The Moore was a historic and beautiful hotel yet overpriced for no AC in the rooms and open vagrancy, drugs, and sex workers easily seen across the street in the middle of the day in broad daylight. The rooms were very roomy, and they tried to help with the heat of no AC in July with a box fan and small fan, but it was still hard to sleep at night and just not what you should have to deal with really at that price point per night. The worst part was the parking lot across the street where there were drugged-out zombies and a lady performing some services for a couple fellows there. You could say oh they're prob just having a chat... well you can clearly see one guy pulling his pants back up and the other pulling his down. One day on the ally just to the right of the hotel we passed a lady selling something to another guy in broad daylight again with a full roll of heavy-duty aluminum foil hanging out of her purse. Maybe she was just showing him some aluminum foil origami??? Really didn't feel like it was a safe spot even in daylight. In defense of the hotel though...if you ever been to Seattle, you know every street you go down you can easily see all of this kind of vagrancy, smell of urine and/or garbage, trash blowing around, and drugged out zombies. That being said The Moore Hotel may not be that bad considering the stuff you encounter on the streets around it, you be the judge. The reviews on here saying they felt safe around the hotel or near the market must have been in the twilight zone!!! We were only in town for 3 days and I saw some pretty shady stuff everyday multiple times a day! You can't walk 50ft without seeing a zombie or go to a park without hearing someone literally screaming at the top of their lungs. Annnd the week after we left I saw on the news two people were shooting at each other on the board walk right by the Starbucks one was a veteran in a wheelchair look it up. Seattle was pretty bad, reminded me of Memphis so that says a lot.

Home of the smallest elevator in the history of mankind. There is constantly a bottleneck downstairs going up. Zero environmental controls in room. Lots of construction inside and out which is super annoying. Second shift lady at the desk had the nerve to grill me and my daughter about if we were staying there when I asked her if my daughter could use the restroom downstairs. Third shift man at the desk refused to open the gate blocking access to the stairway so I had to use the impossibly small elevator instead late Friday night on 6-7-19. Room was clean and coffee shop downstairs was yummy. The 'edgy' way that the room was decorated was not innovative or interesting. The beds were hard and worn out and uncomfortable. The feathers in the pillows were poking my face through the pillow case. The shower temperature was all over the place and your were constantly in danger of getting scalded to death or freezing to death. Myself and my family will absolutely never stay here again.

So happy with our stay. I was a little concerned that the deal was too good to be true for this location but we had a great experience. My two biggest things when looking for hotels is cleanliness and safety and this place checked both boxes. We were here mid June and lucked out with mild weather. No A/C in some hot weather could be rough but we were comfortable with a cracked window and a fan. Room was clean and quaint, staff was great, and the bed was comfortable. We took the light rail from the airport which was a 40 min ride to Westlake station and a 5 minute walk to the hotel. I was worried about the homeless population which was definitely around but none of them setting up shop near the hotel. They do a good job of monitoring who goes in and out of the hotel. I would absolutely stay here again (maybe not in the heat of summer) and would highly recommend.

Really nice hotel in a beautiful heritage building. We stayed in a suite on the 7th (top) floor. Unfortunately, we were informed that none of the pet-friendly kitchenette suites have any view to speak of. However, I later saw a door open to one of the other 7th floor suites facing the street which was amazing. Maybe not a pet friendly suite? No idea why because it looked very similar to ours & was empty. Would've preferred that room as we spent 4 days/nights staring into other windows & the back roof of the attached theater, I believe it was, and there seemed to be very few people on our floor. There were also a hell of a lot bright lights shining in our windows at night, which meant we couldn't open curtains at night to allow morning light in. That was disappointing.

The hotel staff during check-in & our stay were very nice, incredibly helpful, just really great. Tried to eat in the attached cafe & restaurant but they seem to be ironing out some kinks with the kitchen staff, which prevented me from getting a meal after my order being put through twice or 3 times (although their menu looked really good), as well as prevented me from purchasing a bottle of water. Their communication/customer service on that front must improve. It was very disappointing as it would've been nice to eat-in some nights when we were exhausted from exploring the city, rather than walking 20 blocks to a place that looked good. We never did end up eating anything there due to this issue.

It's a beautiful heritage building however, & very close to the market. Love the architecture of this place. Our suite was large with separate eating/kitchen & sleeping areas, old plaster walls/fixtures etc (like my grandmother's house), big beautiful functioning radiator in the bedroom, large clawfoot tub in the bathroom (which was quite spacious) along with other modern fixtures (PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST, INSTALL SOME TOWEL RACKS ON THE BARE BATHROOM WALLS & A CUPBOARD ON THE WALL OR UNDER THE SINK), 4 windows throughout the suite.

