Looking for a place to punch out your stress and discover your true potential?
RowdyBox in Seattle is the perfect destination for those seeking a dynamic and empowering workout experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was immediately captivated by the positive energy and vibrant atmosphere. The music pulsated with an electric beat, setting the stage for an unforgettable session.
I was introduced to RowdyBox by my Barre instructor, Amber Maurer, who highly recommended it. As soon as I attended my first class led by Jenny Wyeth, I understood why RowdyBox had such a fantastic reputation. Jenny was not only fit as a fiddle, but her passion and enthusiasm for boxing were palpable. She created an environment that was both physically and mentally empowering, allowing me to tap into my inner strength.
Learning how to hit the bag was a transformative experience. It challenged me to push my limits and discover new levels of power within myself. As I threw punches, I found a cathartic release, punching out not only physical tension but also emotional stress. RowdyBox provided a safe and supportive space to work through issues I didn't even know I had.
What truly impressed me about RowdyBox was the emphasis on self-improvement. It's not about competing with others; it's about challenging yourself and becoming the best version of you. The instructors fostered a sense of camaraderie among participants, creating a community where everyone supports and motivates one another. Whether you're a seasoned boxer or a beginner like me, you'll feel encouraged to take on new challenges and achieve personal growth.

Read moreSome background first - been active my whole life (played a bunch of sports growing up, did club and travel sports, etc.), but have never found a cardio workout that I enjoyed. I've done the whole half-marathon thing multiple times but always had to force myself to do cardio. Never thought I'd enjoy it, until RowdyBox came along!
I seriously love RowdyBox, it's the workout I never knew I needed. It's not only a kickass workout that pushes your limits, but it's incredibly fun. High-energy, positive and motivating instructors, super cool vibe in the room with the special lights, bangin' beats...what more can you ask for? Classes are under an hour but time completely flies by because of the atmosphere that Sami, Brandon, and the entire team have created. Finally found a cardio workout that I actually look forward to! Classes are generally 50% boxing and 50% strength work on the floor/bench; they also offer a class type that is boxing for all of the rounds. The coaches offer lots of tips that help your form to become a better boxer (footwork, punches, defensive moves, etc.). Plus, the punching combinations taught in class change often, so you're always being challenged by working on something new. Everyone really tries to get to know you by name and as a person - it's a very special & welcoming community for sure.
It's also a practical place to workout, too. They have a beautiful facility with showers (with amazing shampoo and conditioner included, btw), blow dryers, towels, etc., which is super convenient. There's free WiFi - I've definitely emailed on my work laptop before and after a class, lol. Water refill stations, hair ties, lockers for your stuff, towels offered for wiping off your sweat during class, etc. Even though it is downtown, parking has never been an issue for me. Pro tip: on weekends and after 4pm on weekdays, Amazon offers free parking (closest is Doppler). For you early birds, street parking is free before 8am. RowdyBox also offers a discounted parking rate at a nearby lot.
At least give this place a shot, you won't...

(1) something new I learned about myself since joining Rowdy: sometimes after a long stressful day at work (and sitting in a chair all day), all I really want to do is hit something. turns out Rowdy is the BEST STRESS RELIEF I have ever met. When I go to their class, I can turn my brain off and just focus on myself and on the bag ... every class is incredible, and I come out of each feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the next challenge!
(2) good option if you want a fitness class that you can do with your partner. My wife and I frequently will come together, which makes the classes even more fun.
(3) the instructors are AMAZING. Sami might be the best fitness instructor I have ever had... she and all of the other instructors have such good energy. this is one of the gyms where they make an effort to learn everyone's name; helps to build a bit of community at this gym and makes for an inclusive environment! Angela is also awesome at this gym, when we first visited she showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed even though it was on a Saturday and it was busy.
Lastly, I noticed some of the reviews mention that it's not 'real' boxing because they don't have a ring and you don't spar. Honestly I don't care, because the classes DO focus on good boxing form (plus you can practice w/ mitts during 1 on 1 training), AND it means their facility doesn't smell gross and sweaty, so it's generally quite pleasant to be there. (lots of towels, nice locker room area with showers, etc.). Just think of it like a Barry's class... but WAY BETTER because it's boxing and...
