Recently stayed at this âcampgroundâ thinking it was an actual place to camp. We camp in our van and have done this many times in the past. We have never had a problem anywhere or made to feel like less of a camper. Not until we stayed here. If your RV didnât cost more than a quarter of a million dollars the owners will make you feel like trash and you donât belong. The âcampgroundâ does not allow fires and doesnât have a bathroom. No big deal as we have camped like this before. Apparently they donât get many people that camp with a need for a restroom because they made a big deal about it when we checked in. Whatever, again, no big deal. The owner invited us to some Christmas outing on their dime but made us feel like they were only inviting us out of pity so we chose not to go. She acted pretty snobby and like she was doing us a favor by giving us some free beer and wine and a trolley ride into town to see the lights. The next day we left our campsite to go see stuff in Key West and returned to find the ownerâs Tesla Model S parked in our campsite upon our return. Our whole stay we felt like we didnât belong because our van didnât cost an arm, leg, and our first born. When we saw the owner was being disrespectful toward us and parked in our campsite we decided to check out and leave. The owner could have parked anywhere else around us because neither site around us was occupied. Well, it got us to leave and landed them a one star review, so good job!!! I highly recommend saying anywhere else unless you want to be harshly judged from afar and made to feel like you are less important because you donât own an expensive camper. We will not return to this place next time we travel to the Keys. We highly recommend staying elsewhere unless you donât mind paying $150-$250 a night for a grassy spot to park your RV. I feel sorry for the people who own and run this place to judge and make me feel like I donât belong and my money is worthless. Just because we chose not to spend our hard earned money on a camper does not mean we donât belong. I hope this place goes out of business.
TLDR - Owners are snobby and bougie and ruined...

We were extremely lucky to find availability at Leoâs Campground 3 years ago, 2020, and just finished our 3rd. year staying here. The people who choose Leoâs for their home away from home are very friendly and kind. We have made so many friends here and look forward to seeing them every year. The camp is beautifully maintained by the grounds crew. All the palm trees and flowering plants add so much appeal to the surroundings. The lake offers catch and release fishing, several serene sitting areas, and small boat or kayak access through the mangroves to the Gulf of Mexico. Your RV needs to be self-contained as the bathhouses and restrooms are currently closed, for the safety of all their guests, due to the continuing pop-up variants of the Covid-19 virus. No tent camping offered at this time. There is no pool here but with the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico so close to the Campground, you really donât need a pool. However, if you prefer to swim laps/ water aerobics, etc. or want a day or more at the pool, Key West offers a free Community Swimming Pool and the nearby College of the Florida Keys offers lap swimming/water aerobics daily for a nominal fee. The college pool is 1.5 miles away and a nice flat bike ride to reach it. The campground has 5 Tiki Huts containing picnic tables, Pool & Ping Pong Tables, games (Chess, Jenga, Connect 4, Hook & Ring, etc) swings for relaxing near the lake and a bar area. The owner is on site and his office staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The camp store has some of what you may need. Or the staff will tell you the best places to go if they donât carry it. USPS, UPS, Fedex and Amazon all deliver to you here. In addition to laundry facilities ($), they have WIFI Hotspots and some sites have Cable connection. Their prices are the best in the area for all they have to offer. Stay at Leoâs Campground. It is a hidden gem on Stock Island, Key West, Florida. We have booked for 2023 already and have extended our stay because of this piece...
Read moreWonderful, family run RV Park & Campground. We have had 2 long stays there with our old dog who was very accepted by the owners & RV neighbors. She loved mingling with the other dogs & became addicted to Bingo night & her free hot dog! All doggie guests are leashed, & the grounds are well maintained, so if you're not a dog person, no worries. The RV's have a nice amount of space between neighbors for comfort and privacy. If you ARE an animal person, this is a dog friendly RV park. There are also dog parks nearby (one at Stock Island Marina, very close by), as well as a dog beach & many dog friendly restaurants. LEO'S has access to the water, where you can borrow a kayak from Leo's, & have a tranquil journey through the mangroves. I took some beautiful photos there! In Key West, theres always something unique, anywhere u go! This brings me to mention the population of iguanas of several kinds, which live hidden in a section of Mangroves at Leo's! They are not bothersome, and will keep to themselves. If you want to see " the gang," ask the staff where they dwell, and bring along some watermelon or strawberries. Their favorite! It is an amazing site to watch them gather in their natural environment. I went by myself, every day! It is very safe, so bring the children! They'll love it! Key West is what you make of it. Lay back and have some quiet time, have a bbq with family or new friends, join activities, or take a bicycle, moped, or quick shuttle to beaches, pools, watersports, Sunset Pier, Duval Street, Schooners Wharf, many attractions, great music of all genres, incredible food, and I could go on! Theres something for everyone! The owners & staff at Leo's are extremely helpful and accommodating, give you great advice as to where to go/ what to see, and will make you feel...
