Exceptional Stay at The Sound Hotel – A Must for Business and Leisure Travelers!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Sound Hotel while visiting Seattle as this is a preferred place for Facebook employees and I can’t recommend this place enough. After a long day of travel, arriving around midnight, I was exhausted and just needed to check in quickly and rest, especially with the two-hour time difference. It was 2 AM my time, midnight in Seattle, and I was so grateful for the smooth, prompt service upon arrival. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient, even at that late hour. I’ve been to many hotels where you have to track down staff after hours, but not here. The Sound Hotel’s hospitality truly stands out.
Why you should stay here:
Prime Location If you’re in Seattle for business—whether you’re with Facebook, Amazon, or Microsoft—this hotel is perfect. It’s within walking distance of the major offices and boasts incredible views of the city. And if you’re looking for excellent restaurants and brunch spots nearby, you won’t be disappointed. The options are fantastic! Beautiful, Spacious Rooms The rooms are outstanding. I stayed in a king room, and it was far from the cramped spaces you often get elsewhere. The room was modern, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. I loved how they incorporated the “Sound” theme throughout, with musical elements that made the space feel unique and inspiring. My only regret was not taking more pictures! Stunning Rooftop Views One of my favorite parts of the stay was the seventh-floor rooftop. The view of the Space Needle was breathtaking! Standing up there, I felt like I was on top of the world—such an exhilarating experience. Convenient for Walking and Ubering I didn’t need a car during my stay. The convenience of walking or using Uber made everything so easy. If your office or destination is close by, I recommend skipping the rental car. Walking through the city felt safe, and The Sound Hotel’s central location makes it even more ideal for business professionals and families alike. Top-Notch Security As a frequent traveler, especially for business, safety is a priority for me. The hotel has keycard access for getting to the rooms, which may seem like a small detail, but it provides peace of mind. Traveling alone for work, it’s reassuring to know that The Sound Hotel takes security seriously. My husband, who was over 1,800 miles away, also appreciated knowing I was in a safe, secure place.
Whether you’re a business professional or visiting Seattle for leisure, The Sound Hotel is a top choice. The newness of the hotel, combined with its exceptional service and safety features, makes it a unique experience. From the beautiful rooms to the welcoming staff and incredible views, I genuinely enjoyed every part of my stay.

Read moreI needed to get away from the DC summer humidity and decided to visit Seattle since I have never been there and searched through mostly hilton and marriott properties. There were two things about Sound Hotel that caught my attention right away - the price point looked to be a great value for the overall experience and this was one of the very properties that had a rare 5.0 star rating on tripadvisor (since they are the "yelp" for hotel ratings). This property did not disappoint! As with many downtown Seattle hotels, I loved that you can walk to just about everywhere in downtown Seattle.
Since Sound is one of hilton's Tapestry collections, I had higher expectations for this property and was pretty impressed with their room layout. It was not exactly the most spacious room for a king bed, but the layout made me feel like I had adequate space throughout my 10-night stay. I also appreciated how the front desk let me request housekeeping as needed and did not give me any type of "limitation" hints (they recognized both the length of my stay and my hhonors gold level status). Speaking of the front desk, their host staff was amazing and perhaps one of the most professional, friendly and attentive team I had encountered at hotels I have been to (both hilton and non-hilton properties).
Even their housekeeping team were rockstars, especially when I requested specific items throughout my stay. One of the highlights of their rooms is their cabinet that has a rollout tray with a keurig coffee machine, which is right on top of the refrigerator (another example of how they utilized space so well). I also loved that the shower door goes both in and out - I always pushed the door in after showering to let the water dry off on to the shower staff floor, and not on the bathroom floor. Their fitness center is on the 4th floor and they do not tell their guests that the fitness center that is part of their 7th floor balcony actually belongs to the upscale apartment complex next door, Arrive. I bent the rules a little bit with some of the other hotel guests and used that 7th floor gym as it is a lot wider with more equipments and a separate yoga/stretching studio (photo attached).
I will gladly stay at this property anytime I return to Seattle and highly recommend this for others looking at high quality 3-star hotels in downtown Seattle. Keep up the great work,...
Read moreA fantastic modern hotel in Belltown has done a great job with the details, runs a (mostly) tight ship, and is a gem in its price range. If you're looking for a clean and comfortable hotel, this one exceeds expectations. The location could be better, but it's not bad. More on this later.
The rooms are great, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom and shower well-appointed. Just about everything in these rooms is well thought through, and if you stay in a lot of hotels, you will notice the attention to detail. The hard floors with rugs are a nice and uncommon touch. The room itself is lit with lamps, but the wardrobe (no closet) has no lighting, which can make it challenging to see clothing and drawers. The blackout drapes work perfectly, and there are adjustable reading lights over each bed.
The staff was excellent, friendly, attentive, etc. Housekeeping did a great job with the rooms, except for refilling the coffee and creamers. They weren't refilled when we arrived, and they never got it right. It was a minor ongoing annoyance (the only one).
This isn't comparable to a luxury hotel, such as The Fairmont, but at this price point, it is hard to beat the quality.
The fitness room is relatively small, featuring three treadmills, a machine of another type, weights, and towels. However, people were using it, so..
The King County Public Health Center, which is next door, collects a lot of open-air drug use and homelessness on the intersecting street, Blanchard. Downtown Seattle has a good amount of open-air drug use, people defecating on the roads, etc., but it does seem to be mostly safe. I would compare it to midtown San Francisco, similar to the Moscone Center area. If you're there for any period, you will see someone injecting drugs or smoking crack; we saw both several times.
Although it's located in Belltown, the waterfront is easily accessible; in fact, almost everything in the downtown area is within walking distance or a short ride on a Lime scooter.
Overall, this is a gem of a hotel; it's well-managed, well-appointed, and reasonably priced. I don't usually stay at Hilton-operated hotels, but this one stands out compared to other choices in...
