The Fried Squid we ordered was "too fried" and salty. At first it tasted okay but I guess the salt settled at the bottom. Squid shouldn't really be too fried or else it becomes too chewy. They did remove the fried squid from our bill so that was good. The other things we ordered was pretty good and the ambiance was great. The server was really attentive at first but I guess she got busy. Price is fair, food matches the price except for our bad experience on the fried squid. Parking is plenty but paid.

We attended a private event hosted at the Hot Stove society and had a wonderful time! Tom was there and was friendly and welcoming to every person. All of the chefs/teachers were enthusiastic and informative. The bartenders went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of the whole time. The whole experience was fun, personalized, and interesting. I would absolutely recommend taking a class here / hosting a private event here for anyone!

Had a great first class with the Hot Stove Society. Everyone seemed to have a good time and learned some things along the way. This hands-on class was programmed for pairs to team up together. So, unless you want a complete stranger handling the food you eat, best to sign up with a relative or close friend. Perhaps not all classes are formatted this way. Look forward to taking more in the future.

We had a fun evening at Hot Stove. We attend a "demo" of BBQ cooking and a most entertaining meal.

Hot Stove is located in the mezzanine of the Hotel Andra. The facility includes a large teaching kitchen with tables for about 30 students flanking the cooking area. Large video monitors showed the "Food Channel" overhead view of the workspace.

Our class was taught by Bradley Layfield and Chris Schwarz assisted by two sous chefs. Using prepared trays of ingredients, they prepared a rub, four BBQ sauces, BBQ Pork Ribs, BBQ Pork Shoulder, baked beans, cole slaw, Brunswick Stew (delightful!), and caramel cake. As they cooked, an assistant delivered tastes (or a portion) of each concoction to each student.

It was delicious. But more than that, it was a lot of fun. At the heart of it, these folks just like each other and enjoy making great food together. It made for a...

That was such a cool experience! My company did our holiday party here. They have a "team building" option where the whole group makes several dishes and then everyone eats what we cooked together. I really enjoyed it! The whole staff was amazing. I wish I could call them all out here, but the only name I remember is Jim since he was helping my group. He did a great job of teaching, getting things done, making it fun and not making it seem stressful at all (kitchens can certainly be stressful at times). Thank you so much for the...
