Sun Art Gallery — Attraction in South Lake Tahoe

Our experiences with Sun Art Gallery span the last decade. Connie and David Hwang, the owners and artists of the many spectacular paintings that you will find there, are two of the most genuine people that you will ever meet. Their gallery is superior to any other gallery that we have visited. This is a one of a kind art gallery. We have looked at a number of other galleries for nature scene paintings and the like, and nowhere else can even compare to those created by David. His talent is at the highest level. The color and detail of his paintings is unmatched. His ability to replicate Mother Nature scenes and such is off the charts. David’s paintings include four different mediums – pastel, watercolor, oil and woodblock – and he also has produced enlarged photos as well. Just go look for yourself, you will be amazed! Our home is filled with David’s paintings, as they bring a feeling of joy to our hearts when we look at them every day. His paintings constantly remind us of our many visits to the Lake Tahoe area, one of the most beautiful places on this earth. Connie also creates a wide variety of beautiful abstract paintings that offer an additional selection of paintings for you to purchase. We also have several of her paintings on our walls at home as well. Along with their own paintings selections, they sell a variety of creations from other local artists. These include blown glass pieces, iron wood sculptures and wood turned bowls and such. We have filled our home with many of these creations as well. Our home is filled with Sun Art Gallery pieces. Connie and David Hwang, the sole proprietors and artists, are not only masters of their work but a genuine, sincere couple, wanting to share their passion of the arts. We have visited their gallery numerous times over the years and always marvel at their talent!

Our most recent purchase "Sunflower", a watercolor by David, is one of our prize possessions. The detail of the lace cloth is exquisite in contrast to the tapestry background and the vase of sunflowers adds brilliance to the composition.

EXCELLENT art gallery. A husband and wife run the place and make the art themselves, which is all kinds! Watercolor, wood block printing, pastel, oil painting, all of it. The shopkeeper is very kind and talked to my wife about their art as she is currently a Fine Arts student.
