Harmony House Homestay — Hotel in Sedona

Beautiful House?? This house is not available for reservations. Supposedly it had a BAD water leak. Seven of us found that out the hard way, when we arrived to take possession of our accommodations. We were 900 miles from home with no place to stay, and a wedding scheduled for the following day. They said they could find us another place but it would cost several hundred dollars more than what we had originally paid. And beware of the lies that you will be told if you dare to lease from them for a couple of days. This is some kind of a scam or very bad management. When we arrived, we called to schedule a time to do the walk through before moving our belongings in, and was told it had a bad water leak and was unavailable. We then drove by the place and someone is currently living there, it appeared they had been there for some time and weren't planning on leaving anytime soon. There was a camper trailer parked in the drive and it had been there for some time. And three vehicles there also. They lied to us, and had already received the full dollar amount of the reservation over a month before our arrival date. Then told us they had credited it back to our credit card, which they had not done at that time. The home does not look like a beautiful home from the outside. Look it up on google, you can get a picture and details by putting in the 605 Harmony Dr., Sedona, AZ address, it says 4 bedroom one bath home. Our reservation receipt said it was a 4 bedroom, 4 bath and one toilet home. It is not as it was listed for sure. Hope they have not scammed to many people. Beware of the company for sure. You may get there and not have a place to stay, and they certainly won't call to let you know ahead of time or provide another place for you to stay. We only found out when we called to schedule a time to meet them at the house. We were there and ready to rest after a very long trip, but had no place to stay. What a farce this is. Then they wanted to find us another place for twice the price we had already paid for the two day stay @ our expense not theirs. I think they should have provided a place for us. And the fact that they never even called to let us know that they weren't going to have a place for us until we were there and needing to rest.||We will never use them again or Booking.com either.||BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS.||Verna Garcia||Garden...

Harmony house AKA.. Harmony Hell Hole

Originally this was posted on booking.com but now it’s been blocked saying “This review is hidden because it doesn't meet our guidelines.” I am hoping Google won’t allow them to remove this as anyone considering this should BEWARE!!

My stay was at the end of January for 4 nights. It was the worst experience I’ve had with booking or any air b&b.

We arrived with instructions to enter the premises using a key left in a slipper outside. Further instructions indicated to use the same slippers inside. Upon entering, the floor was filthy, the smell was awful, dishes were left out and dirty, and most importantly basic things like the toilet flushing was not working and the sink drain was overflowing.

Upon contacting the host, another woman appeared and entered the house, which I later found out to be Sylwia Jones. She tried to fix the toilet and then provided a flashlight saying we could use a toilet outside, however the toilet inside was still inoperable and because I did not pay to camp I was not going to go outside with a flashlight in the middle of the night. After Sylwia left and the toilet was still not functional, I demanded some sort of refund. Sylwia re-entered the house and was knocking on our inside bedroom door. It was after 9pm. As if she was a Slavic military officer, she demanded a copy of my ID, stated “they” felt unsafe with me there and if I wasn’t gone in 15 minutes the cops would be called. I demanded to see her ID prior to giving her mine and she eventually did, which I was able to get a photo of. She continued to tell us to leave. But because I have a background in law enforcement, I called the cops myself. An officer came and was as if they had already met before. We showed the officer the toilet and long story short, the officer escorted Sylwia out. After the cop left, Sylwia came back in looking for some piece of paper she said - and then she left for the reminder of the night. We left the next morning but they fraudulently charged my card after all of that. I’ve since had to dispute all of their charges with my credit card company and that process is ongoing. This place is anything other than harmonious. It’s truly a nightmare that so happens to be situated on Harmony Drive. A true dive. A true hell hole that’s really really atrocious and not even in working...

The smell was the first issue on our arrival. Garlic and stale beef was permiating the walls, bedding, and the air. The tiny room still had cleaning products on the bed stand and the patio view was of a blue tarp on some make shift zen dome placed in a rundown backyard. Bathroom outside the small room was less than adequate maybe because the whole building was rundown. Removing our shoes was another issue as it might have been cleaner outside. Our host was about as friendly as a prison guard and we were newly arriving inmates. Shocked as we were with our first impression, we took the key and left as there was no real parking and it was our tea hour. I couldn't imagine having our tea in that little patio with one stuffed chair provided outside and the blue tarp view, well we didn't have enough Chi tea to make it a pleasant experience. BEWARE people, the photos are pretty good but they don't tell the whole story. As miracles can sometimes happen for us, at about 7pm we found another accommodation in a packed Sadona where everything was booked. I called the woman hostess at about 7pm to inform her that we would not be back except to return the key the next morning. Of course we wanted a full refund for the deceptive web advertising in the amount of $326.00 for 2 nights, which she debited from our account the instant we booked a month ago. We know why they are claiming that there were no refunds. Don't be fooled. She claims that she will refund half of the second night for us. So far that remains to be seen. She just made $326.00 for nothing. I should have checked the reviews and, hopefully it'll save you some major aggrevation as well as the aggravation of paying a lot of money for absolutely nothing. Update: Now seven days later Kathy, the host informed us that she will not refund a any portion of the $326.00 we paid for the 2 nights. She is keeping the taxes, maid service and rent.
