I have been staying here for over 20 years I can say it is honestly so homey and never given me a reason to move to another place.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, and most tenants are families and friendly as well.
Good room, comfy beds. Walking distance to a lot of SLT, lake, and the casinos. Also pool is always clean without partiers. Jacuzzi has always been available and is redone recently.
Year after year small but consistent improvements are seen and seeing some of the same staff is always nice.
A great vacation spot with moderately fast, free WiFi. A movie list in the front, but could be reorganized with description or at least genre.
The couches are getting a bit stiff but it is a pull out couch with bed so maybe beggars can't be choosey.
The shower heads are a bit short for tall people but work well, great heat and pressure. The soaps and toiletries are of great quality, superior to other hotels I have stayed.
Nice environment without the usual casino or smoking crowd, which I appreciate. It's mostly families. It is well lit at night and there is a security after 11pm which is nice.
Plenty of parking. Plenty of clean great barbecues around the pool with provided clean cooking utensils.
There is a safe and fun play area for kids with grass and a swingset.
No pets.
Overall quiet at night, but we have seen a bear ! It was adorable and caused no harm.
Color television in every room, fridges, dishwasher, toaster, oven etc
Good square footage especially in the 2 bedroom suites.
Almost all pros and can't recommend it high enough. The only con would be sometimes the WiFi is slow and the afformentioned stiff couch.
Thanks lodge for all...
Read moreFirst off, this is an amazing location.
Rooms are pretty good, but your rating may depend on your definition of character versus problem. Focusing on the bathroom, things like the toilet not being bolted down, so it wobbles when you stand up, the shower head being rather low (I'm only 5'10" and had to crouch), or the bathroom door not being able to latch or close all the way.
The amenities are nice. The grassy area with a volleyball net and patio was a hit with the kids. A bigger hit was the pool. It's a good size, heated enough to not be unbearable, but still cool and refreshing. The hot tub, however, wasn't great. There is no shade during the day, so the bright sun was unbearable. I'm not sure how it was the other days, because it wasn't heating up, so it was basically bathwater. Once the desk was notified on the second day, the issue was resolved. However, the front office closes at normal business hours. So discovering the hot tub issue at 630pm, there was no one to tell.
All in all, it was a good experience and we'll definitely be back. But don't expect a...
Read moreLocated near downtown South Lake Tahoe, the property is on a very busy street resulting in constant noise. A centrally located pool is well maintained, but adds to the noise level, which often extends past 10pm. The units have no air conditioning, but did have a box fan which helped at night, but your have to have your windows open which allows more noise in. ||There are lots of barbecues around the property. Shipping is within a reasonable walking distance. There are many eateries and entertainment venues nearby, but parking is either scarce or expensive. ||Visiting the beach is also expensive, with even ones on Forest Service land charging a minimum of $10 to park. America the Beautiful passes not accepted. ||If you’re looking for gambling or an urban experience, it might be your cup of tea, but we spent most of our time over the hill in Carson City, Virginia City and a wonderful experience in the ghost town...
