Worst jet ski experience! We got there an hour before our scheduled time (10AM) and after doing all the license requirements, the guide, TJ wastes about 30 minutes of the 2 hour tour ($160+tax &fees) giving directions before getting the group into the water and then gets upset when you do something he failed to mention. For example, he never mentioned that you could pass riders who were going to slow or that we couldn’t safely swerve while riding. Then after we do what he says and pass the slow riders, he gets upset again and says that my friend and I need to go to the back of the line because we “ride too fast”. And threatened to kick us out of the tour until my friend said he was going to record for evidence. He also complained about us taking pictures for instagram and then 10 minutes later he was taking pictures for an older couple. In other words, the tour is for beginners only (who’ve never riden a jet ski before or older folks who won’t go pass 20mph on the jet ski, for people who care more about the history of the keys than riding the actual jet ski. That is what they prefer but they don’t mention that in their...
Read moreTour was great until one of the jet skis had an issue with its motor. During the time it took for the company to bring a replacement jet ski, two out of six jet ski’s started sinking. This was likely due to the fact fact the jet ski’s looked under-maintenanced and noticed some were being held together by what looked like duct tape.
So many issues happened, the company had to bring a boat out of rescue folks who could no longer make it back to the jet ski dock. This added additional time to the tour and caused everyone to be out on the water for about 3-4 hours (entire tour was supposed to last 2 hours).
When leaving, my family was asked if we’d like a free beer however we do not drink alcohol and asked for a non-alcoholic beverage. We were told no but that we could have a 10% discount at a nearby restaurant.
Our family ended up with nasty sun burns that have required Motrin, aloe gel and bathing in vinegar despite putting on lots of sunscreen. The kids keep telling us they’re in pain. We had a wonderful guide but unfortunately this ruined...
Read moreThis was one of the worst and most unsafe tours I have ever taken. Our guide Herby sped off at about 45-50 mph on his jet ski, leaving me behind so far that I often lost sight of him in what was open and rough water at times. My husband and I actually went a different direction than the tour at one point in open water because we completely lost sight of him which was quite frightening and ruined the experience entirely. Unless you are an experienced jet ski driver and are comfortable flooring the gas for the entire duration of the tour— I do not recommend. I spent the entire 2 hours trying to keep up with him rather than tour and enjoy the Keys. Other than a mention of dolphins, there was no information given on coral reefs, other marine life etc as stated on advertisement. Although a brief online test is required to drive jet ski, 0 safety information was reviewed including meanings of different signage in the water, what angle to avoid hitting the waves at, how far away from shore to stay! Thankful I made it back safely...
