Twilight and Rust Gallery — Attraction in South Lake Tahoe

I had the pleasure of working with Jon and his amazing company in late 2022. This literally came together while I was looking on Instagram and saw a feed highlighting his photo’s of the Lake Tahoe Area. One photo in particular caught my attention of Emerald Bay with the amazing Fall colors on display.

What I wanted to do was surprise my wife with a wedding gift and have the particular picture I was so taken by blown up to poster size having our names displayed on it and the date of our wedding. I reached out to Jon via Instagram messaging, and he was quick to respond with my request. What was so amazing to me was that Jon and I actually never spoke on the phone regarding the details of what I was looking for, it was actually all done via Instagram messaging with details like the size, font, want on wanted it printed (in this case aluminum), and more. Throughout the process Jon was extremely professional, a pleasure to work with, and above all punctual and detail oriented with his information. I recall at one time that he needed to take a bit longer because he wanted to make sure that the font and the size of the writing was to his high expectations because he knew how important this piece was for my wife and I that it would be displayed in our home for the rest of our lives. The ease of working with Jon from start to finish, could not have been smoother. Upon shipping of the print from California to Arizona he sent me detailed information on how it was being sent, tracking numbers, and wanted to make sure that it got there in a timely fashion. In the end, it showed up in perfect condition, and it capped off what was an amazing wedding celebration with this beautiful memory of Lake Tahoe.

The most difficult thing now, is continually seeing Jon’s photography of the Lake Tahoe Area and wanting to buy more of it!! I had the most incredible experience at Twilight Rust Photography Gallery in South Lake Tahoe. My fiancé and I walked in just as they were about to close, but Jonathan Thompson, the owner and artist, welcomed us in without hesitation and made us feel at home. He didn’t rush us or try to pressure us into buying anything, which made the whole experience feel so relaxed.

Jonathan shared the fascinating stories behind each photograph he and his business partner had captured, adding depth and meaning to every piece. The photos themselves were absolutely captivating, with colors so vibrant they seemed almost unreal, as if we were transported directly into the scenes they portrayed. Each image had its own energy, and it was easy to see the love and passion Jonathan has for his craft.
