This is long but please read it before you consider staying here, especially if you’re a woman traveling alone. My partner and I usually stay at other hotels when visiting PC but the hot tub on the balcony was very appealing to us and so we gave it a try. Check in was typical, except the front desk staff were extremely standoffish. Later on, my partner and I (both female) were followed by a man (another guest) which made us very uncomfortable. Every woman knows “that” feeling you get when something isn’t right and that’s what we were feeling which we’ve learned to trust. Despite this feeling, we tried to ignore it as this was supposed to be a relaxing weekend and went to finish getting the rest of our luggage. We were going back to our room and that same man was now coming out of his suite which was conveniently right next to ours. He watched us without blinking as we quickly walked past him into our room. As we went to close our door, he stepped forward and winked at us in a very sinister way. After thinking about these interactions, we decided to go speak to the staff at the front desk and request a room change. Especially since there were no cameras near our room. We didn’t want to be overdramatic but we were genuinely scared. We explained the situation to one of the employees who was a man with dirty blonde hair, and he couldn’t care less. He raised his eyebrow and said, “Yeah we don’t have any other rooms.” We stood there uncomfortably, thinking that surely a business that profits off of hospitality would say something else. Maybe be sympathetic or ask more questions about the situation/ give us some reassurance… but, no. In fact him and the woman who was also up front acted completely annoyed that we were bothering them. They didn’t say another word to us and we walked back to our room extremely uneasy. In a world where assault and trafficking are increasingly common, it’s so deeply disturbing that our multiple experiences with this man were not only downplayed but outright dismissed by the hotel staff. This is not normal behavior between guests and at any other hotel I feel this would have been taken much more seriously. We dropped hundreds of dollars on our deluxe suite and have no desire to return with how we were treated. Maybe this was a unique bad experience but you really only get one chance to make a first impression. I decided to make a formal complaint after leaving, which was ignored so I’m writing this. During Sundance and other events this spot has been highly recommended but I’m tempted to tell my colleagues to steer clear. I genuinely hope the staff can learn from this and do better...
Read moreVery beautiful resort and facilities. Easy to access, and they have covered parking which is nice since it snowed while we stayed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I loved the bed! Our room as very nice also. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Worst part is the location. Our unit overlooked a parking lot and two roads that were very busy. It was very loud all day and well into the night. We didnt hear the surrounding rooms but the outside noise was loud. I would request a room at the other end next time. When we used the hot tub it was loud and bright from all the parking lot lights and cars. Our hot tub was empty when we got here, which was annoying since we specifically got that room for the hot tub and it didnt get filled till the next day. Also the hot tub controls did not work, so we could not turn down the heat and it was set way too high. The bathroom didnt have any lotion (for my wife obviously :-) ). There was shampoo where i think the lotion was supposed to be. Its something small, but after the hot tub, our skin is always gross and lotion helps. The robes were kind of scratchy, would expext softer robes at such a nice hotel.
Our hallway to our room was used to store tables and chairs from the conference area. Not very classey for the type of ambiance they have established here. Maybe throw a curtain or something up so I dont feel like i am walking through a storage closet to get to my room.
My wife was attending a conference and asked if they could get a late check-out for us so I wouldn't have to sit in a parking lot waiting for her conference to be over for 2 hours. After the second attempt by a maid to get into my room at 9 in the morning I called down to confirm that we had a 12 o'clock late check-out like they had told us. The lady said there was no record of that and said she could probably give me to 11:30 since someone was checking in. Which meant I would have to sit in the parking lot waiting for my wife's Conference to end for an additional 30 minutes, instead of having a nice hotel room to sit in.. Not happy about that.
It's a very nice hotel, just seems weird that at this price level there would be so many little things wrong.
The sun did come out my last morning and if you could overlook the fact that the bulk of the view is of a parking lot and a Best Buy and Bed Bath and Beyond, the mountains above them...
Read moreMy partner and I live in Salt Lake City and needed a getaway, badly. An escape from reality just for a bit to unwind and spoil ourselves to recharge and freshen up. ||Melinda, the front desk staff is so cheerful and friendly! Greeted us the first moment we stepped inside the hotel. She made the check in experience so fun that I forgot I was even checking in. Emily, the Manager has been so amazing with checking on both of us during our stay, providing assistance we needed, answered our questions, and made sure we’re taken care of during our stay. ||One night staying here definitely recharged both of us quite plenty. The room is amazing! Fully stocked with everything you need in kitchen to cook, in bathroom to freshen up, and in bedroom with extra blanket. ||To our surprise there was a concert happening that night and is next to Newpark Resort. We were excited about this! We knew the night was going to be even more fun. Instead of sitting in the large crowd - we got to enjoy the concert directly from the hot tub in our private balcony! Oh the view! The view is stunning! ||We originally planned on cooking dinner together but oh my… the hot tub made us feel too relaxed. So we just ordered a delicious food from Maxwell’s that is on 1st floor of the hotel. Super easy and quick to order and grab food. We got to enjoy the food while watching movie in the living room and play some board games together. ||My most favorite part of this trip was the GIANT bath tub. Makes the bubble bath so incredibly relaxing when your entire body is submerged under water (I’m 6’0). ||We took a tour around the hotel and loved the pool, sauna room, and steam room. Unfortunately, we didn’t find the time to take advantage of these when we wanted to so badly! We’re definitely doing this on our next trip back here!||To wrap up the night, we did love sleeping on that king-sized bed in a private bedroom, so we got to stay in an almost pitch-black room while there was still some sunlight outside. These pillows are plush and perfect. The blanket feels amazing. It is cold to touch. We watched TV until we fell asleep. We slept like a baby. We woke up at 6 in the morning feeling so refreshed and ready to face the real world again… ||We’re definitely coming back again and hopefully for a full weekend together! So much we need to experience at...
