This is a bad set up place, there is no sign on the door saying if you sit down on the right you will be served by a server and get something to eat or if you sit down on the left side you will be ignored by all the staff. The order here sign is only for to go orders?! We walked in and where looked at by the young, blonde barista who did not even greet us. We sat at the only table available on the left side because the right side where there was servers was full. We were hungry we just had come out of the SAM and wanted good coffee and food but we got none. After a couple of minutes I walked to the counter looking for a menu a server looked at me said hi and kept doing what he was doing so I walked away with the menu. We were ready to order, again we didnt know about what side served or what you had to do to get some food and coffee. We saw the barista right behind us walked by us several times bringing coffee to the tables completely ignoring the fact we were seating right in front of her! Then one of the tables on the right side left and we were going to move there to get some food when we see the same server who had said hi to me walked by us and bring their check to the table in front of us again completely ignoring us. By now we are thinking what is going on in this place?! Are we invisible or what?! We then saw a lady and her daughter walk in. They again confused looked around for a "sit on this side to get food" sign so they sat on the same big table we were sitting. The barista immediately walked up to them carrying two coffees on her hands and told them to sit on the right side if they wanted to be served. Again she couldn't turn around and tell us about it. We stood up angry and hungry and went to the place where we know there is great coffee and great service or at least we wont be ignored at Cafe Presse. We walked out after saying a "thanks for your help" sarcastically to the helpful staff and left to never come back. I hope the owners read this, its not fair to be absolutely ignored by the whole staff its rude and it makes people fell uncomfortable. We hope this never happens again to other customers its annoying and ruins your day. We wont come back there are more places out there that really care for their customers and serve great food as well we wont waste our time again coming back to this place just to be treated the same way. We are not picky people we are all laid back but this "ignoring" attitude is unacceptable it only takes a minute to turn around and greet and explain how the restaurant works. We didnt even get to try the food or coffee. Its a pretty place and we felt it was a good option to try but we ended up driving 10 min to...
Read morePurchased a quite ordinary sandwich, which on the menu board was $13.40, but was rung up as $18. I know that the price of eating out and food is quite high in Seattle these days, but this seemed fairly outrageous, the price being 50% higher than what was stated. When I pointed out to the young man operating the store The discrepancy in price, he offered neither to honor the stated price, nor did he provide at an at all satisfying answer. This kind of bait and switch is an illegal practice. He was a young worker, but quite cocky in his nonchalance about this practice. I pointed out that this was illegal and that he should tell his managers immediately about the difference in stated price and what was being charged at the register. I heard a number of different excuses, but none of them acknowledging the unfairness of the situation, not any indication that he would take my request seriously. I have worked in the neighborhood and been a frequent customer over the last decade, and I am quite surprised that this was the case. In general, I have found Fonte to be an excellent place to get food: clean, efficient, and on the higher end of food and coffee quality. I am disappointed that the attitude of this employee was as dismissive and ignorant of the way the store was coming across. Lame excuses about who sets the prices or about the unchangeability of the sign aren’t satisfying answers. Frankly, I don’t believe that they can’t change the process on their fancy graphic menu board. He suggested that the price had “Been there since 2014”, as though that was supposed to be comforting for a 50% increase in price that I might have just swiped through if I weren’t paying attention. If I hadn’t been hungry and in a rush I’d have totally refused to pay. Not good customer...
Read moreWhen you think of coffee, you think of Starbucks, right? Yeah... Me too. But I swear it's MUCH MORE than that at Fonté Coffee Roaster. I heard that it was a good breakfast/brunch place, but I wasn’t sure about it because of the "coffee" name so typically I don’t associate coffee with food. But i figured let's see what Seattle has to offer!
I’ve heard good things so I walked a few blocks down by Pike Place market. This is a pretty intimate place, everything is kind of close quarters, you can end up sitting very close to strangers. The design in here is pretty nice as well, a lot of wood, a lot of off-white color with concrete laminated flooring, if that’s even a thing??
I was eyeing the pastries in the glass case when I ordered my food. It took everything I had not to get it, I’m still somewhat trying to stay on my diet here guys!
I went ahead and ordered Eggs Benedict because I heard that’s their popular menu item. Awww snap! The food came out and the potatoes looked hella good, and seasoned to perfection! The eggs benedict looks like it's painted on, with sexy ham and crispy bacon that I added to it (It doesn't normally come on it). My side salad was cool too, definitely brought it all together. I'm not quite sure what dressing they used, but it tastes like a lemon vinaigrette.
Oh my gosh guys that first bite was pretty freaking amazing. The Eggs Benedict sauce was not too salty but salty enough the way I like it. I’ve never really had eggs Benedict before. Especially on an English muffin but the texture of it is fire! I will most likely order this again the next time i'm in...
