I don’t understand the reasoning behind folks that embrace being the mean bartender. I’ve been bartending for years at fine dining establishments with high volume demand and upon walking up to the bar for a drink, after three minutes of just standing in front of the guy (he was making a drink but could have at least looked up and acknowledged the people and said hey I’ll give you a menu in a sec or just something). But no, just looks down with his head away from you in total silence. My friend finally said hey how are you? To which he responds with “I just need a minute”. The rest of the encounter was short, dismissive, and unpleasant. I still tipped 25% of my bill but that certainly can’t teach a bartender to tend to a bar in an appropriate manner. We all get busy. But there’s no excuse for not making guests feel comfortable. A bartender should be able to shake a drink, while stirring another and still speak have a minimal ability to welcome guests in a way that doesn’t take them from their current work, but still makes the guest feel acknowledged and like we are wanted. I don't leave reviews. But I have been an event coordinator for years in Savannah. I have never had such unprofessional behavior in my life. I reached out to Eastern Warf to do a small day party. I was contacted back by a Caila Brown. Mrs Brown gave me the prices and all rules and regulations of the space. She wrote down the date and time on a calendar space for us. Told me she would be out of town for a couple of days and would contact me on her return. I have yet to here back for Mrs Brown. This was weeks ago. I live at the Eastern Wharf apts and we have a new Maintenance Manager-Zean. He is smart and does such an outstanding job for our community. He has changed the environment here and just appreciate his professionalism. Zean has such a great attitude and takes pride in his work.
