for pita bread. It really should be a bigger container of the spread of choice and smaller portions of the pita. Or make them pita chips (not the Stacy’s kind, like actual fried pita bread chips) and a bigger portion of the dip/spread. The wings were really good! Great size wings. Perfectly cooked and I loved the dank sauce (think honey mustard dill). Glad it still came with ranch. The conquistador sandwich, I thoroughly enjoyed this sandwich. The filling was really good, the chicken was not dry at all, the sauce and lettuce & tomato was very fresh. Love the cheeses on there too. The bread was perfectly toasted. The light crispy crunch bread exterior with the still chewy soft bread interior was a perfect balance. And the bread to filling ratios were on point. My only thought is that a chicken Cesar salad on a roll for $15?! I rationalized it in my head by telling myself it’s a very large sandwich and it came with chips.
Parking - it’s the downtown area of Savannah so parking is limited. And mostly street parking. We ended up parking in a public lot and paying then walking around.
Service - everyone was extremely nice! From our server to another girl checking in on us to the person who directed me to the bathrooms. They brought plenty of napkins knowing we’d need them. Our drinks were refilled timely. Overall great customer service dining experience. It was a beautiful day so we sat on one of the outside tables under...
Read moreI'll start with the atmosphere, it was VERY loud. We actually moved tables because the speaker was so loud that the person from our party closest to it asked if we could move. But there are so many speakers that it is difficult to get away from it. Another group of people arrived shortly after us and they, too, decided to move because it was too loud by their table. It made it difficult to have a conversation. Also, it was a bit dark. I like to see my food and because of the umbrellas and the lighting, it was difficult. The service was fantastic. Arturo did an amazing job keeping up with all our requests. He was patient and good humored the entire time. Even though it seemed like we were constantly needing refills or wanted more napkins, flatware, whatever. The food was great. We love to try new things. My son got the Conquistador which he said was super tasty. It's definitely a lot of meat. My d-i-l got the curry chicken sandwich. I did have a little taste of it and the curry was not overwhelming. I had the cheese dip with chips. The chips were so crispy and the dip was creamy and warm. My husband got Gabi's salad, it might be Gabby, I'm not sure. On the menu it does not mention meat, but it does come with meat of your choice. He got chicken...and they did not skimp. Beverages: we got a mango tango, a pineapple and rum drink (I don't remember the name), and a passion fruit margarita. They did not hold back on the alcohol. Good thing we were walking. The mango tango was by far the best of those drinks. We def would return if we were back in savannah. I wish I had taken pics, but it...
Read moreOkay let me be open and honest here, the service is top not and laid back. A weird but effective combo. Mads is mad great and really needs a raise. Shes just wow.
Food: I had the Peri Peri Cheese Dip as a starter and I barely got started on them before my Slaap Chips (Old Town Indian Curry Chili) showed up. The spice level was perfect and the portion side is huge. Im staying at the #marshallhouse in the historic Savannah downtown. Ill be bringing home some balcony food to have while i have mamosas on the overlook. People watching just went from great to fantastic with leftovers from #zunzis.
Drinks: I had the Hot Rita with my Slaap Chips. Since i had the Old Town Indian Curry Chili version of the Slaap Chips, the Hot Rita was a perfectly hot pairing. From what i understand, they upgraded the tequila. To he honest, i loved the Hot ‘Rita a year and a half ago and i loved it every bit as much this time around two. I trust their judgment on the tequila selection.
Overall opinion: can i just say that there is really no reason to not come here on vacation. This is the lunch spot stop for me. 5 star review from this guy.
P.S. Seriously, give Mads a heck yea kinda raise. She’s definitely all in on Zunzi’s
