If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have previously used Optimum at my old residence in the VOC, and decided to continue using them when I moved to West Sedona. I purchased and received their modem for self-set up, and it did not work. I was able to request a technician visit, and when they came they told me my house did not have the proper wiring from the telephone poles, so the only service i’d be able to have at my home is satellite (Starlink, Hughesnest, etc). At that time, the two techs told me to take my modem back to the store in west sedona, and that Optimum would credit my account for purchasing the modem, and all other related charges they charged me and I paid for. After dropping my modem off at the store, I continued to get calls from Optimum asking me to pay my bill, and that they were going to cut off my service. What service! I went into the store two days later and spoke to the wonderful 89a Manager (the staff in person are fantastic), who submitted a claim ticket on my behalf. He told me someone would call me in the next week, which never happened. I plan on following up with the in-person store employees to escalate this upwards, but Optimum sucks. We use them at my job (of which we have over 20 apartments using optimum), and that will soon change. It’s really unfortunate. You guys have great in-person customer service, but the minute you have to call them or have an issue like mine, it does not get resolved. It doesn’t have to be this way, and you’d be able to increase customer...
Read moreEdit 3/26/24: The internet has seemed considerably more reliable in the last month or so. Almost no outages at all. Sadly, the speed is still the same... hoping they offer a much quicker speed in the next year or so as only having a max speed of 150 mbps is pretty terrible in 2024. Overall though I am much happier now then I was when I originally posted my review. Bumped up to 3 stars from a 1 star. Here's hoping things continue to get better!
I would also like to add that Gabriel came over a few times when I was having consistent outages and he is a great tech. Very knowledgeable and transparent and a personable guy all around.
Original post: Horrendous service in the Camp Verde area. Constantly dropping packets and receiving "request timed out" message when pinging Google's servers. Call in and their "automated system" states there is an outage in the area and they expect to have it resolved at 12AM. Says this every single time. Multiple techs have come and replaced wires and drops and blah blah blah, doesn't fix anything. The issue is much larger then the wires going into my house. If you work from home try every other ISP before Optimum and pray they are better then...
Read moreOh my God, this man was so wonderful and so competent, so very very competent! I had no printer connected, my Amazon Fire TV wasn’t connected properly when I bought it months ago because I had an old Suddenlink Wi-Fi and TV channel box, and he fixed everything so amazingly wonderfully. I have spent hours, probably 7-8 hours or more… on the phone with the Amazon Fire TV people and the printer people, trying to get those things fixed. Then we had two outages, and I was really struggling with my Wi-Fi, so I talked to someone at Optimum, who tried some things to adjust them because I was getting a message that my Wi-Fi had low security, they made some adjustments, and then I lost my printer connection, etc. And he fixed it all in this one visit!!!! I have never had such great service and I am so thrilled. He installed a new Wi-Fi and new TV cable box Because mine were so old, and now I have stations that I didn’t even know I had. And, I can get my normal cable TV stations, which I wasn’t able to get before either . What an amazingly kind, gentle and talented man and I am so glad that he was the one who came to help me today. Thank you, thank you, for employing such a great...