Gotta say, though, that the long-lost curly pubes in the tub weren't at all appreciated. They gotta improve their bathroom cleaning, for sure. I scrubbed that bugger myself before getting in because I'm not going to be soaking in some stranger's short & curlies. Kick-ass water pressure & water heater. Had the best bath after 8 hours solid walking around the city. The kitchen cupboards desperately needed handles. Like SERIOUSLY. Grabbing the rubbish cupboard's bottom to pull it open & then grabbing a glass or plate was just gross. Had to wash my hands every time. The fridge is also poorly placed. But still, a very good size with microwave, tea/coffee/cooktop. Kept us happy.

Being a heritage building, it did have a couple creepy hallways which skeezed both of us out some nights (and I found an unlocked door leading to the outside fire escape, which very much concerned me), so we made sure to keep well locked up when in the room. But my husband said other floors were much more modern, tiled floors, less creepy to him.

The other half wasn't such a fan of this hotel, although he won't tell me why yet. Which usually means ghost stories LOL Personally, I'd return. I thought it was beautiful & staffed by people who are quite nice. But I'd want that beautiful corner room on the 7th floor...

The rooms were nice. The customer service however was appalling. Two ladies behind the counter got into a verbal altercation in front of customers. When we would leave our keys at the desk to go out on excursions, in case we were separated and came back on our own, one lady, (dark hair) dangled the room key in front of one of our member's face and asked, "what was the magic word?"....seriously? We are not rude people. Another time, myself and my roommate came into the lobby at 4 p.m. on our second day to wait on our group for dinner, we were nearly kicked out of the lobby because the SAME LADY thought we were not guests. I promptly reminded her she was the one to check us in. I have multiple tattoos and I am pretty distinguishable. When the elevator broke down, no sign was put up to show the service elevator was open for use. Most of our group stayed on the 7th floor. I showed an elderly couple the service elevator because, again, the same lady told them they had to climb 6 flights of stairs. Even the housekeeping is ridiculous! You have the option to "leave your towels on the floor which means please wash this...if it's hung up, you will use it again" This is to conserve water as this green hotel boasts about...each time, they wash everything. Why boast about being green if you don't follow through. Also, as an info systems tech, when the wifi went down on our floor, I asked the front desk to please reset it, 5 minutes of their time. I was told that they did not have the time nor people to fix the issue. "In fact this router has never worked..." When I politely said I connected to it the previous night, I was called a liar and I needed to come to the lobby to connect. Then she hung up on me. Easy fix; I reset it myself...Currently I am connected to the "forever broken router". Some of our group needed tickets printed for a soccer match. Same dark-haired lady would not print from a USB Flash drive but would from an email "because you can get a virus...it's like having sex and getting A.I.D.S." That's a direct quote. Completely unprofessional. They need to be educated in the ways of computers because that's the most ridiculous thing I have EVER heard from someone's mouth. There is one guy on the afternoon/night shift that is an absolute sweetheart. I feel sorry for this guy to work with such rude people. I recommend this place if you want a close place to the market but don't care if you are disrespected or mind...

We stayed at the Moore Hotel for 4 days from 15 May 2015, there is only two things going for this hotel, the location and the price. When arrived at reception to leave our luggage as we had come off a cruise ship as we knew it was too early to check in. The young clerk that served us advised us that we may be able to book in at about 1.30 pm. We went off for about four hours and came back asked the same clerk if the room was ready he told us it was not, so we were very tired and decided to sit in the reception area , the older woman at reception advised us that we better go for another walk as the room would not be ready till 4.00 p.m. We advised her that we were tired and would sit in reception. There was three couples came in in the next 1 hr and were booked in immediately. My husband enquired as to why they could book in straight away, we were told that the suites are cleaned later. Not very good customer relation we had paid more for a suite and was treated with disdain The young clerk and the older woman lacked in customer relations.

On our third day we went out at 11.00 a.m. came back at 5.00 pm , room was not cleaned. We went to reception and was given a story that 100 guests had check out and 100 had checked in. Did they not know that in advance and should have put on more staff. We asked him what he was was going to do about the situation, the advised us there was no cleaners left in the hotel . We asked him about the rubbish and clean towels he told us to dispose of the rubbish somewhere in the hotel and to slip by later and get clean towels. We left the rubbish outside our room and went to reception to get new towels. He then advised us that the do not disturd sign was left on that why the room never got cleaned, this was not true, we advised him of that.

Nest day at 10.00 am with the do not disturb sign on there was a knock on the door with the cleaner wanted to do the room, we told her to come back in 1 hr.

We went to reception advised the older that the do not disturd sign was on the door and that housekeeping wanted to do the room. She then advised us that the room would probably not be done today. We questioned her and advised us if they have knock once and could not do the room the policy is that the houskeeping would not return. We have been travelling since January this year,, through Asia , Europe and America we never have experienced the sheer rudeness and indifference from...
