UPDATE: No contact from management and kids got cuts on their feet from the pool. Something is damaged and sharp in there.
THE EXPERIENCE: I'll hook you in by saying at midnight on day 2 of our 5 day stay a man was given access to our room by the front desk staff. Our key cards had to be reset due to them no longer working, and my wife and kids are now sleeping a little less calmly at night due to the situation. I understand mistakes happen but not checking a room occupancy before allowing someone to enter is not OK lol.
THE ROOMS: The rooms are pretty big and nice to be in. Room care and cleaning happens every 3 days unless you ask for it sooner. As a family of 4 using the hotel as a halfway home until our new place is ready, we spent a lot of time in the room and it's very comfy and spacious for all. We did run out of stuff quickly though, like the supplied toilet paper and shampoo/conditioner because it was not restocked before we got in. Small gripe but it is what it is.
THE FOOD: If you want breakfast you'll need to be up and ready at the early hours of the food since it gets wiped out by truckersand over nighters pretty early and they tend to run out by 8:30. I waited for a restock on the food, since the service is open till 9:30and the pans were not refilled before i went back to the room. There is an Ihop next door and a cracker barrel near by, so not a total loss if you miss your chance and still want decent food.
THE AMENITIES: My kids loved the pool. It is a smaller pool so it can get busy real fast but still nice all the same. There is only 1 umbrella for shade and it was broken and leaned up against a table closed. Tried to use it and it fell over after being opened. I'm not sure why it is still out at the pool where it could potentially hurt someone. The workout room is a basic treadmill and light dumbbell room as hotel gyms usually are. It is nice that they have on site laundry though. 3$ per wash and dry and a few units available instead of just 1. Location is fantastic for most things you need.
I asked if a manager was going to be in and was told "if the manager comes in today" they would contact me about my experience. Odd for a staff to not have a clear expectation of manager attendance during a weekday in a business that is based on customer service and satisfaction. Will update if manager decides to come in before my family leaves the hotel.
As a side note, they did comp my pet fees immediately due to the mix up with the random guy walking...
Read moreWe have now stayed here twice and I’ve found my go-to hotel for when we cruise out of Port Canaveral!
Stayed as an adult only group of cruisers and a family with out kids. This hotel is brand new and in amazing condition.
Staff - all the staff is so kind, caring and helpful. We had to call and check-in over the phone because we got in at 6 am - Jamel was so helpful! Michelle in housekeeping also does breakfast set up. Michelle was so kind and sweet! Oasha (I hope I got that right) was extremely helpful with finding things at breakfast. You can tell that they all care about you enjoying your stay and having a nice time.
Cleanliness - everything was super clean and well taken care of!
Proximity - there’s Durango’s Steakhouse across the road and then Cracker Barrel across the highway. You can also go to iHop and Popeyes right here close by. The continental breakfast is more than enough with plenty of options for everyone! We walked, though it’s not the best walk and you may want to take a Lyft, to WalMart and Target to get extra things we forgot or needed to grab. It’s very proximal to all things.
Rooms - they’ve rooms are all very spacious and nice! Plenty of room for everyone and your stuff! The linens and towels are also nice and not cheap or scratchy.
Amenities - they’ve got a pool, gym and fire pit. Additionally the lobby is a nice little spot to hang out and relax if you don’t want to sit in the room. You can also do a few walking laps outside the property as it’s safe to get some steps in and can take in the pond next to the property.
If you need a hotel anywhere near Port or even Orlando - this is the...
Read moreClean and new limited service hotel. I would stay here again because of the clean rooms but there are some frustrating things to know below.
They don’t give any water bottles and strangely they had none to sell in the fridge next to check in. There did have coke and a couple other soda or energy drinks for sale, but no water even when I checked out the next day. Breakfast is cheap free you’d see at a holiday inn except they are constantly out of everything and only put a small supply out so almost everything is empty. They gravy + biscuits was cooked in a small crock pot you’d expect in a small apartment. They bring it out, a few people take a serving then it’s empty and have to wait for a new batch to be made. They put about 8 yogurts in the fridge which fits on one shelf - a few people quickly take one (lots of things are empty so they take whatever is available) and now the little fridge is empty once more. I had to ask and another small set of yogurts was brought out. Seems like a cost cutting measure - if people see it’s empty most won’t ask and just eat somewhere else. They could easily put yogurt on two shelves instead of one but they don’t. If they offer the cheapo free breakfast then offer it don’t play these games. Short staffing is not a real excuse - it takes the same amount of time to put 16 yogurts as 8. If you want yogurt and there’s none when you first walk in be sure to ask right away as it will take them some time.
Same with the toilet paper. There’s no spare in the room so if you run out you have to go ask for more. When you check in, just ask for extra...
