I came here for work, so the location was less relevant. But it is easy to walk to a supermarket, the waterfront for a nice long walk, as well as several restaurants, including vegan options like Kati Vegan Thai and Plantiful which I appreciated.
Above all, the service was excellent. Sandra at the reception was very friendly and made it possible for me to check in a bit earlier, since I arrived in the morning. This was the first time I stayed with Ändra and I received a welcome note and Swedish fish which was a nice touch. The doormen on shift (I didn't catch their names) were also very friendly and helped me store my luggage twice until check-in. I asked for a water kettle for my room and received one promptly.
The room was nice and more stylish than in most American chain hotels I have stayed at (like Marriott, Hyatt). The sitting area was nice to have breakfast and dinners in the room. I appreciated the bathrobe in the room. I especially appreciated having a Nespresso machine to make proper espresso and cafe creme instead of the usual coffee makers that just produce a sad tea-like liquid. I also liked that instead of the usual paper or even plastic cups, the room had real ceramic mugs and glasses for me to use. Nicer and more environmentally friendly. The blackout curtains worked well to make the room dark for sleeping.
Having room cleaning on demand was fine. However, I would appreciate if I could have my room cleaned without having all towels replaced to save resources. My towels were fine and I didn't put them on the floor, but the cleaners still replaced all used towels. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion are offered in big containers fixed at the wall which is great to avoid plastic waste. But I noticed that the bottles said "not refillable" and wondered if that meant that they would still get discarded after one use, which would still cause a lot a of plastic waste. Upon inquiry, the hotel said that they partner with Clean the World who collect their bathroom bottles and process them for use in other parts of the world. That seems like a strange solution and close to waste colonialism. Why not clean the bottles at your hotel and reuse them there? The carbon footprint of shipping them off (likely to the Global South) is huge. The hotel could just donate cash to organizations there instead.
What I didn't like about the room: The bed was too soft for me. It's obviously a preference, but I did not sleep well. Maybe the solution for hotels here is to offer rooms with softer and harder mattresses? Hotel rooms really shouldn't have carpet floors anymore. They can never be cleaned as well as hardwood, laminate, or tile and are really bad for people with dust allergies. Given that some people don't take off their outdoor shoes in hotel rooms, it feels gross to walk barefoot on the carpet. The hairdryer in the room was missing the nozzle so that I easily burned some of my hair when using it. It also didn't work very well, taking forever to dry my hair. I called the desk and told them about the problem and they eventually brought me another hairdryer, but that one was also missing the nozzle. I've made this experience in other hotels and it might be a remnant of a time when mostly men stayed at such hotels for work, but in 2024 having a functioning hairdryer in a hotel people mostly use for work should be standard. The fridge is full of minibar items, so it is difficult to use it for leftover food or breakfast items (I always bring my cereal and buy plantmilk to be healthy on trips). I wasn't sure if I get charged if I take out items, so I carefully re-arranged them to make place for my food. The biggest issues happened early in the morning the day I left: It was raining outside and I noticed water dripping into the room from the air conditioning vent. It formed a stain and then a puddle on the carpet. Since I was in a rush and about to check out, I mentioned this only when I checked out, so I don't know how quickly it got fixed. But it suggests a structural issue that is a...

Okay, let me just say: Hotel Andra is next level. From the moment you step into the lobby, you’re hit with this stylish, contemporary vibe that’s both chic and cozy. It’s like they’ve taken everything you love about modern design and turned it into a relaxing, welcoming space. Warm tones, plush seating, art that makes you feel fancy, and lighting that says “come hang out”—it’s the perfect place for unwinding or socializing.
They have a convenient bell trolley for your bags. We packed up everything on one cart, and still had room to spare, which made transporting our belongings a breeze. As we walked down the hallways toward our room, I couldn’t help but admire the clean, neutral tones and polished aesthetic that added to the luxurious feel of the property.
Once we reached our room, the modern, Scandinavian-inspired elegance was even more evident. The spacious room featured warm, neutral tones with a mix of luxurious textures that made it feel both comfortable and sophisticated. The plush bedding, sleek furniture, and carefully chosen artwork added a personal touch to the space. Now, I know some people might find the lower height of the bed a bit quirky, but it totally fit the modern vibe of the room.
And the vanity area? Genius! You know the struggle of getting ready while fighting for space at the bathroom counter—this one was all set up for comfort and convenience. And did I mention how the bathroom had this pop of blue that contrasted perfectly with the warm tones of the room? Total eye candy. It was stylish, fun, and gave the space a little extra spark. It felt like they thought of everything—down to the chocolates and a little bottle of wine waiting for us. Seriously?!
Let’s talk about the little touches that made all the difference. There was a pre-bagged ice tucked away in a drawer fridge in the hallway. It’s super convenient and perfect for those late-night snack and drink cravings. And when we returned to our room after a long day, We were welcomed by extra blankets, pillows, and that dim, cozy lighting that’s just so perfect for unwinding. They really know how to make a guest feel pampered.
While the restaurant experience didn’t quite live up to the high standards of the rest of my stay, with a bit of a delay in service. We did have to wait without anyone acknowledging us, which was kind of a bummer. But, honestly, it didn’t take away from the awesomeness of everything else. The mimosas were a good way to keep the mood light, and we made it work!
While I would have loved an indoor pool, the small fitness center was a decent alternative for anyone looking to get a workout in without leaving the building. But seriously, if they added a pool, it would be the ultimate game-changer.
All in all, this stay was nothing short of fantastic. Hotel Andra has mastered the art of combining luxury with comfort, and their attention to detail is next-level. The design, the thoughtful touches, and the overall atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, stylish, and comfortable stay in the...
